[edit] Final Fantasy X-2
Double Items is an ability learned on the Lady Luck Dressphere. It requires mastering Gillionaire beforehand and takes 100 AP to master. It doubles the drop rate of items after battle, and it is stackable with the other party member's Double Items if they have it mastered. It can also be accessed by passing through the red gate on the Garment Grid Treasure Hunt. Item Hunter is an ability learned on the Thief Dressphere that requires 60 AP to master and increases the odds of items dropping.
[edit] Final Fantasy XI
Treasure Hunter is an ability available to thieves in Final Fantasy XI. This is a passive skill and once a player reaches level 15 as a Thief, it is always in effect. Whenever a creature is defeated, a thief's treasure hunter gives the party luck in attaining more and better items off of the creature's normal loot table. This ability is an extension of Find Gil, a lower level ability of Thieves.
Treasure Hunter does get better as the thief levels as well. At level 45, a Thief gets Treasure Hunter 2 in a sense, and his treasure hunter ability increases in effectiveness.
There is wild speculation on how the success rate of treasure hunter is decided. Due to the nature of what it does, potentially making players quite rich, players tend to want to increase its potential in whatever way possible. Some thoughts in the past have included that Treasure Hunter is a light based ability and therefore tied to charisma. There is no confirmation that this is true though.
[edit] Final Fantasy Tactics
Known as Move-Find Item in the original version, Treasure Hunter is a movement ability available to the Chemist job class. The ability allows characters to discover hidden items upon moving to a tile. The ability was translate to Treasure Hunter in the PSP remake.
