Toshiaki Imai (今井利秋 Imai Toshiaki) was an audio programmer, who designed the sound driver used for the original Final Fantasy, as well as the game's sound effects. He worked on several of Square's early NES and Famicom Disk System games alongside composer Nobuo Uematsu, and left the company after Final Fantasy was released.

Subsequently he worked as the main audio programmer at Quest, working on games such as the Ogre Battle series, and ironically ended up back at his original employers when the company was purchased by Square Enix in 2002. Following his return, he acted as one of the programmers on Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.
