Template:Sideicon Template:Summon Titan, also known as the Archaean, is an astral who appears in Final Fantasy XV. He is one of the Six and a giant who controls earth. Noctis Lucis Caelum forges a pact with Titan after defeating him at the Disc of Cauthess.
Profile
Like the other astrals, Titan is based on a recurring summon in the Final Fantasy series. He is a giant with brown skin that has white patterns. He has a single, red eye and rock formations protruding from his other eye socket.
Titan is loyal to Noctis after he proves his worth, even willing to fight another astral to protect him.
Story
Titan is said to have caught the crystalline meteorite when it fell to Eos in ancient times. He sleeps while carrying it on his back at the Disc of Cauthess. Though millennia have passed, the meteorite still radiates tremendous heat. It is said the meteorite broke into pieces when it was caught by Titan.[1]
After the fall of Insomnia, Titan is awakened by Lunafreya Nox Fleuret, the Oracle. She asks him to lend his power to Noctis Lucis Caelum, and thus the Archaean calls out to the prince by sending him visions that induce strong headaches.
The chancellor of Niflheim, Ardyn Izunia, takes Noctis and his friends to the Disc of Cauthess where they battle Titan, who is assaulted by the magitek infantry. After Titan's defeat, the Archaean forges a pact with Noctis and disappears. News spreads across Eos that the astral has vanished from the Disc.
During Leviathan's rampage in Altissia, Titan appears and creates a massive tsunami that engulfs the upper city, as well as Noctis and Lunafreya.
Obtained
Noctis obtains Titan at the end of Chapter 4.
Battle
Each Astral has its own requirements to be considered during the "summon roll", which happens every 10 seconds. While possible to summon during the first roll, it is rare. The player can summon once per battle. Titan has a better chance of appearing the more Noctis's allies are in Danger or KO states. The player will have to be in a large enough open area to call him.
When summoned, Titan appears in the distance and hurls a large piece of earth at Noctis's enemies. This causes several gigantic pillars of rock to rise from underground to cause additional damage.
Boss
Titan is fought at the end of Chapter 4. Noctis must survive by parrying Titan's attacks until Ignis, Gladiolus, and Prompto are able to cast Blizzard on him.
Other appearances
Trial of Titan
Titan served as a boss in the "Trial of Titan" demo at E3 2016.

Etymology
Titans (οἱ Τῑτᾶνες, hoi Tītânes) were members of the second order of divine beings in Greek mythology. They were descendants of the primordial deities born from the Chaos, and they preceded the gods of Olympus, who went on to overthrow them.
TheTrivia
- Titan was going to appear in Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae, but it was determined he was too integral to the story of Final Fantasy XV to be included and was replaced with Ramuh.[2]
- A glitch in Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae enables Noctis to travel beyond the demo's borders and find Titan's model.
- In Final Fantasy XV Titan is holding a meteorite on his shoulders. In Greek mythology, Atlas sided with the Titans against the Olympians, and when many of them were condemned to Tartarus, Atlas was condemned to stand at the western edge of Gaia and hold up The Heavens on his shoulders.
