Thunder (サンダー, Sandā?), also known as Bolt, Lit, Elec, and Thunder 1, is a recurring Black Magic spell from the Final Fantasy series. It is the basic Lightning-elemental spell and deals electrical damage.
Thunder is effective against metallic enemies, machine enemies, Water-based enemies, and Air-based enemies.
It is called Electro (Greek for "thunder") in Spanish, Tuono (Latin for lightning) in Italian and Blitz ("lightning") in German.
Deals lightning damage to one foe.
Known as LIT in the NES release, Bolt1 in the Final Fantasy Origins release, and Thunder in subsequent releases. It is a Level 1 Black Magic spell that is bought in Cornelia. It can only be learned by the Black Mage, Black Wizard, Red Mage, Red Wizard, and Ninja job classes. Thunder can be cast by Rakshasa, Water Naga, and Spirit Naga.
In the NES and Origins releases the spell deals between 10 and 40 damage to one foe, and cost one level 1 charge. In the Dawn of Souls and 20th Anniversary Edition releases it deals damage relative to the caster's Intelligence and costs 5 MP to cast.

Thunder is a level 2 Black Magic spell that has a base power of 35 and can be bought for 700 gil at Canaan, Tozus, and the Vikings' Cove. The spell can be used through the Light Staff, while the enemies Petit, Lilliputian, and Gold Warrior can use the spell against the party.

Bolt, or Thunder, is a Black Magic spell learned by Rydia at reaching level 5 and is already known by Palom, Tellah, and Fusoya when they join the party. It has a casting time of 1, costs 5 MP to cast, and has a spell power of 16 in 2D versions and 20 in the 3D versions. It can be also be cast by using the Thunder Rod as an item in battle.
On the Easy Type version, the casting time was reduce to 0 and the spell was renamed to Thunder 1.

The Thunder spell can be used if the Thunder Materia is equipped on the Vincent's gun. It is the most powerful Materia and its spells cost the most amount of MP. It hits with short range and can hit multiple enemies.

Thunder is a basic and common spell that can be drawn from multiple enemies and draw points, as well as refined from common items using Quezacotl's T Mag-RF. Its more powerful variations, Thundara and Thundaga, can also be obtained in the same way. Casting Thunder in battle increases compatibility with Quezacotl by 1, but lowers compatibility with Ifrit by 0.4 and with Eden by 0.2. When Magic Booster is used in the 2013 PC re-release, the player's inventory gains 100 Thunder spells, among other basic spells.

Thunder is a Black Magic spell Vivi can learn with 25 AP by equipping the Glass Buckle or Silk Shirt. It costs 6 MP to cast and has a spell power of 14. It can be reflected and works with Return Magic. Thunder can be cast by Black Waltz 2, Black Waltz 3, Ghost, Plant Brain, Plant Spider, Python, Skeleton, and Type A.
Thunder is located on Lulu's section of the Sphere Grid, although the spell is available to all characters. It is the first Black Magic spell that Lulu uses (tutorial), and she also uses it to help Tidus and Auron from a large fiend when they are separated from the others. Thunder seems to be Lulu's signature spell. In the Oblitzerator battle, the player can hit a crane with Thunder spell three times to activate it.

Thunder is a tier 1 Elemental Magic spell that can be used by Black Mages, Scholars, Geomancers, Red Mages, and Dark Knights. When cast, the spell deals Lightning-elemental damage to a single enemy. Thunder is generally the last learned element of its tier, with Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Ice-elemental spells all coming before it. A Scroll of Thunder can be purchased from from a vendor for 3,768 gil or less, depending on fame.
Thunder can be used by any party member who has purchased the Black Magick 1 license for 15 LP. The spell can be bought in several locations for 200 gil and initially costs 8 MP to cast. In the International version, Thunder can only be used by the Black Mage job class, although Fran can use it in any job.

Thunder is a Ravager ability available to all characters except Snow. It deals magical damage and requires one ATB bar to cast. Thunder also has the fastest cast animation making it useful for saving time in battle. If cast after Blizzard, the two spells typically hit at the same time.
Thunder returns in the sequel, still being a spell for the Ravager to execute. Little to no changes have been made, and it still retains its instant cast animation. Serah specializes in the Lightning element allowing her to reach the late tiers of Thunder spells as well. Some Paradigm Pack Ravagers specialize in the Lightning element too.

Thunder is a basic ability that deals lightning-attribute magic damage to a target. At level 1, its ATB Cost is 15, its attack is .4x, its Stagger Power rating is C and its Stagger Time rating is E.
It can also be used by Angel of Valhalla at bond level 2.
Thunder appeared as an ability in the original Final Fantasy XIV and it dealt lightning-elemental damage to the target and nearby enemies. At the initial release, Thunder was a Conjurer spell available for use at Rank 1 and it cost 3 action points to set. After the release of patch 1.20, Thunder became a Thaumaturge spell available at level 1 and only damaged a single enemy.
Thunder appears in the relaunch of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn as a Thaumaturge ability available at level 6. The ability deals thunder-elemental damage to a single target with the potency of 30 and deals damage over time with a potency of 40 for a period of 12 seconds.
At the the initial release of A Realm Reborn, Thunder could be used by all Disciples of Magic and their upgraded forms. After the release of patch 2.1, Thunder could only be used by Thaumaturges and Black Mages exclusively.

The only Job that can learn Thunder is the Black Mage. It only costs 50 Job points to learn, and only requires 6 MP to cast. It has a speed of 25 and has a vertical range of 1. Bolt and its advanced forms are strengthened during rainy weather.
The Black Mage learns Thunder from the normal Rod, which also teaches Fire and Blizzard. It can also be learned by a Red Mage from a Stinger. It requires 100 AP to master, costs 6 MP to cast, has a range of 4, and a Magic Power of 30. It is stealable through the ability Steal: Ability. It is also susceptible to Return Magic and Absorb MP.
The Black Mage learns Thunder from the normal Rod. Its can also be learned by a Red Mage from a Stinger and by a Viking from a Broadaxe. It deals Lightning damage to the target and units around it. It costs 100 AP to master and 8 MP to cast.
Thunder Magicite can only be found in dungeons. Once a player finds it, they can cast it until they leave that dungeon. By combining Magicite, the player can cast higher level Thunder spells. There is also an accessory called the Ring of Thunder, that allows the player to cast Thunder magic all the time.
Thunder Magicite can be found in dungeons or purchased at the Magic Goods stand in Rebena Te Ra. Thunder Magicite can only be used once, so players can carry from 1 to 99 Thunder Magicite. Thunder Pockets can be found or purchased from the Mog Mart so players can carry more.
Thunder is the level 1 Lightning spell, exclusive to the Black Mage class, and caps at level 100. It deals lightning damage to one enemy, can be used up to three times per battle, and up to five times a day.

It has 20 uses and an attack power of 6, the damage formula for Elec is base on Mana. Deals Elec-elemental damage to one group of enemies.

It only has 30 uses, and also increases a Robot's HP by 45 when equipped on them. The damage formula for Thunder is the user's Mana x10, deals Thunder-elemental damage to one group of enemies.

In his EX Mode, Thunder sends five orbs out around Onion Knight instead of three in front of him. It costs 20 CP to equip and 60 AP to master. Each orb of Thunder has 6 power and generates 12 EX Force.
Squall has a variation of Thunder called Thunder Barret, which sends a string of bolts forward to drag the opponent closer. Squall learns the attack at level 6, and it costs 30 CP to equip and 120 AP to master. Thunder Barret deals more damage the further the opponent is from Squall, each hit has 4 power and generates 4 EX Force.
Firion's Thunder is renamed Magic Arts: Bolt and can be chained up to three times in succession, and can also be chained into his other spell attacks as well. It now needs 15 CP to equip and 90 AP to master. Magic Arts: Bolt executes faster and causes downwards Wall Rush compared to the original Thunder, but no longer generates EX Force.
Onion Knight's Thunder now needs 10 CP to equip and 20 AP to master, and still initiates a Chase and chains into Thundaga or Flare. Each hit of Thunder has 3 power, 4 in EX Mode, and generates 3 EX Force.
Squall's Thunder Barret is learned at Level 9, and needs 15 CP to equip and 90 AP to master. Thunder Barret's ending lag is cancelled out now if it hits the opponent, allowing Squall to quickly hit with another attack afterward. Each hit of Thunder Barret has 3 power and generates 9 EX Force.
Thunder is a Bravery attack for Lightning. It creates a quick bolt of lightning in front of her and strikes twice more on contact, leading to a Chase Sequence. Lightning learns Thunder at level 8, and it needs 30 CP to equip and 80 AP to master. Thunder has a total of 10 power and generates 90 EX Force.
The upper limit for Shantotto casting Thunder with Spirit Magic: Thunder is now 2000 Bravery. Thunder has 12 power and generates between 24 and 36 EX Force when chaining into another attack, 60 EX Force when dealing HP damage.
