Dexterous and nimble, thieves excel at stealing from unwary and evading blows.
Description
The Thief is a job in Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift available to humes and moogles that allows the user to steal various loot from enemies, including gil and accessories, using various abilities learned from knives. Thieves are fast and have high evasion, but still have passable attack and magick stats, making it an ideal side class choice for any character who needs a speed boost. While no longer able to steal equipment (save for accessories), thieves can steal loot that would otherwise be hard to come by.
Enemies afflicted with Sleep, Stop, or Petrify are easier to steal from, though, unlike in the first game, each subsequent theft on the same unit is less likely to succeed, even if these status effects are in place. The Brigand's Gloves accessory increases the success rate of stealing, and the Scholar's Study ability can show exactly what can be stolen from a specific unit, making it useful to have if a player is looking for specific loot/items.
Kidd, the leader of a clan called "The Yellow Wings", is a hume Thief whom the player first encounters in the first story-related quest concerning his group blocking the road to Camoa. They demanded payment to pass unharmed, but were defeated and sent to jail. In the Camoa Cup tourney they return with a vengeance. Another hume Thief who stands out is Dayvis, who has stolen an experimental knightsword called "The King Arthur". The player must protect him and later retrieve the sword.
