"Theme of Elfe" is a musical piece in Before Crisis -Final Fantasy VII-. It is the leitmotif of Elfe, composed and arranged by Takeharu Ishimoto.
The song features three versions, "Theme of Elfe" which contains no vocals (with acoustic guitar performed by Atsushi Suganuma), and remixed vocalized versions known as "Theme of Elfe (Angel)" and "Theme of Elfe (Devil)". The lyrics were written by WAKAKO who also performed the vocals. "Theme of Elfe (Angel)" was arranged by Minoru Tsuchihashi.
The three versions were released on the Before Crisis -Final Fantasy VII- & Last Order -Final Fantasy VII- Original Soundtrack. The latter two can be found in the Bonus Tracks.
While both the "Angel" version and the "Devil" version shares the same lyrics, the composition between the two differs; "Angel" is lighter while "Devil" is darker and more grunge-oriented.
Lyrics[]
The official lyrics were released on the The Death March album.
- The Sky is falling The Stars are unclear
- Sometimes I wonder where I belong
- Please take me back when the stars all aliened[note 1] and shined
- I try to keep myself alive
- Please don't predict my future
- Be strong enough to live your life
- Don't look back
- Keep your eyes wide open and see
- Cast aside all doubts
- Fly me to the sky
- No time to waste
- Fly into your dream and future
- I need to go on and on
- Never runaway from the true
- Fly me in the sky
- I need to go on and on
- How can you see me, inside of my heart?
- Sometimes I'm afraid to realize
- Someone is dying, someone is killing
- How can we build a peaceful world?
- Be strong enough to live your life
- Don't look back
- Keep your eyes wide open and see
- Cast aside all doubts
- Fly me to the sky
- No time to waste
- Fly into your dream and future
- I need to go on and on
- Never runaway from the true
- Fly me in the sky
- I need to go on and on
- Fly
- Never runaway from the true
- Fly me in the sky
- I need to go on and on
