Th'uban is an Original Creation monster, bred in the Monster Arena in Final Fantasy X. Its form is reminiscent of the Sanctuary Keeper fought at the Summit of Mt. Gagazet. Th'uban is available to fight after six monsters in the Species Conquest have been bred.

Battle Edit

All attacks will be countered with Condemn, a physical attack which inflicts Delay (strong) and also removes several beneficial status effects: Auto-Life, Haste, NulAll, Protect, Reflect, Regen and Shell. Along with Swipe (a normal physical attack), Th'uban will unleash Rainbow, which inflicts all party members with several status ailments: Curse, Sleep (50% chance and by 3 turns), Silence (50% chance and by 3 turns), Darkness (50% chance and by 3 turns) and Confuse (25% chance); and Convergence, which is a non-elemental magic attack against one character which is almost guaranteed to inflict 99,999 HP of damage.

Also when it uses Regen on itself that only lasts for 10 turns.

It drops weapons with Triple AP and Triple Overdrive, and armor with HP +% abilities, HP +30% being fixed. Its equipment drops provide a 6% critical hit chance bonus instead of the usual 3% (this is relevant to weapons and armors, but only to attacks that deal physical damage).

Strategy Edit

High Agility, Defense, and Strength are vital. Ensuring a powerful team hitting for 99,999 each time makes the battle easier, and with a max Defense stat of 255, its counterattack Condemn should only deal around 600 HP. Using Wakka's Attack Reels and Tidus's Blitz Ace Overdrives is a quick way to go since one can rack up around 2 million damage by executing each perfectly.

Permanently attached boosts such as Auto-Haste and Auto-Protect are needed for the party to withstand Thu'ban's most powerful attacks. Since Auto Abilities don't dispel, they make good equipment for the party to use.

Etymology Edit

The Th'uban shares its Japanese name with the Brachioraidos from Final Fantasy IV Advance, Brachiosaur from Final Fantasy VI and Vlakorados from Final Fantasy VII. Though the four all share the same Japanese name, to date "Burakioreidosu" has been translated a different way in every game the enemy appears in.

Thuban is a star in the constellation known as Draco, which in turn means "dragon". It may be also an Arabic word (ثعبان) for "Snake".

Brachiosaurus is a genus of sauropod dinosaur from the Jurassic Morrison Formation of North America. It is notable for its long neck.
