Terra is a playable character in Final Fantasy VI. Terra's job wasn't listed within the Super Nintendo version of the North American game. It was removed. Within the Final Fantasy III Nintendo Player's Guide, her job is given as Magic Warrior. The English Gameboy Advance version retained the job titles and Terra is a Magitek Elite.
Terra has one of the highest magic stats, decent physical stats, and she equips a variety of equipment, including all swords and shields and all heavy armor, as well as female-exclusive equipment. This makes Terra one of the best characters, as she is exceptional at magical fighting, and an adequate physical fighter.
Terra begins with a Mythril Knife, Buckler, Leather Hat and Leather Armor.
Recruitment
In the World of Balance, Terra is playable at points in the story.
In the World of Ruin, Terra is recruited in Mobliz. The player must arrive in Mobliz and find her in the basement of a house, then trigger a series of cutscenes, after which they will fight Humbaba. The first battle against Humbaba as Terra is scripted, but the player must succeed in the second, after which he will not be defeated but another scene will trigger. After returning to Mobliz for another battle, if the Falcon was retrieved, the player can defeat Humbaba again and Terra will be recruited.
Abilities
Trance
Terra's special ability is Trance, also known as Morph, where she transforms into an esper form, doubling her stats for a period of time.
Magic
Template:See Also Terra is one of two characters to naturally learn magic as she levels up, and when using Magitek Armor she has four additional Magitek abilities exclusive to her: Banisher, Confuser, Bio Blast, and Magitek Missile.
Terra is the first party member to naturally learn magic without equipping magicite. Compared to Celes, who learns attack and status spells, Terra focuses on healing and attack magic. Terra learns the Fire line of spells, contrasting Celes's Blizzard spells.

Item duplication glitch
There is a bug exclusive to the Game Boy Advance version where during the final battle, the function that replaces fallen party members accounts for fourteen characters, despite there being a maximum of twelve characters brought to the dungeon. As a consequence, if each tier is completed with a lone survivor, Terra will join the battle regardless of her presence and recruitment status. Therefore, when two instances of Terra are present, duplicating her handheld equipment becomes possible.
