The Tentacles are part of a boss battle in the game Final Fantasy VI.
[edit] Battle
They use their special ability, Stun, to inflict Slow on a character, and then grab hold of a character to absorb their HP and MP until they use Release, which can be detrimental because now the party is down a character. However, since the Tentacles only do this to Slowed characters, equipping Hermes Sandals prevents this from ever happening. They also use Bio. The upper left Tentacle is vulnerable to Petrify, so Break spells work well.
