Why should Aerith and Cloud be considered recurring? - +DeadlySlashSword+ 02:38, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

I wouldn't count them, but they're in FFT. A different universe than the Planet. --BlueHighwind 02:40, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
We're counting cameos, then? - +DeadlySlashSword+ 02:41, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

Is this the only list of characters for a template? If there's none that has each character from per game, then I can work on this and update it, but I need to know the answer to this question first
We don't one. Template:FFII, Template:FFIV, Template:FFV: They list the characters and they go on characters pages. HOWEVER, adding the "List of Final Fantasy * Characters" as a new section might not be a bad idea. We do have Template:Characterlists but I've had a falling out with that design.  ILHI 13:57, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Why not? I never liked that top-left-corner thing anyway. Its very space-consuming.
Sometimes I think you use the confusing of your left and right as a recurring joke. Seriously.

The thing about the top-right-corner things made it easier to navigate. All other navs had it at the bottom, meant you have to scroll down to the bottom, click show, go to the next one. Nowadays I have to open up the template in a tab, and then Ctrl+[click] each different one to view them all rather than hopping from one to another.

I just can't think of a way to rid of Template:Locationlists.  ILHI 14:09, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Just change it to a bottom-style Template. That's all, it doesn't have be deleted at all.

And if we're getting rid of all of these, we'd have to get merge the Job System Templates also.

PS: And no, I seriously do not know my left from right.

I see. Then I guess I'll make this into a template for all of the characters from each game. I might do something about Locations later on, like set up a template for Locations that lists every location from each game, as well as those on that template maybe? Problem is is that both templates are going to be huge if done this way so......
No, don't. What do you think the game Navs are for?  ILHI 21:04, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
TALK - 21:13, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I was just thinking about reverting it, since I was about to say that it'd be redundant if I were to do that. Well, the problem then is how to deal with the Location template.....leave it as is, or fix it up to a new template?
I don't know. There are places like Ivalice, Spira and The Planet that appear in several games, so how to display this is the dilemma. It's easier to present as is now.  ILHI 21:22, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
TALK - 21:25, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
True, true. I think I'mma make a sandbox for a test template for this and see how well it goes. And I think this template is fine as it is now, so we can probably ditch the other one (or keep it just in case. Not sure). Wish me luck on this one, cuz lord knows I'm probably going to need it ^^;;

Cool template. Am I crazy, or this from the main Wiki? Diablocon 20:59, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

It's a slightly edited version I found already here. I think someone just copied it from the Wikip. Now if it would just fit right on the pages ~_~ --Lycentia 21:08, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
Try putting the Space clear template under it. Or, make it horizontal and put it at the bottom of every page. I favour the latter. :) Diablocon 21:10, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
I guess the bottom is best. I just hoped I could put it someplace different for a change. --Lycentia 21:14, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

This has made me think, do we have an official ordering for FF games? As far as I know:

Then I presume it's the Tactics three, and then Vagrant Story below because it's Ivalice, CrystChronicles and its belongings; Mystic Quest; Unlimited; Spirits Within. Where does ChocoSeries go? And any others that may exist.. An order is used for things like Disambigs and series articles. One would be useful.  ILHI 21:03, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

And Dissidia? Where is it? Most articles have it before Unlimited and after Mystic Quest at the moment.

Also, we need a link for it and Fabula Nova Crystallis on this template.

Hi! Can we put this list order somewhere like the Manual of Style?  ILHI 20:26, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

So in the following sub-sections I'm going to ask if we should make character pages for certain games. Yeah, I mainly want to see your opinion on whether we should make character pages for these.

  • Do we create a "List of Dirge of Cerberus Lost Episode -Final Fantasy VII- Characters" article, or do we add it to the bottom of the List of Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII- Characters article? My thoughts: Either of the two but I think there should be one. Though I know nothing about the game.
  • On the way to a Smile, The Maiden who Travels the Planet and Snowboarding. I think On the way to a Smile should, Not sure about Hoshi wo(? Maiden), doesn't sound too bad of an idea though. Snowboarding, again, I know nothing about this game, probably isn't worth it.
  • Dive II Hunt: We could do. It could also have kwl pictures of the "enemies" on it too. Though the main article could suffice. We don't have a lot of coverage on this despite the easy access. There isn't a lot to write about it, but we could write more than we do have.
  • Crystal Defenders: I'm inexperienced on this game, are their any real characters or are the all generics? If they are, then the List of Jobs and List of Enemies we have for this page work. Except we don't have the jobs page.
  • Echoes of Time: If it has a good amount of named characters, than this definitely should be created.
  • Same as above replacing "Echoes of Time" with "The Crystal Bearers".
  • Adventure: Okay, we're not giving full coverage to this game (why?) but I'll assume we're giving it half-coverage. Which includes the lists. Right?
  • Again, we don't give full coverage, but a list of characters isn't too much to ask. And then the same goes for the rest of Legend games.
  • Chocobo Series: Most of the individual games deserve their own character lists. I know little about the games but they have a lot of their own characters. I especially want to see a Chocobo Racing one.  ILHI 20:22, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
TALK - 20:28, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Here's my opinion on the whole thing -

  • Doc: LE - I say add it to the List of DoC article. Having a separate article for it would be silly IMO since it's still the same game, just basically an expansion of it.
  • Legend/Adventure - I can see doing the lists for these, though I'm inexperienced on them as well. Though I though Legends 2 & 3 weren't FF games? >.>
  • Minor Compilation Stuff - Snowboarding would be pointless to do IMO. On A Way to A Smile, possibly, since there's SOME characters from it that aren't anywhere else, but there's probably what.....4-5 at best? As for Maiden, I know nothing about it, so I can't say anything on it.
Hope that helps some eh? ^^
Anyone else got thoughts?  ILHI 19:12, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

I haven't played any of the compilation of Final Fantasy VII, so I'm not sure of that. We could make a "List of Compilation of Final Fantasy VII Characters" and then divide the page into sections for each game... actually, that sounds like a good idea to me anyways. I have the same position on DOC: LE as Xenomic. Crystal Chronicles series definitely, Chocobo series yes.

I'm rather clueless as to our stance on Adventure/Legend. Diablo's the one who knows most about how these games are related to the FF series (I do know one of them branched off into Legend of Mana or something, but that's about it) so you should ask him.
Personally, I don't think compilations should have one List of Characters article. It wouldn't serve much of a purpose except to avoid smaller articles, but there are meant to be. And Chocobo Series games should therefore get their own character pages and not just a "List of Chocobo Series Characters" page. A lot of Chocobo Series games are very unrelated to each other.  ILHI 19:24, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

Oops, I didn't mean there should be only one article for CC characters and one list for Chocobo series characters. Each game in those series should receive its own list; sorry about my wording.

I guess whichever game/media in the Comp of VII that has ample characters should get its own page. Even if the characters in Snowboarding are redundant, we could put in pictures of their appearances in each respective, seperate page.

Cait Sith and his being annoying Edit

I've posted in Talk:Cait Sith about this template linking to a disambig, much like Slow. --Silver Mage 12:18, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Not comparable at all because we should NEVER link to Slow. We just are right now because the links aren't fixed yet.  ILHI 19:12, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

MLaaD has a summon called Palom, and another called Kain. They are clearly based on the two characters. Do these warrant a mention here? It does state that cameos count, however they do not actually have any plot importance. And they do not appear on the MLaaD template which also makes me not want to put it on. (if they're not on two different canon templates than people will have no idea just be looking at it which games we are including). 12:11, October 19, 2011 (UTC)

We should also include Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII: she became quite popular in short amount of time and was even presented in "Michael" - PS3 Long Live Play -- Full Length, a PS3 advertisement. I don't know if other FF characters ever made even into action live advertisement. Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 20:50, October 28, 2011 (UTC)

Does she follow the criteria on Template:Characters?? 20:23, October 29, 2011 (UTC)

I know it's a little late, but...Looking at the Wikipedia article she also had a cameo outfit in The 3rd Birthday as well as she was used along with Sazh, Hope, Noel, and Snow to promote Prada's men fashion. Yet, I think if we would add more characters, it would only be Light, as Sazh, Hope, Noel, and Snow are not so notable and used outside of the series.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 16:18, June 6, 2012 (UTC)

She also appears in Idataki Street. Does that count?C A T U S E 16:28, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
That's an outfit, not a canon. The commercial doesn't count, either. She doesn't qualify.
EDIT CONFLICT: I would say that as Itadaki is also built around the idea of bringing characters from different games together, it doesn't qualify either. I've played Fortune Street, which is the one that got brought over for the Wii that has Mario and Dragon Quest, and it's basically just a Monopolesque with DQ and Mario characters. Jimcloud 16:34, June 6, 2012 (UTC)

As Theatr-erefwef-m (can't ... spell ...) is also built around characters from other games, should it be added along with Dissidia as well?C A T U S E 16:28, June 6, 2012 (UTC)

It probably should, especially considering Theatrhythm (Theat -- rhythm) has an even more impressive roster of characters than Dissidia did. Jimcloud 16:34, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
Alrighty then, I'll go ahead and add it. And I cannot spell the word rhythm. I have no idea why.C A T U S E 16:37, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
