Tank (Term)

Tank is a verb in most massively multiplayer online role playing games. It is a colloquial term for the action of drawing the attention (often called "hate" or "enmity") from the rest of the group. In this way all of the damage, or at least the lion's share, is given to one member. This makes it easier for a healer in the group to heal effectively. Also, since the tank is usually the hardest member of the group to damage, the healer will have an easier time keeping party members alive.
