Crusing through this lead me to read that "Darkness" was not present in any SNES version of FF4... WTF? Did the person who wrote this ever play FF4? The only version that does not have Ankoku or whatever you want to call it is the US version called FF2. Even the Japanese softtype has it.

SOMEONE DELETED IT!!![]
Okay... whoever deleted my Kingdom Hearts version of Darkside is DEAD. Now I have to rewrite it!
- Just use the page history StijnX 20:47, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- On a sidenote, we don't make articles on the independant Heartless from Kingdom Hearts. Hell, even the bosses are mere sections in the KH-article. --Hecko X 20:52, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- Vivi, you might want the Kingdom Hearts Wiki if you want to make edits like that. KH references in articles should be limited. Diablocon 20:55, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- Maybe put it as a passing reference in a trivia section StijnX 20:57, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- I hate Trivia sections, but that's beside the point. Really, we shouldn't allow whole Kingdom Hearts sections unless it is a specific reference to Final Fantasy. Aside from sharing the name, Darkside does not share anything in common with FF. Diablocon 20:59, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah. There's a whole KH Wiki out there that needs KH fanboys to go and fuck it up. We don't want that here, sorry! --Crazyswordsman 22:39, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

- That was me, not realizing I wasn't logged in. I deleted it because Dark Side the Heartless is completely unrelated to Dark Side the ability. I didn't have any malicious intent or anything, it just didn't fit in this article. Plus, I figured if it was considered important enough the page history could be copied and made into a new article. Nosefoot 21:41, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
And the FFXII reference to Dark Side following Ansem? No, that's Venat following Vayne/Cid/Bergan/Mjrn. It has nothing to do with KH. It's done by an entirely different team (aka one that doesn't suck). --Crazyswordsman 22:41, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- Hey, User:Vivi Leonhart. Your edit, combined with your whining and bitching, made it into the Nalbina Dungeons. Congratulations! --Crazyswordsman 22:58, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

- okay i'm sorry. I didn't know there was a Kingdom Hearts wiki. I might just make an article summerizing everything about Kingdom Hearts... keyblades, characters, worlds, HEARTLESS, nobodys, party members, skills abilities, battle systems, <takes deep breath>, and anything else I can think off... and sorry about my "whiling and bitching" and sorry about my poor grammer and spelling... I don't care how it turns out as long as people can read and understand it.... I just don't want any trouoble. Hey your a administrator, can I start that ariticle?
- Would it by chance look anything like the article, which was started over a year ago and is, ironically I might add, named Kingdom Hearts? Not to mention the related articles Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Worlds in Kingdom Hearts, Villains in Kingdom Hearts, Villains in Kingdom Hearts/Strategies and Organization XIII? On the bright side, you did shift my focus on something very important. Edit: I forgot to add Keyblade to the list. --Hecko X 01:36, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

Since this whole argument started with a Kingdom Hearts-related edit, I wanted to ask if it should be mentioned that Soul Eater makes an appearance in KH and KH2 as Riku's Keyblade?ZPRN 15:00, January 18, 2011 (UTC)
Darkside????[]
- Souleater - III, XI, XII, RW
- Dark Wave - IV
- Darkside - VIII, IX
- Darkness - IV, CC, X2, T
I'm moving this to Souleater since it's a name more recurring in the main numbered series, according to this lovely article. >:3 AJDurai 05:42, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
Does Darkness Stack With Focus In IV?[]
If so, that could be pretty useful.--99.247.176.46 05:12, January 30, 2010 (UTC)

Does the DS version of the ability really need its own page? Drake Clawfang (talk) 15:57, August 22, 2013 (UTC)
Lightning Returns[]
I don't have the game and according to our garbs article, the Dark Knight has Darkness and Ashura abilities in its set. Is either of them the Souleater?—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 19:39, December 13, 2014 (UTC)
- The ability "Darkness" in Lightning Returns is indeed the recurring (暗黒剣, Ankokuken?, lit. Dark Blade) skill according to my copy of the J version, so it can be added to the page. --Miphares (talk) 20:21, December 13, 2014 (UTC)
Split[]
This needs split badly. While some abilities are very similar, they're not the same ability outright (most notable example being Darkside from FFVIII, which also appears in other games and I think is also in the same games that Souleater/Darkness is also in). So...needs looked at and split accordingly.
This is gonna get pretty wild. (In bold is the most (recently) recurring name for the title. In italics are names from their "original" game; applies only in FFAB.)
If we put together Ankoku (あんこく?, lit. Dark) and Ankoku (暗黒?, lit. Dark) (which we'll likely do) then: Souleater ×6, Darkness ×7, Darkside ×4 (+1 Rinoa FFAB), Dark ×1, Dark Bane ×1
Uncertain of this one:

So IMO this would be a good idea:
Should Machina's Dark Side get its own article? Does it meet the Article Creation Policy? Edit(23:24, July 17, 2017 (UTC)): Updated with Xeno's info. Is there an article you think is of an exceptional quality? Vote for it here!
Many of XIV's abilities are based on the English names for abilities from other games. So Sōru Īta in XIV is based on Ankoku and therefore should be covered together. Since the ability belongs to Cecil, I'm guessing this also applies to the Dissidia ability; and then FFBE would be a reference to the Dissidia ability. JBed (talk) 22:46, July 17, 2017 (UTC)
Hm...it's only in Type-0 and FFAB for Machina, right? I don't know if he has it in FFBE or Artniks atm, probably have to look at Artniks articles to see if it's there for him, if he has a card. I don't recall if he had it in Mobius either (if he was in Mobius).

FFT "暗黒剣" is a command, not an ability; that could have its own article.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 23:24, July 17, 2017 (UTC)
