I cannot help but ask this - Shinryu seems to play a much bigger role in Dissidia's plot than just a mere summon. He's almost like the "Black Materia" of the game, in a sense. Should we expand on his role in the game and move this page to "Shinryu (Dissidia)"? I'm gonna do the expanding part now. Drake Clawfang 05:58, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
- Summon information should stay here. Disambiguating Shinryu with "boss", "summon" and "character in Dissidia" can't do that much harm I don't think. Of course, the Shinryu in Dissidia should link to the character information. Perhaps. The Chocotales thing would need to be removed from her and put back on the main Shinryu page otherwise. Re: Discussion about use of "Shinryu" vs. "Divine Dragon" So, they took, what, half a year to translate this game and still couldn't figure out that Shinryu was the character's name until halfway through or something? That's... pretty pathetic. If they wanted to call him "Divine Dragon", just make that his name and keep it consistent.
- Hmm... depends whether we think it counts as a character, and whether that warrants a separate page. I'd say it probably has enough significance as a character, even one we never really truly see as a character, in Dissidia/012 to set him apart from his appearances as an enemy... and as a summon, he's only a summon in Dissidia/012, and not by the player. So it's not so much that we have something that's a creature or a summon or an enemy. We have something that's always an enemy, apart from in Dissidia/012, where he is not an enemy, but is both a summon and a character, neither of which has been the case elsewhere.
- I guess my wording has gotten somewhat tangled... basically, I think Shinryu's Dissidia incarnation is extraordinarily unique, in that the possible categorisations of it have not applied to any other incarnation; thus, it's not quite comparable to the other pages up for merging -- Sorceror Nobody 17:09, September 21, 2011 (UTC)
- Yet, it is implied it is the godly dragon that resides in the Void, not unlike the one in FFV. I think just the reference implies this appearance is not as unique or distinct from the one in FFV. - Henryacores^ 21:10, September 21, 2011 (UTC)
