Why Shin-Ra and not Shinra, as in the game? Mistranslation in the game perchance? --Auron Kaizer 20:58, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

It would seem that the Shin-Ra is the actual way of spelling it (that is how it is written in official Square Enix materials). Why they chose the hyphen is beyond me. --Hecko X 21:34, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

It should be good to add the Numura's artwork representing the different shinra's links.

So, this wiki spells Shinra "Shin-Ra", but Aerith "Aeris"... Wow. BZero 18:34, 12 August 2007 (UTC)

"These experiments were not done to most of SOLDIER, only some people like Cloud, Zack and Sephiroth were subjected to it. These experiments were even stronger than regular members of SOLDIER but they were mentally affected."

I'd disagree with this statement, as the game dialogue when one of the NPCs comments on Cloud's eyes glowing as a "Mark of SOLDIER" would indicate that all members of SOLDIER have glowing Mako eyes, and that they all would have had to have been exposed to the process.

Name revisited[]

Theatrhythm Ultimate Weapon

It says Shin-Ra in FFVII, just not in their speech. We use Aerith everywhere but places where we are talking about the original game. Shin-Ra is used. Their logo contains it and we can see it in everything in FFVII that uses it. So that thing in Rocket Town is enough for me.

Then again, it's called Shinra everywhere but then.  ILHI 16:38, 5 November 2008 (UTC)

The logo is Japanese artwork, and contains the Japanese name of the company. I would think that would be obvious from the fact that there is Japanese writing in said logo. The artists were just too busy to redraw every piece of artwork in the game that had Japanese writing or Japanese names on it for the US version.
The spelling "Shinra" is not only the most recent translation but also the original one. To use a different spelling just because one image in FF7 was left untranslated is ridiculous. The signs above many of the stores in the different towns were left untranslated too, should we call them by Japanese characters instead of calling them item shops and weapon shops? --LockeZ 05:01, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

Typo in ACC[]

I noticed that, during the beginning of Advent Children Complete, Reno's helicopter is emblazoned with the company logo, but it is misspelled "ShinrRa" - with a superfluous "r" and no hyphen. The logo is otherwise identical.

Is that a significant tidbit to put on the article? The movie makes a lot of spelling mistakes...

ShinrRa

I think that would make it in the Trivia section as that is rather interesting if not another sad spelling error to have not been caught in this movie haha.--Xion V. (talk) 08:57, March 4, 2018 (UTC)
