		Yeah, I got stung by this bug.Had to start the game again.FROM THE START:( Does anyone know if saving in any other areas has the same effect, and if it can be avoided?

		Suffice to say, if the glitch usually occurs at the split point and the swamp, don't use it there. Seriously, who puts it in the swamp anyway? I can understand the fork, but the swamp? The absolute best place in the entire dungeon for the Save point is the very last area, where the paths meet before the Planet's Core. I never put it anywhere else. Category: Discussion

I usually use the Save Crystal in the room after the swamp rooms, IIRC the glowing blue room where you get W-Magic materia; I've never had a load problem. Not that it's a great place to put it, but I did it the first time playing the game and every subsequent playthrough, just because it looks like a save room. Kyuseiseki 15:02, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

I actually always put it in the swamp because thats the best place to level materia, for one file I went overboard with this and had somewhere around 40 counter materia mastered (the blue kinda, though I also had 20 some odd independent counter attack materia mastered as well, among others) the swamp was a convenient place for me to start back up from, guess I wont put it there anymore though Zuken 15:40, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

I've always used the Save Crystal in the "fork area"; not the dividing point, but the screen immediately after you take the left path, before the swamp. Never had the glitch when putting it there; the fact that it's between the swamp and the dividing point makes it an ideal location. Key of Destiny (talk) 23:46, June 26, 2013 (UTC)

Is the bug specific to between splitting up and regrouping?[]

It looks like the bug can only happen while you're split. Doesn't this mean it's safe to put the crystal anywhere you want (including the swamps, the best place for getting AP) after you've regrouped? Just regroup, then use the one of the three paths that allows you to go back (the one with the bluish rock platforms) and return to the swamp to put your save point there...
