Gilgamesh: Enough expository banter!
This talk page is used for discussing improvements to the page "Sastasha (dungeon)". It is not the place for general discussion or sharing stories about the topic of this article.

would tabling loot be a better idea? like, coffer # 1 column, and maybe loot list another 3 columns?--Arciele Spira (talk) 16:12, November 6, 2014 (UTC)

I'm certainly not going to rule out the possibility. I'd have to see it to know for sure, though, and since I'm going on 24 hours without sleep right now I think perhaps mine own seeing will have to wait. (The ideas for this page kept me awake last night, rrrg.) Jimcloud 16:44, November 6, 2014 (UTC)

@Xion: saw your summary comment and agree. i was thinking if its possible to make it a 2 tier tab? like.. first layer is Normal / Hard, and the second would be each location within the dungeon, ie. Wauling Pond / Sastasha Seagrot, etc. i think its basically 2 blocks, and as many groups as there are locations? --Arciele Spira (talk) 04:38, November 10, 2014 (UTC)

Proposed Changes[]

I think this page is a pretty great start, and it's definitely a great page about the location, but I think in order to make it a good dungeon page that can provide gameplay information, we might need to make a few changes. My proposed changes would be:

  1. Split normal mode and hard mode pages.
  2. Add infoboxes for dungeons. This can explain time limit, entrance, tomestones rewarded etc, more easily than a lack of one can.
  3. RELAYOUT: Add a section for "Objectives" under "Story", and one for the bosses. List enemies and treasure dropped within the "Locations" part. Change "Locations" to "Progression".

Everything else can stay the same. Everyone okay with these changes? I might test them out with Wanderer's Palace before this page, though.--Magicite-ffvi-ios Technobliterator TC 16:28, June 11, 2015 (UTC)

Yeah, this is fine. If you want any maps to shove into the map extension for your test page just drop me a message and I'll make some for you. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 22:57, June 12, 2015 (UTC)

Since this is the de facto XIV dungeon discussion page, I was thinking.. would it not make more sense to incorporate Objectives into Progression? ie. Objective1 (header), then Location name (subheader) and then the walkthrough of what needs to be done there. being that almost all dungeons don't overlap the same area under different objectives, it also makes it clearer to the reader how far along the dungeon he is. Also because people don't really pay that much attention to location names. I think Boss fights deserve another (sub)sub heading, because thats what people usually look out for in such an article, and something that draws their attention to the relevant sections would be great. Once again i think we should table loot - maybe split it into 3 tabs - DoW, DoM, misc items. this would make it easier to know where the loot lists are and edit the tables when they change loot pools (eg. when they phase out Poetics and throw Ironworks gear into a dungeon somewhere)--Arciele Spira (talk) 03:33, July 8, 2015 (UTC)

Agreed with fusing objectives and locations. Same with loot, this is why I said we should make items into a Lua database so we can access it from any page, rather than having to copy the table row from Final Fantasy XIV armor or whatever every time content gets changed. Assuming you mean something like this ofc. C A T U S E 05:03, July 8, 2015 (UTC)
yea that would work better than what we have right now. the database thing would be much better. its just impractical to manage item databases of that size, that are constantly being updated, manually--Arciele Spira (talk) 06:22, July 8, 2015 (UTC)
Objectives and Locations merging seems ok to me. Regarding items, there's no point tabling loot, we can just link to their section on whatever list page they appear like we do currently. Tabling complicates things too much.--Magicite-ffvi-ios Technobliterator TC 23:16, July 9, 2015 (UTC)
