[edit] Moved from the 'pedia
I moved over the (more developed) Hojo article from Wikipedia. It's Wikipedia edit history can be found here. – Seancdaug 03:04, 5 Oct 2005 (UTC)
As with the Jenova, Sephiroth, and Cetra articles, I've updated the Hojo one. Ryu Kaze 04:48, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Plot dispute
I have a plot dispute for you all. Sound fun? Good. The article states that the Hojo Vincent encounters in DoC is not the real deal, but a "copy." Having read MWTTP and played DoC, my interpretation was that his consciousness actually entered Weiss' body, and his life energy was sent to Sephiroth. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Darth Grapejuice (talk • contribs) 02:07, 22 December 2006 (UTC).

| That doesn't make sense. Besides, Hojo says basically word for word that he is a copy. "I transmitted my neurodata across the worldwide network." Same process Lucretia used, & she claims that she's a fake, as well. I believe that the official canon explanation is that, after Sephiroth was defeated, Hojo managed to return to his body just long enough to start the upload procedure, and Vincent couldn't stop him due to an unluckily timed lightning blast from Meteor.

Um, it said in the article that when Hojo claimed that Sephiroth was his son, it put Vincent's mind at ease. I wasn't aware of the fact that Vincent was involved sexually with Lucrecia before he was shot. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.115.3.33 (talk • contribs) 00:19, 20 July 2007 (UTC).

| Should there be a link on Hojo's page to his boss page? Otherwise, there is no difinitive way of finding it besides searching for 'Hojo (boss)' or working you way through the enmy categories.
Also, it is relevent to Hojo anyway so I don't see why there shouldn't be a link.

| It could be done, but the majority of articles where a character is also a boss aren't done like this (Ultros, Beatrix, etc) so I don't know.

| Okay, I've been wanting to bring this up for ages, but I didn't know where to do it. This is the source of much confusion, but as many who've played Crisis Core will know, that tank thing that Hojo put them in can be used to directly alter cellular structure.
Since Hojo's specialty seems to be genetics, and in light of that new evidence, isn't it reasonable to say that Hojo didn't plan to mate them per se, but rather artificially create an offspring with traits from the 2, or even splice them directly?
It was never directly stated in the original, but it can be assumed that Hojo wasn't seriously going to make them do that, unless he was a beastophile. Certainly possible, given the game and character in question, but I rather doubt it. Besides that one instance, there is no evidence to support that.
It seems to me like he was just letting Red XIII chase Aerith around because he was amused at her & the party's predicament, and that he had no intention of actually having them "mate." As he says, he's "giving these species a helping hand."

| No, this is called "plot analysis." You know how, in high school, they'd ask you what characterization elements were being used on character x in book y? Same thing. And if it doesn't matter, then why did you bother editing it out of the article when I put it in? I would be interested in hearing any counter-points that you have, but I am not interested in reading your thinly-veiled insults. I wish to have a sensible discussion about relevent plot details before I decide whether or not to try to put that hypothesis forward again. Am I wasting my time?

| Is it just me, or are Neo Bahamut and User:NeoBahamut two totally different people?
Well, there is the fact that Aeris and Red XIII are the last two members of their race. I think Hojo would have taken that into account before beginning his experiment, and the quote you brought up ("these species", making one think about the similarities of the Cetra and Red's species, of which there is only one, which I have just noted.)

| I'm not sure what you're saying. Assuming that FFVII was using the proper definition of "species," they would be unable to reproduce, or at least give birth to fertile offspring. This is, of course, debatable, due to the whole "Sephiroth 'Clone'" fiasco, but that's not really the point.
I am curious to know, though: Have a humanoid creature and a non-humanoid creature ever successfully reproduced in any FF game? That would be crucial in determining the boundries of suspension of disbelief within the series.
I am told there is another Neo Bahamut, why?
