I think we need to set a premise of sorts for the future as to what makes a good miscellaneous article, and in what cases we should cover any given miscellaneous topic. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 16:39, April 26, 2012 (UTC)
Pirates are a class of character that have appeared three times in the series. In addition, the Sky Pirates idea was based off of standard pirates. There have also been other references to pirates in the series, such as VII's AVALANCHE flag, and a costume in XIII-2 DLC.
What's wrong with this article? JBed 16:43, April 26, 2012 (UTC)
I didn't say anything was wrong with it, I just think articles like these are highly unlikely to be searched out on their own. In general, I'm not a fan of these types of articles that show X's representation in FF as there's no real restriction to what we could and could not cover. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 16:50, April 26, 2012 (UTC)
Then let it be? You are correct that they are less likely to be searched, but they will be linked. And if I saw that "Pirate" was linked in an article, I'd probably be inclined to check it out. Recurring theme articles are just generally interesting articles. JBed 15:57, April 27, 2012 (UTC)
Opinion. I suppose what I meant to say is that these articles generally aren't good in general, filled with pasted together bits of story and information about the subject not related to FF at all. There's little to do with the role of the subject within the series, or why it's important enough to warrant a page. There's no listing in the MoS for how we should go about handling miscellaneous articles. If we're going to have them they need to be standardized and cleaned up accordingly. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 16:23, April 27, 2012 (UTC)
