Your strength was too high. The time allotted is calculated by how strong you are and how strong the enemy is. See Battle Results for how the star system works. With your strength you will have to defeat Orphan still much faster than that.Keltainentoukokuu 20:26, November 13, 2011 (UTC)

good strategy? Edit

My main party (fang, sazh, and vanille) are more set up for a "slow and steady" strategy, so clearly, this boss kicked my ass. Any particularily good setups for staggering? I was thinking having sazh and vanille as ravagers, while fang is a saboteur. -btw, I've noticed that abilities while in gestalt mode still damage orphan. McBob49 (talk) 14:06, July 18, 2012 (UTC)

You should switch out Light for Sazh, since he takes a long time to get his attacks out (especially if he's switching between something like Fire and Firestrike). Use Relentless Assault or Tri-Disaster to begin with. Once it's staggered, you can go to Sab/Sab/Com or Sab/Com/Com. After that, go to Aggression and that should defeat it. If you get status ailments on your chars, just use items instead of switching to a Medic. Finally, are you saying that gestalt mode abilities still damage Orphan when it's not staggered? ok, I beat it, this was pretty much my setup- I had fang-sab sazh-syn (to cast haste) and vannile-med (just so I can switch back to this whenever their health gets low) to start off.After orphan was hit with imperial, and everyone was hasted with enfire active, I then switched to fang-sab sazh-rav vanille-rav until either I needed to heal or orphan was staggered. Once orphan is staggered I switch to fang-com sazh-com vanille-rav. Pretty much repeated that until it died.
