Article should be moved to "Coates" to remove title.

I can do it myself.

But I don't have time to fix links. Then either someone else will have to, or more likely, no one will.

So can someone else do it and fix links? Or just move it, not fix links, but remove the guilt I would have if I did move it? JBed 17:50, January 3, 2012 (UTC)

Frankly I would say he barely deserves an article. Can we not have a list of minor characters or something? I mean I know we have a "list" (gallery) of characters but... -- Sorceror Nobody

Rebirth[]

Before starting an edit war, this character has been shown in the Game Awards trailer for Rebirth, but according to the official site, he's been renamed as Solemn Gus. It's still pretty clear they're the same person, unless it's an Andrea Rhodea/Jules situation: it's probably too soon to move the page, but should we at least mention the rename? If the JP we have is correct, rename (コーツ to ロンリー・ゲス). I also agree that it's probably a bit premature to move, but it's pretty clearly meant to be the same guy so go ahead with the mention. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 21:05, 8 December 2023 (UTC)

It's also worth noting here that Solemn Gus reads like a nickname. With Gus typically a forename, we could end up with his full name being "Solemn" Gus Coates. Adonzo (talk) 09:51, 9 December 2023 (UTC)

I'd say go ahead with the move at this point, TBH. I'm sure it will get done eventually when Techno and Nocturne get to it in their rewrites of all VII characters, but while things have been re-contextualised a bit, there's no reason to believe they're different characters at this point. Furthermore, while there's a possibility for late-game sidequests saying otherwise (I'm at the point of transition between chapters 11 and 12, which is when a bunch of new sidequests open up), haven't seen anything yet that suggests it's "Gus Coates" in Rebirth. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 06:14, 8 March 2024 (UTC)
