Expanding scope of article to include Type-0 and Versus?[]

Well, Magitek Armor (魔導アーマー, Madou Armor) will also be making an appearance in Final Fantasy Type-0 and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. In the Type-0 trailer, the narrator mentions it specifically as technology developed by Milites Byakko. The hijackable mecha in the Versus trailer are also referred to as Magitek Armor in the recent articles and interviews about the game. FF-Suzaku 15:49, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

It actually depends solely on the english translation. If they are named the same in japanese, but differently in english, all they get in common here is a mere reference to its original name. - Henryacores^ 15:51, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Takahashi[]

Magitek Armor was created by Tetsuya Takahashi. This is notable. Kappa the Imp 12:49, June 6, 2011 (UTC)

Uhm. Ãnd who would that be? - Henryacores^ 12:58, June 6, 2011 (UTC)
See [1]. It explains it. Kappa the Imp 13:00, June 6, 2011 (UTC)
You have proven yourself incorrect. Takahashi didn't "create" the Magitek Armor concept. He designed it. Takahashi wasn't a writer, he was a graphic designer. - Henryacores^ 13:07, June 6, 2011 (UTC)

Hi guys. Siliconera was wrong. See here in the English interview [2]. Amano designed the armours and Sakaguchi wanted to use the normal game sprite [3] everywhere but Takahashi drew another sprite [4] for the opening. Klauser 11:39, March 13, 2012 (UTC)

Terra , FFVI Biggs & Wedge Look-a-like in FFXIV[]

I was wondering, the trailer they used for showing off the Magitek armor was basically a re-creation of the opening in FFVI right? Would that mean that its safe to assume the characters in the video are Terra, Biggs and Wedge from FFVI? The girl has her in-game sprite hair color as well as the same dress design as seen in the PSX Opening video of FFVI.
Ixbran (talk) 23:51, April 11, 2013 (UTC)

I really doubt that. It's just a reference. - BlitzballArtTidus357 23:56, April 11, 2013 (UTC)
Its a very strong reference then. the girl looks exactly like Terra and the other two look like Biggs and Wedge. Oh well, its a nice shout out to FFVI fans at the very least. Though I wouldn't have minded if it turned out this was the opening to a remake of FFVI, that would have been so awesome.
Ixbran (talk) 00:00, April 12, 2013 (UTC)
I suppose SE thinks that if they can convince enough people that ARR is actually VI they can get more sales. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 00:07, April 12, 2013 (UTC)
The entire point was to look like FFVI's opening, yes. Yoshi-P requested it personally, and they made the girl look like Terra on purpose: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/blog/post/275 DiamondEdge (talk) 00:11, April 12, 2013 (UTC)

Amano Magitek design actually a chocobo?[]

The article says that Amano's Magitek armor design is "draconic". But... the shooting-beams-from-its-mouth thing aside, I think they're actually inspired by chocobos. Like, if you look at the legs and how they're designed to move, it's very chocobo-like. I'm pretty sure the FFXIV folks went in this direction if you look at their version, inspired by Amano's version. I don't have any actual evidence, but then again I don't know of any actual evidence for it being draconic either. 24.6.101.147 23:35, August 1, 2013 (UTC)

It looks draconic to me and the only chocobo thing I see is that the Armor is bipedal.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 23:39, August 1, 2013 (UTC)

Split off FF6?[]

Magitek Armor has much more prominence now outside the original game, so perhaps the FF6 info can be spun off to its own article and this retools as a parent? Drake Clawfang (talk) 14:56, October 19, 2013 (UTC)

It seems all of the 'other appearances' (besides FFXIII but that isn't a true appearance of a magitek armor anyway) are references to FFVI so...wouldn't they belong to an article about the FFVI magitek armor, anyway? It seems correct the way it is now.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 16:32, October 19, 2013 (UTC)
