Ive started the article, however im not too sure if there are summons before Final Fantasy VII. Also i do not know the summons for the headings without summons in them. Please add at own will. Selo 20:24, 21 Aug 2005 (UTC)

yes, i'm pretty sure 3 was the first game with summons...and 4, 5, and 6 all have them as well. --22:25, 21 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Can anyone confirm and/or update the following list of summons in Revenant Wings?.

I can do one better, check out the entire License Ring [1]. I've currently unlocked all the rank 1 summons myself, and most of the rank 2. The only rank 3 I have so far is Shiva.

And to clear a few up for you:

  • Aquarius - The regular fish type enemy from FFXII, like the Danbania
  • Gnome - A little mushroom holding a dandelion
  • Sabotender - Correct, the regular Cactite enemy from FFXII
  • Sagittarius - A horse enemy, it looks like Unicorn from FFTA
  • Tiamat - It's the FFXII one

And sadly, Adramellech and Zeromus aren't in Revenant Wings.

I seem to remember the Chocobo Tales cards being called summons, or that the cards "summon monsters to fight for you". Would we be able to add that list to the page?KrytenKoro 03:37, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

Few years back, my brother told me there was an FF where if you use a summon a certain amount of times, the animation will change. This could not have been FFVIII, and it never occurred in FFVII, so I guessed it was FFIX. After watching a video on youtube, I watched a Quadra Magic Bahamut ZERO clip where it skipped it (think it was an Emerald Weapon battle). Now, do you have to use them a certain amount of time? And is it the same for them all? Or is it different and does it say anywhere?

That's FFIX. When Eiko or Garnet Summon you will see either the full animation, or just a flash of light. When the full movie comes, the Summon hits at full power. Garnet's Trance, Eidolon makes it so you always see the full animation, thus they always hit for full power.

As for that FFVII clip, I think the guy just skipped over it to save movie space.

Either we move this to "Summon Magic", or perhaps "Summons", since that's what the opening sentece uses.

It should be Summons. I don't believe it's ever called "Summon Magic" at any point during the whole series.

I think it is called "Summon Magic" in both FFV and FFIIIDS, while it is called "Call Magic" in FFIV and FFIIINES. Nontheless, "Summons" is a more appropriate name than all the others.

TBH, use lists in other other format (little tables, I've seen them in other articles) and keep them only on the game's summon page. Remove the lists here and then briefly explain the role of summons in the games in the sections. There's no need for the lists on this page.

Not every game has a page dedicated to its summons. For example, FFIII doesn't. However, we oculd just link to the Summoner page instead I guess.

It appears this page needs heavy work. It's a remnant from the old days, and now seems really outdated.

Why is Zodiark not in the list of FFTA2 Scions ? You can summon it, and it does 999damage to everybody with a very low accuracy. (I have got myself the item to summon him, so I'm sure of what I'm saying)
