Are there any plans to make a complete list or table of the Licenses and their prices? --nekobawt 15:54, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Licence Board Table Edit

Alright, I decided to make Licence Board in format table. Could someone help me?
Table can be found: >>here<<.Edit (June 22,

Graphics Edit

Aww, no File:Final_Fantasy_10_Sphere_Grid.svg-style graphic? I guess I can try to make one when I finish FFXII... but no guarantees...C A T U S E 05:46, June 14, 2012 (UTC)

There's a nice one from IGN, but we can't really use it without credit. Maybe someone can copy the info into a different chart. MateusNamelink Dissicon ff2 Emp1 05:48, June 14, 2012 (UTC)

This article needs tablesEdit

I made the decision to remove LP costs from our skills tables. It didn't seem logical when we could just link here where all the Licenses are covered...

Or so I thought. This article needs a table for Licenses for both classic and International XII. I may work on it later (in a week?) after I have done all the other work to XII abilities article, but if someone wants to beat me to it they are very welcome to. 14:40, December 28, 2012 (UTC)

International Zodiac Job System tables can very well go into the job pages since each has their own different board, unlike the universal board of the original version. - Henryacores^ 21:21, December 28, 2012 (UTC)
Very well, so long as they are linked to from here. 22:00, December 28, 2012 (UTC)
That isn't even questionable. - Henryacores^ 22:03, December 28, 2012 (UTC)
Although now that I think about it, I believe Licenses are still common to each board. White Magick 8 will hold the same abilities for all boards that contain that license, and for the same LP cost. The list of International Licenses can still remain here. It would make sense for linking purposes, such as if I specifically mention the International version of White Magick 8, then I will have a specific article to link to. 22:35, December 28, 2012 (UTC)
There are also numerous status-boosting augments. In a listing of International Licences, there will be a need to associate licences with boards, and if possible, indicate if they're blocked by quickenings or espers. - Henryacores^ 22:46, December 28, 2012 (UTC)
On the jobs page we can create the layout of the License Board in a table, similar to our Dissidia Maps which tells the user which License is in which position.
Then in the table of International Licenses we would have a column for the jobs that could learn each license. For players to see how they can get it they could go to that job's page and see it's position on the board. In the prose on that job's page we can also discuss things of note such as Esper obstructions. 22:59, December 28, 2012 (UTC)

On the International board, each board starts with a license called "バトルコマンド". In the English patch they call it "NOT USED" (fantastic translating gaiz), and they list the ability as Shortswords. That's sort of true, but it's also not what the Japanese says: The Japanese gives the katakana for the Attack and Mist commands.

The description I got from ffsky is "战斗指令执照:可以使用道具和物理攻击,初始自动习得,LP:1"

Anyway, I've been told "バトルコマンド" means "Battle Command", which makes sense. So I've decided to translate it as "Command" at least for shorthand. 12:08, January 20, 2013 (UTC)

Handling IZJS jobsEdit

Okay, so now I have sorted out the License Boards for each job. Currently the set-up is each job page has the License Board, hover mouse over license and it gives you the name, click the license it takes you the License Board page.

Do we still want the list of licenses on each page? It would be a redundancy as they are all here, however you could argue convenience. If we do this we will have to redo the tables on the job pages because a lot of them are wrong, names needs to be changed, and other fields will need to be changed.

How I am thinking the jobs will be done is we'd remove the license list and then add a section of prose in the License Board section on each page, above the license board, that explains what licenses are hidden behind each Summon and Quickening. 00:23, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

If I get no opinions I will just handle them the way I want. 12:12, February 1, 2013 (UTC)
Is the hover mouse over thing always guaranteed to work for every device, like Wikia mobile skin?Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 15:27, February 1, 2013 (UTC)
... Maybe not? I can't browse the wiki on a mobile device (at least not cheaply), so I don't know how these things work. The inspiration is from Template:Dissidia Map, which does have images but still requires mouse over to know the specifics.
I'm thinking of a JS resolve, but I don't know how well mobiles can handle JS. 15:34, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

The Grand TotalEdit

How much will all of the License panels cost anyway? How many LP(in exclusion of Espers)? In the Final Fantasy XII Official Strategy Guide, it said;

"To unlock all of the standard panels (not including Quickening and Esper panels), it will cost a whopping of 13,180 LP! The Quickening and Esper panels costs an additional 1705 LP, but this cost is split amongst the party members."

I'm not sure why it said that, I wonder which one is correct? I've calculated the total Esper cost, it's 805. Is it a miscalculation or something?MarrylLuna(Zahasuki Harikuni) (talk) 11:28, September 17, 2013 (UTC)

You forgot to count the 900 LP total for Quickenings. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 11:31, September 17, 2013 (UTC)
Shouldn't it just apply for one character? I mean, it's not like,(for example) when Vaan's Quickening panels is just beside a Technick panel, when switching to Ashe's License Board, her Quickening Panel wouldn't appear at the same place as Vaan's.MarrylLuna(Zahasuki Harikuni) (talk) 11:35, September 17, 2013 (UTC)

Split page Edit

Would it be possible to split this page somehow? It's ridiculously long right now. I don't know if we could split off the tables into a subpage or something, or maybe split the License Board into a page for the original License Board and the Zodiac Job License Board. Any thoughts?--Magicite-ffvi-ios Technobliterator TC 00:47, April 18, 2017 (UTC)

It's only ridiculously long because of the tables, but the tables of Licenses are the most petinent information to the License Board. I think a significant portion of its length comes from newLine separating the jobs on the IZJS grid rather than semi-colon separating for readability's sake. If it's just length and not load time, the only issues for users I see is taking long for uninterested users to scroll past it. I was going to suggest wrapping them in a fixed-height div and using overflow scroll, but I guess that wouldn't work on mobile. Adding links to skip past it will work on mobile though. Zodiac Age Edit

There are some differences between IZJS and Zodiac Age.

  • Each character can have a second job.
  • Second Board license on each board.
  • Changes to the boards (e.g. Command renamed to Essentials).
  • Licenses are shared between boards owned by the same character. For example, the following LP 30 Battle Lore licenses are the same license on each board. Activating one will activate the corresponding one on the other boards (listed as A, B, C and D):
Job LP 30 Battle Lore
Archer Q10 F6
Black Mage
Bushi H17 G16 G15 H16
Foebreaker J14 J12 J8 J10
Knight L4 K3 G3 I3
Machinist P3 O3 O2
Monk D2 C4 E4 C5
Red Battlemage P7 K11 O7
Shikari D14 E14 E12 E13
Time Battlemage K14 L14 N14 M14
Uhlan J11 I15 C13 B10
White Mage N3 O6 J9 M7

I'm in the process of documenting these changes. How will we integrate these changes into this page? Do we need to create a new License Board page for the Zodiac Age?

Jordanbtucker (talk) 20:19, July 19, 2017 (UTC)

No we shouldn't need a new page, replace the IZJS stuff with this and possibly include IZJS differences elsewhere as a separate section on the page. IZJS was not released outside Japan, so its coverage is not a priority over Zodiac Age, the most recent release.--Magicite-ffvi-ios Technobliterator TC 20:22, July 19, 2017 (UTC)
By the way, if the differences between Zodiac Age and IZJS are too significant for them to fit on one page, you can make a separate /IZJS License Board page, but keep this page as the Zodiac Age one.--Magicite-ffvi-ios Technobliterator TC 00:41, July 20, 2017 (UTC)
