Null Physical[]

Would Null Physical classify as Invincibity? FFX-2 tutorials on Celsius have Null Physical mentioned on status effects page. Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 20:03, October 1, 2011 (UTC)

Nah. I would say Invincibiliy means Null Everything. Jeppo (Talk | contribs) 20:29, October 1, 2011 (UTC)

He's right. Lunar Curtains both give Reflect and makes physicals aimed at the target impossible to hit.
I'll add the extra bit of information on FFIV gotten from here into the FFIV area. Fenrir9 09:57, April 3, 2012 (UTC)

Final Fantasy VII - why is "Peerless" in the character status window?[]

When you examine your character status states added by equipped materia, "Peerless" appears grayed out within this window, yet there is no apparent way to add the state to a character in the first place. For instance, equipping and linking Added Effect + Shield doesn't make your character invincible the moment a battle begins. So, why does the game list this state in the status window in the first place?

Obviously, allowing a character to retain a permanent state of invincibility would be a gamebreaker, but considering the invincibility state normally doesn't last very long, there's no reason to assume that adding the state through Added Effect would have an *indefinite* duration for some reason. It could simply start the character off in an invincible state just as if they had cast Shield, which would quickly wear off as the battle went on. Nothing gamebreaking about that.

I'm starting to wonder if there is indeed some type of materia setup to achieve this, or if the developers at one point had intended to allow such a setup but later ditched the idea or never got around to implementing it. 98.86.120.124 22:02, June 25, 2014 (UTC)

Actually, Peerless, Paralyzed and Darkness cannot be added to Materia at all.
As you might expect, the game has 32 statuses. Only the first 24 can be added to Materia, and the first 27 are what display on the Status menu.
Any one of the 32 statuses can still be added to weapons and armor though, something that is never used. If it were equipped to a weapon you would inflict the status on a target when attacked. If you attach it to an Armor it would work just like Added Effect. Although you do realise that Added Effect on an Armor prevents that status? It never adds it to its owner.
Accessories can add it to its owner. Accessories can protect against any of the 32 statuses, but can only grant a select few (Haste, Berserk, Curse, Reflect, and both Barrier and MBarrier at the same time). No accessory protects against Peerless.
So there is no way of granting Peerless except via an ability unless it were to be added to a weapon and the player were to attack themselves. There is also no way for it to be highlighted. But ditto Manipulate. JBed (talk) 22:23, June 25, 2014 (UTC)
