Gilgamesh: Enough expository banter!

I did not know that ardor was like flare but...isn't flare supposedly non-elemental magic?

As Sir Schmoopy of Awesometon from Unforgotten Realms would say: I cast Flare! Kroq-Gar 06:54, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Flare needs to redirect, but what's the tag for spells nowadays? Ability or Spell? There's Freeze (ability) and Blind (ability); there's Scourge and Ultima (ability), and then Curse (ability). This is pretty messed up. - Henryacores^ 14:04, June 14, 2011 (UTC)

Why does Flare need redirected now...? o_O
Also, reason for those with Ability is because most of the appearances of said spells are of an ability used by enemy so...ehhh.... Xenomic 19:45, June 14, 2011 (UTC)
There's Pyroblast and an enemy. One top-page redirection is acceptable. Two are just one too many.
Also, Scourge is a physical ability in XIII, Ultima is a series of physical attacks in TA2 and an enemy attack in XIII. Blind also appears as a map skill in Dissidia. Stone appears as a skill for Squires in Tactics. I could go on and on and on and on... - Henryacores^ 19:53, June 14, 2011 (UTC) is a bit of a mess, I'll admit. Well....since in this case Flare is more reoccurring as a spell and not an ability, then we should go Flare (ability). As for those that you mentioned, probably should go with what's most used...for instance Ultima would be Ultima (ability) if you plan on redirecting anything with it, and Stone probably Stone (ability), since that's what it appears most as (Blind is already mostly a spell so that's fine as it is). Xenomic 20:01, June 14, 2011 (UTC)
But what makes less sense is that spells are actually abilities. There's not much difference than the skillsets they belong to and other skills don't. The marking of abilities as magic or other kind of technique is easier to make with categories, since tags have shown to not be 100% accurate. A strategy like the one used in Summon pages could work. - Henryacores^ 21:08, June 14, 2011 (UTC)

The tag is "Ability" regardless. This was something that was suggested and approved by two staff. See also: Forum:Spells and other abilities#Spell-Ability tags. 8bit has also agreed in some place. And there has been nothing against. 22:23, June 14, 2011 (UTC)

[oh, and this does mean we should move the spell articles. no one ever did that] 22:27, June 14, 2011 (UTC)

Ah...well if that's the case, then that's fine. But I ain't doing all the redirects! That....that is a lot of redirects to do....@_@ Xenomic 00:27, June 15, 2011 (UTC)
It'll take its time indeed. Do the templates first when moving important articles and wait for the list of links to purge. - Henryacores^ 00:32, June 15, 2011 (UTC)
Will do then. If anything, it's something for BL or Kel to fix up :v Xenomic 00:40, June 15, 2011 (UTC)
