Page Length[]

Great job, Kelta (do you mind if I call you that? Your username is so long to write! And it's a term of endearment I promise!), there's been talk of collating all this data and info for a while onto one page. My only concern is the mammoth length of the page and general layout issues. What can we do to remedy this? What about collapsible tables? So we have "Ultra Potion" "an extended blurb about ultra potion" and then a collapsed table? Or make this into a parent page, and have links to Ultra Potion, Panacea etc. as sub-pages (similar to the current set-up for the XIII Datalog entries)? What does everyone think? - Paramina 23:30, July 2, 2010 (UTC)

I don't think page navigation is an issue as there is the contents section for that. What we could do is utilise multiple columns of tables. Observe:-

That's just the Ultra Potion example, and you'll shave the length of the page off by 4/5! Jeppo (Talk | contribs) 23:42, July 2, 2010 (UTC)

As long as we don't actually use that design, because it looks awful. Maybe it doesn't on massive resolutions, but it does on ??x1024, forget 600x800. Furthermore, they should valign to top, and it would probably be better to have one table, instead of five, so everything aligns better. 88.108.108.42 11:10, July 3, 2010 (UTC)

Sorry about my insane username, I know! I was looking at how to make them collapsible but I guess there's a bit more to that than just a bit of copy-paste code (i.e. beyond my capabilities!). I was thinking you direct-link to every item on the main Mix page, so if you want to see the items you need to get that mix, and it wouldn't really be a page you "browse", but it is terribly long, though.Keltainentoukokuu 16:47, July 3, 2010 (UTC)Keltainentoukokuu

To Keltainethingie: Making a collapsible table is easy. All you have to do is type on the top table line:-
{| class="collapsible collapsed"
You also have to make sure the first row of the table fills the width of the table, or it won't work. So in a two-column table you have to add a line at the top like:-
!colspan="2"|<div style="margin-left:65px;">Title Heading</div>
And with a bit more table formatting magic you get something like this:-
@IL-- erm... 88.108.108.42: yeah, you're right. (stupid low resolution people...). I've thought of another way to decrease the size of the table a bit. Let me cook up something in my sandbox... Jeppo (Talk | contribs) 22:14, July 3, 2010 (UTC)
EDIT: Ta-da! What do you think? Jeppo (Talk | contribs) 22:42, July 3, 2010 (UTC)
That's good for Ultra Potion, but further down the Mix List you've got items where "item 1" is always the same item. Like Mega Vitality is always Stamina Tablet + something else, and Hyper Vitality is always Stamina Tonic + something else.Keltainentoukokuu 02:15, July 4, 2010 (UTC)Keltainentoukokuu
Yeah, so I see. Ok, I've ammended the table to removed the double-counting (i.e. Potion + Hi-Potion and Hi-Potion + Potion is a double-count) and given priority to the items which offer the largest number of combinations, if that makes sense. That should solve the "Item 1 is the same item" issue. It will just be a one-row table (not counting the heading) which is perfectly fine in my view. Here you go!
If you like it, I don't mind changing it to that format while you concentrate on adding the mix combinations. Jeppo (Talk | contribs) 12:28, July 4, 2010 (UTC)
That looks great! Much better than other sites' layouts. Keltainentoukokuu 18:26, July 4, 2010 (UTC)Keltainentoukokuu
Sweet job, Jepp. Problemo solved. - Paramina 20:30, July 4, 2010 (UTC)

Rename[]

Rename to "List of Final Fantasy X mixes". BLUER一番 02:33, July 3, 2010 (UTC)

We were discussing what to call the core Mix article a while ago, and "List of Final Fantasy X mixes" was suggested. But we decided to just go with "Mix (Final Fantasy X)".
This should be a subpage. It's just extended information about each Mix that can't go on the first page because it's too long. "Mix (Final Fantasy X)/Combinations", or something like that.
Furthermore, I tried to find a formula for this but I never found one, however, I found one for FFX-2, so I assume FFX uses the same one. I'll do some digging. 88.108.108.42 11:04, July 3, 2010 (UTC)

Mixup[]

Speed Sphere, which activates Agility nodes, works with Grenade. Agility Sphere, which creates an Agility node in empty nodes, might work also, but I suspect someone has mixed them up. I also suspect that there are other instances of this, and possibly with other types of activation and creation spheres

Wrong Outcome[]

I've tried three mixes and got a completely different ability each time than the one listed on this page? Are the original and international version different? Fenrir9 (talk) 18:33, March 29, 2014 (UTC)

Hmm interesting. Which ones did you try?Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 20:59, March 29, 2014 (UTC)
Tallboy with these items: Lv. 4 Key Sphere + Speed Sphere gave Cluster Bomb. Fenrir9 (talk) 21:32, March 29, 2014 (UTC)

Can we be more precise in the cleanup template as to exactly what the errors are? Otherwise we'll never get it sorted. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 12:09, September 12, 2014 (UTC)

I think it has been sorted, actually. What was "Speed Sphere" in the list was actually meant to be "Agility Sphere". That would explain the above comment too.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 16:33, September 12, 2014 (UTC)

It's still not quite right, or they changed some of these for the HD remaster; Arctic Wind + Lightning Gem/Water Gem gives Pineapple, instead of the listed Calamity Bomb. I'm guessing that the other second-tier elemental item listings for that one are likewise incorrect, though I haven't tested them. Sorator (talk) 09:01, October 25, 2014 (UTC)

Agility Sphere typo[]

Hey, guys.

I've run into a few instances where "Agility Sphere" should have been "Speed Sphere" (semantically similar) or "Ability Sphere" (visually similar).

For example, take a look at what I did in revision 2795884: I noticed that Ability Sphere, Mana Sphere and Power Sphere were low-end run-of-the-mill items befitting a the weak Frag Grenade mix. But Agility Sphere is an exotic item. Meanwhile, Speed Sphere was missing from the combinations. (So was Fortune Sphere, but again Fortune Sphere is rarer.) So, I tested both Agility Sphere and Speed Sphere. My hunch was correct.

Unfortunately, I ran out of time and couldn't check all 105 instances of it. Fleet Command (talk) 05:29, January 27, 2018 (UTC)

Yeah I think there are problems with that particular item on the list, and maybe others as well. I made the list originally eons ago and don't remember where I even got the info from. Dr.Slice maybe, certainly not by trying each combo from the game itself. Comparing it to the game itself would be the best of course, or if a perfect list exist comparing against that, but it's impossible to know if a mix list found anywhere is correct or not.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 15:36, January 27, 2018 (UTC)
