[edit] What do you think?

I'm not really sure I should say this, but I really dis-liked this game, and I was wondering how many of you actually enjoyed this game, at least a little--Parad0x

I hated it. Easily the worst one. Crazyswordsman 01:30, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Yes, yes CSM; by now we have all heard how much you hated it :).
I actually did enjoy it. Yes, the story at times was too sugar-sweet, and Yuna and Rikku were changed far too much to the point of being cringe-worthy; but I really liked the dressphere and garment grid system and the non-linear mission based storyline was good (especially after X's completely linear journey). New Game Plus was also a good idea, I have been through the game about 5 times now and still have not gotten everything (Mascot dressphere grrrr). Overall I would give it a 7 out of 10, certainly not the best but for me it is a game I can turn on and always have fun with. --SmegHead 01:35, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
I also like it, the first time around. I played it a second time to make sure I had seen and understood the entire story (or at least 90% of it), but it just wasn't as much fun as the first time, because it lacked that certain "freshness". On a side note, Smeg, to get the Mascot dressphere you just have to get an "episode complete" in all the locations in chapter 5. There's a small glitch connected to it though, so if Zanarkand is the last place you get an "episode complete" in, you get screwed (happened to me in the first gameplay) and you'll have to replay the entire game (or load a game saved from before having all "episode complete"s). So just to be on the safe side, start off with doing Zanarkand. --Hecko X 01:42, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Thanks Hecko, but I always knew how to get the mascot, the only problem is that everytime I go through the game I miss something and end up with one Episode Concluded (usually it's that stupid Publicity Campaign for the Calm Lands). --SmegHead 01:48, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Frankly, the problems are too much to explain without going into a long story. But it was more than just sluts and a J-Pop feel. It was the loss of Nobuo Uematsu, the lack of a plot, and the complete butchering of the Job System. Yes, nonlinear games can be fun, but they can also be not stupid. Majora's Mask is the perfect example of how to go about it right. Crazyswordsman 01:52, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Truer words CSM, Majora's Mask was an excellent game. --SmegHead 02:08, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
I liked X-2. I just don't understand why so many people hated this game. --Lycentia 04:19, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Oh sure, it was creepy at times, but very fun and mind-numbing as well. The gameplay can't be complained about. The story and music however...FFII and FFVIII are still worse. And Majora's Mask is the best Zelda game. Hands cut off. Or down. Whatever. --Auron Kaizer 17:57, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Oh yeah. Definately one of the worst soundtracks. I've never played Majora's Mask though. --Lycentia 21:47, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Defanatly the worst final fantasy by far. And that includes Final Fantasy 8...R-o-b-s-t-a-r 23:55, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

I really loved Final Fantasy X-2. I really don't understand why anyone would hate it. The soundtrack was really good too.-Yunalesca-

Hahahahahahahaha. --Auron Kaizer 23:06, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
I really hated Final Fantasy X-2. I really don't understand why anyone would love it. The soundtrack was really bad, too. --Crazyswordsman 02:20, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
I don't think the soundtrack was all that bad. The theme that plays over the start screen "Memories of Waves and Light" is quite nice IMO. --SmegHead 02:57, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
Rule number 1 for a good FF Soundtrack: Nobuo must compose it. --Crazyswordsman 02:58, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
Is he back with the franchise for XII and XIII, or gone completely? --SmegHead 03:03, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
He's gone freelance, so if he get's paid, he'll compose for any game. --Hecko X 11:59, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
Just so you know Smeghead, Nobuo was behind XII's soundtrack. Diablocon 12:10, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
Cool, can't wait. Only a couple more weeks until I can play it!! --SmegHead 13:00, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
Actually, he only wrote one track for FFXII and I don't think he's doing any for FFXIII. FFXII's soundtrack wasn't that great though. I mean it was better than X-2 definitely (there were a few good tracks, and the composer (Hitoshi Sakimoto) did a much better job at keeping it within Final Fantasy tradition than the X-2 composer (I think Nomura is using Yoko Shimomura permanently now)). --Crazyswordsman 15:25, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
Really? Well, whoever really did the music fooled me. It's just that Nobuo is in the end credits, so I just made a general assumption. I think it's because the victory music is the same, that's what threw me off. Diablocon 15:28, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

I liked Final Fantasy X-2 and it's soundtrack, but then I like music for how much I like the music, not for how much I admire the composer. Lack of plot? I wouldn't say that, as Yuna fittingly says "everything is connected." I didn't like the lack of clothes but I wouldn't call them sluts either. They may dress like it but the don't act like it and that's a little more important to me. Also, Crazyswordsman mentioned that they buthered the Job system. This I cannot understand, they more like saved the Job system. The Garment Grid idea was silly but more silly still is no reason for having about 7 outfits a girl with you.--Lieutenant Alan 18:01, 22 May 2007 (UTC)

I found that this game was to much a departure from FFX,no overdrives, nogood music,no sommons, only 3 characters for plat, things like that, there are also mony other resons--mortalkombatent

FFX-2 is a fun game, which is more than can be said for the original. It was I game I actually wanted to play, and didn't have to force myself to finish. The battle-system is great, the sidequests are actually decent and replayability is high. I really dig games that give you freedom to explore and do things your way, and I felt that FFX-2 in this regard is a massive improvement over the oppressive rigidity of FFX's main game. Plus Yuna is an infinitely better character in X-2 - she actually has a personality. X-2 Yuna is also a much stronger character than X Yuna, and I prefer the strong female archetype. My only qualm in terms of characters is that Tidus and Kimahri still existed, and there wasn't enough Auron. But, is there ever enough Auron? Xmd5a 22:50, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

I honestly can't see why anyone would dislike it. You get to choose your jobs and abilities, and the game easily has the most beautiful music and songs, out of any Final Fantasy game (yes, I said it). Suck on that! Key of Destiny 16:35, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Summoner's Horn

The Summoner's Horn is only on the Summoner in Tactics? That's strange, because all these images beg to differ:

So guess what, the horn on the summoner is a recurring theme. Yuna is in fact the odd one out, since she doesn't have a horn.

And to say FFVII and Spira are set in the same world as Ivalice makes me want to rip someone's head off! Ivalice is the best FF world bar none, and should not be sullied by any other game! Diablocon 22:01, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I agree! Slander! Blasphemy! Thou art a heretic whomever thou arest! Bluerダヨ 22:20, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Just for the sake of argument, Rydia from FF IV also does not hav a horn.--Lieutenant Alan 09:36, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

Crazyswordsman - Final Fantasy VI, because Drake says he wants to link to FF7 every day, which is bad because that game is so far inferior to FF6.
TALK - 10:29, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
I bet that was a mistake though, as in FFIV Summoners still are a separate race.

bluerfn i think you misread it, it was stating that the ff7 world and the ff10 world COULD be the same and it was relating to the fact that square have been connecting games into the same world recently e.g. ivilice alliance. on a side note it is never revealed where or how sin was actully created and we do not see what lies beond the ocean surrounding spira. who knows maybe sin and jenova are related, jenova can change its form and little is known of jenovas "sealing". Just as a FFXI note, the relic headgear for a summoner is actually called flatly Summoner's Horn.

"I actually liked FF X-2 because it was cool to see an updated version of the job classes like blue mage and berserker.I also liked the extended love story of Tidus and Yuna and the new bad ass character Paine."

good:the ability to choose what abilitys to level up,the conditinal atb system bad: plot and charecters, lak of summons/limits, sherechange was two freeform (should have taken more time or been removed completly),too ez Dstroyer 666 20:52, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

is there going to be a FFX-3,if you will?--mortalkombatent

I wished. Most likely no :(
Diablocon - No, the question is; who art thou, ham planks? Shanks! I meant shanks

There was going to be Rikku's story, but due to the "surprisingly" bad reception of FFX-2, they canned it.

Realy, that sucks. i only found out about X-2 recently, i remember playing it and thinking, what is this, why are they all so scantly clad, whats a dress sphere,no Nabui, only three people,i still dont get the dress shere, how did this happen,X was such a great game, they should make a X-3 and try again. I thought that there was going to be two stories (one Yuna and one Rikku), but they combined both of them before FFX-2 was even released

I thought it was good it was better than all of the tactics games put together thats for sure it was actually one of my favorites and people allways put it down if you don't like it stop talking about it Sephiroth

I think somebody is a little sour-puss. Is somebody a little cranky? Do you need your bottle? Goo-goo-ga-ga, little Sephy. Have some good dreams, baby.

TheSwordofDoubt - Xemnas may not be eternal, but his speeches definitely are.
TALK - {{{time}}} This user has shown coolness in the eyes of Crazyswordsman and thus got this SWANKY BADGE for her talk template!
Sequel? I wish too(big surprise), but you know Enix screwed Square over. I bet X-2 and the now figurative X-3 were actually just another way to milk the cash cows. Then when X-2 disappointed them, it became FF VII and Kingdom Hearts.

They were actually thinking of a X-3? Holy crap. I liked X-2 and all, but that just seems...stupid.

[edit] Final Fantasy X-2 ...A Work Of Art!

Final Fantasy X-2 was simply a work of art in my humble opinion. This particular segment of the ff series stands out in every way imaginable! First of all when Final Fantasy X came on the scene...it was the first (to my knowledge) one of all the ff levels to be played on PS2. So, of course actual voice dialogue enhanced game play 1000%! Hearing the characters speak and interact with one another created such a new dynamic to Final Fantasy. In light of that...it is easy to see why many people didn't want the game to change and evolve. So many just loved the way the game played out and had a hard time accepting an tampering with their "beloved" characters, aeons and all. Also, the love interest between Yuna and Tidus was genius. The friendships between so many of the characters felt real-to-life like Tidus and Rikku...Rikku,Yuna, and Lulu...Yuna and Kimahri...Tidus and Sir Auron...Tidus and Wakka as well as all the blitzball teammates and the loyalty between all of them was so wonderful. Watching how much Tidus loved Yuna was truly remarkable in the midst of all the battles, the jokes, the confusion...betrayals and travels. It needed Final Fantasy X-2 to put another twist on the saga. The way the characters of Shuyin and Lenne were interwoven with Tidus and Yuna added a layer of mystery that I felt the story needed. Finding Tidus then became Yuna's life mission after she felt she had "lost" her true love. Yes, I missed Auron and even as rough and out of sync as Jecht was...I missed him not being included in FFX-2 also. But, according to the story-they were long gone anyway...and Sin was the only ribbon connecting them all. I absolutely adore Final Fantasy X-2. Perhaps to men, it was unnecessary and boring. But, it certainly gave the female fans of the series a rare opportunity to enjoy role-playing in a brand new way. So-I applaud the makers of the game for their vision. The music was so diverse...(think of the all sultry tones played for the LeBlanc character!) and each "country" in Spira had it's own sound appeal! Really, if anyone declares to be a die-hard fan of the game,I believe they should have welcomed a fresh alternative to traditional game fare. I surely hope Final Fantasy will continue to surprise us and I sure hope Yuna, Rikku, Tidus, Wakka, Lulu, Kimahri, Brother, Cid (and new characters-Shuyin, Lenne, Paine, Baralai, Nooj, Gippal, Vindina, LeBlanc and her crew) will survive in a future edition of Final Fantasy X. It will make legions of fans estastic! rteressap 172.164.189.6 19:39, October 19, 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Game Completion

Terra Fae Odosson - Forget your little reunion and get a grip!
TALK - The time of my life!
How much of the game must be completed for you to be able to reunite with Tidus? I don't mean the secret ending, all I mean is how much do I have to have complete for me be able to answer yes and see him in the Besaid? Honestly I don't see a point in going on till the end of the game if I can't see Tidus. Currently I am 58% percent of the game and am working on the cacti quest. I still need to close the Calm Lands, Luca, Djose Temple, and the desert. Any help would be appreciated, because frankly I don't know what I have to do in Luca. Blitzball?
