Is this game a remake of FFT? TugaKnight
It's say right there in the article it's an updated port.

lagging?
Edit
The PSP version seems worse than the PS1. Night Sword animation lags for 9 seconds. So did casting magic. I lurked the net to learn about this, I do not own the PSP vers FYI. Bluerダヨ 13:40, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- Is this with legit versions? I heard about this problem with downloaded versions. Diablocon 13:41, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- It's the legit ones bought in Japan. They had Youtube videos and made comparisons. I just saw a 7 second lag in the PS1 version when All-Ultima was casted. Imagine that in the PSP! Bluerダヨ 14:03, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- Grah! Man, Squenix are so damn lazy about their ports. Just look at FFVI for God's sake! All it would take is just a LITTLE work, then it would not lag so much. And if the PSP can't even handle FTT, it's worse than I ever anticipated. --Auron Kaizer 15:35, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

english title

I was afraid about this. Since the title of the game was Japanese, I was afraid they'd change it. We'll wait and see. Also, it's odd how the sub-title was in Japanese, yet Revenant Wings' was in English. Also, apparently the English release will have voice acting. You know what that means? Even more lines from Balthier!
Cloud Strife
Edit
Anyone knows if Cloud Strife is going to appear as in the original FFT?
| |||
Yes, unfortunatly. All the original content is still in it, I don't know why people thought it wouldn't be. Honestly though, why do you need Cloud now that Balthier has been added to it? ;)
| |||
I have a few questions.1. How late in the game will Balthier join you?, 2. How big is his role?. Could this be the same Balthier from FF12 (even though this takes place a millenium later)?
Alright:
| |||
It says on wikipedia, he is labeled a heretic by the church. And is after Galabados treasure
That's his story, not his role.
| |||
Yes, but it does give some hints to his role
How many uinits can you take into battle? August 27, 2007
In my opinion Diablocon should be more polite in his posts (especially to guests) As a person's demeanor can often be mistaken for hostility.
I am simply pointing out certain facts, and a few flaws in his posting style. As for politeness, I at least sign all my posts.
| |||
In my opinion Diablocon should be more polite in his posts (especially to guests) As a person's demeanor can often be mistaken for hostility. August 28, 2007
It was not just flaws in posting style that Diablocon criticized. I believe he felt somewhat uneasy that a guest had new unknown information. Diablocon asked the guest to find that info, and he found it all by himself. August 28, 2007
What the hell are you doing, having a conversation with yourself? I can see that you're the same IP. And I did know that information, a quick glance at Balthier's page will reveal I added that info months ago. And you know what's not polite? Popping out of nowhere, and saying that someone is not being polite, without having contributed to this site at all. I answered his questions, I told him that his posting style was making the page look ugly. What more do you want? Smilies? We're not all super happy people! If I feel like speaking to someone in a direct manner, then I will.
That new info provided has not been added to Balthier's page. May I have your permission to add it? August 28, 2007
I would also like to add the info that you can take 5 units into battle, which was a question that was also asked. AUgust 28, 2007
From Balthier's Page: After hearing a rumor about a Sky Pirate in Gariland, Ramza can start to investigate what's going on. Eventually, he'll hear another rumor about the Sky Pirate in Dorter Trade City. After hearing it, Ramza will be attacked by a gang of thieves. During the attack, Balthier will join the fight, helping out Ramza. After the fight, Balthier joins as a playable character. From the old edits in the history: While information is limited, it has been revealed that Balthier will be appearing in the PSP remake of Final Fantasy Tactics. Currently, all that is known is that Balthier has been branded a heretic by the Murond Glabados Church, and as such is on the run from them. He runs into Ramza while he is searching for the Zodiac Stones and Alma, indicating he shows up during Chapter 4. He is apparently going to play an actual role in the game's plot, meaning he will not just be a secret character like Cloud. Like Cloud, he has his own unique job class. And no, you don't need permission, but I do feel the mocking tone in your post.
Thank you very much. I do believe that it may have been better to have said that when the question about Balthier's role was asked. Also I am reasonably sure that you can take 5 units into battle. August 28, 2007
In the old edit it says Balthier joins in chapter 4, but in the new edit it says he joins in chapter 2. Is there a reason for this difference? 13:40 2007 August 28
I'm looking forward to playing as Cloud in this. I've never played the original since it was never released in the UK. Balthier will be fun to play as as well, but I'm looking forward to Cloud more. Does anyone know if he's in his Advent Children attire or his original costume?
| |||
As I said, all the original content from this game is unchanged, and since this came out before Advent Children, you can probably guess what he's wearing. But honestly, Cloud is crap. He joins at level 1, his specials have long charge time, and to his his specials he must have the Materia Blade equipped, which is crap. Balthier on the other hand joins your party at level 40, with the best gun in the game. His Piracy commands are excellent, combining Mustadio's Shot techniques with the Thief abilities. If that isn't enough, his special ability, Barrage, finally introduces X-Fight to FFT, attacking four times in a row, more than enough to kill an enemy quickly. Also, he has the highest speed stat ever, always going first. And let's not forget that he's voiced by Giddeon Emery... And while there is biased there, I have fully trained up Cloud before, so I know what I'm talking about. Balthier is the better character to use by a mile, and there's less hassle in getting him. Of course, I'm not going to stop you using Cloud, I'm just giving you fair warning that he isn't that good.
So they haven't given him his Adevent Children attire in the remake or the localization? Okay, good enough for me. To counter your argument, Cloud will (hopefully) be voiced by Steve Burton. I look forward to playing as them both
| |||
Balthier
Edit
Crazyswordsman - Final Fantasy VI, because Drake says he wants to link to FF7 every day, which is bad because that game is so far inferior to FF6.
TALK - 20:18, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
Needs to get a link on this page. Because Cloud has one, and Balthier > Cloud. That is all. :)

As more are differences in naming are found between The War of the Lions and the original translation, can we add them? For example, I just had an Archaeodaemon cast Karma on my character, which did the same thing as Lifebreak, so can I make a note of that on the Archaeodaemon page? Jayce 00:22, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

TALK - 18:37, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
This is the same game as Final Fantasy Tactics, so why do they have different pages? Does this mean that we should split Final Fantasy III and Final Fantasy III DS?
| |||
We have different pages for the remakes of FFI, FFII and FFIV - VI. I would suppose if the number of changes is great enough, make a seperate page...

Propositions
Edit
What happened to them? The Taverns only give me options for multiplayer ones, but the manual implies they still exist solo, and this very wiki has new translations for the old ones... I can't seem to find any pages on the topic, so I guess I'll ask here. Halp! D:
| |||
I just got the game, and I noticed the same thing. I noticed there was only the multiplayer available, and I feared perhaps propositions had been dropped. I've barely started though, I just got Argath. And when I came here for answers, I noticed that the table up there has a translation for propositions, so...

Ad Hoc Question
Edit
If I have the Australian version (EU version I think) and my friend has an American Import.
Can we play over ad hoc with each other?

Sequal
Edit
You think Square Enix could create a sequal to this onto the Playstation 3? It should include a new story, new features, new jobs, and for god sake give the characters a nose! >:/
App store release
Edit
I think this game's being released as an iPhone game! If that's true, shouldn't it be noted on this wiki?
- It should be noted. If you have a source for this you can add it.Keltainentoukokuu 16:46, August 1, 2011 (UTC)
- Proof is here- http://www.idg-entertainment.com/article/news/221551/wtf-16-for-final-fantasy-tactics-for-iphone/ release date(this thursday) and price point($15.99USD) 76.184.196.27 08:57, August 2, 2011 (UTC)
Am I the only who thinks that it should've been like that in the first place? Any of the tactics games would fit perfectly on an iPod.AlVan 01:55, August 11, 2011 (UTC)
