Gilgamesh: Enough expository banter!
This talk page is used for discussing improvements to the page "Final Fantasy Mystic Quest enemies". It is not the place for general discussion or sharing stories about the topic of this article.

Posting here since there's no better place really, MQ's enemies all use roughly the same size in terms of the height and width of their sprites, and in any enemy encounter there's a chance for most any enemy in the given location to appear, each encounter has one to three enemies one of which is always the field sprite enemy, but the other two, if any, could be anything.

That said, I propose we do the FF2 thing and display enemy sprites on the Location pages, as we cannot note enemy formations and aesthetically I think this is more appealing (In general I'm of the opinion that sight recognition works better than recognizing a name).

Thoughts? Drake Clawfang (talk) 08:40, June 8, 2013 (UTC)

I wouldn't mind it. I dunno about everyone else, but I can never remember generic enemy names like the ones they have in Mystic Quest. :/ C A T U S E 08:46, June 8, 2013 (UTC)
Use the injured sprites because why not. :P (but seriously, yeah, I prefer sight recognition when we can do so) -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 08:54, June 8, 2013 (UTC)
Vehemently oppose. The FFII enemy sections are awful and not worth the time to create. 89.243.247.70 12:38, June 8, 2013 (UTC)
This is one of the things that I don't like about the FFII articles are the enemy sprites on the location articles. Opposing this as well. Fenrir9 (talk) 16:51, June 8, 2013 (UTC)
Oppose as well, because the way we do the FFII enemy sections is so out of line with how we treat all of our other enemy sections. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 17:50, June 8, 2013 (UTC)
Would it be worth discussing them, removing the sprites from the FF2 pages at large? Drake Clawfang (talk) 18:41, June 8, 2013 (UTC)
I don't have a problem with the sprites themselves, but if FFII is the only game where we do this, we should probably remove them. C A T U S E 19:00, June 8, 2013 (UTC)
I would say yes. I found this which gives formations and frequencies. See how Sector 1 does it. Other than the encounter rate, we can do that. JBed (talk) 19:01, June 8, 2013 (UTC)
