A more easily understandable wording[]

What do you think about changing 'lapse' to 'eventually run out'?

Example 1: and will lapse (the duration is affected by Spirit stat)

Example 2: and will eventually run out (the duration is affected by Spirit stat)

I think the second wording is more easily understandable. The word 'lapse' can mean many things, and some readers may not even understand it, as it's rarely used like this. It is shorter, but shorter is not always better. We want the least chance of readers being confused or stumbled by unfamiliar wording. SirAladdin (talk) 03:02, 29 August 2023 (UTC)

I like that change, it's certainly an improvement, but...it's missing something. I think 'eventually expire' would be more easily understandable. I don't think adding 1 more word is too much, so it's a good middle ground. What do you think? SirAladdin (talk) 18:03, 29 August 2023 (UTC)

There's info missing here though, some other games on the wiki have something to show specifically what the status duration is. Surely they don't all have the same length. I assume the actual duration is status's innate duration + bonus from Spirit? (Because time runs during animations all protective statuses are fairly pointless, you probably won't even get to use them.)Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 19:29, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
Yeah that's why I added a Spirit link to the note, which has a list of temporary status effects, showing their durations and how they are affected by the Spirit stat. It seems you removed that link when you edited the wording. SirAladdin (talk) 19:58, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
