Interesting[]
Now I must say, the title alone has piqued my interest. Sounds like it could be a reworking of the original perhaps? Regardless, whose art is that on the official site? I want to say Yoshida, but then again, I wish everything was drawn by Yoshida. Old school music on the site kicks ass. Regardless, I look forward to further developments, something I haven't said about an FF title in a while. Diablocon 14:32, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- I wasn't aware that that teaser site had finally decided what it was going to be. According to my understanding, the countdown still has 110 hours. But this [1] seems to have thrown the cat out of the bag. Too bad I can't read French. --BlueHighwind ツ 14:34, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- How about Japanese? Ok, so it's its own game, but its inspired by FF and FFIII. In other words, it'll be more old school than FFIX, which I never thought was possible. And Yoshida is doing the designs? Love. Diablocon 14:38, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Yon means 4. The article should be renamed IMO. Also: http://uk.ds.ign.com/articles/100/1000331p1.html Alex Kiddo 14:53, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- When the English title is announced, we can go move it then. It haven't seen the logo yet even, but I really doubt there's a Western 4 in the title. --BlueHighwind ツ 14:57, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
So wait...is this a side story to any particular game or is it its own contained world and story? FinalFighterA+ 15:24, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- Self-contained. The gaiden in the title just implies it has no connection to any series, be it the main or something like CC. Diablocon 15:25, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- I would assume its just another universe altogether. Can you really have a "side story" in a series that doesn't have an overarching story or any real connection between most games? How is this any different from the million or so spin-offs that already have occurred? --BlueHighwind ツ 15:27, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
Someone got angry[]
Who the hell posted FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU? on the main page? It was an IP-er, so probably just some troll, but damn annoying because I saw the recent change and was hoping for a translation of what the new site says, since the countdown just ended. --Wee187 03:19, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
- He or she lives in the immediate vicinity of Herndon, Virginia, US. He or she subscribes to Time Warner Cable, using RoadRunner to access the Internet. His or her IP address is dynamic and he or she therefore has no domain at which you can harass him or her. As such, the logical plan of action is to drive to Herndon with a sturdy box and a megaphone, where you will stand on the box and shout through the megaphone, "Who the hell posted FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU? on the main page?" Good luck with that. Eric Ryan Jones 05:18, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Basics[]
Ah, finally a return to classic final fantasy gaming. To be honest, I miss the job system (now V knew how to do it. ton of jobs, ton of abilities, and a ton of blue magic spells). Here is hoping they bring that back. Exdeath64 10:16, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, I hope so. Silver Mage 10:19, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
- Did you play X-2? Its job and ability system was pretty much V's minus the mime. Eric Ryan Jones 18:21, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
- I just couldn't...the charlies angels thing was simply too much. Not to mention my younger brother bought it and rules over it with an iron fist. Won't let anyone near any of his stuff without a substantial bribe. Exdeath64 02:26, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- Trust me: if you enjoyed V and/or X, you will enjoy X-2. As for your brother, I find that those who like bribes are often the weakest against blackmail. You didn't hear that from me. Eric Ryan Jones 02:43, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- FFX-2 has the best Active Time Battle system in the series, by far. Just because the story is subpar and the chicks are incredibly hot doesn't mean it's not a fun game. Moguta 11:19, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- You must admit though, that in this series the par for stories is pretty rough. I always make the argument that a bad Final Fantasy still beats a lot of good games. Eric Ryan Jones 11:22, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- Blackmail won't work on the kid, he has no pride. You lot ever seen Bleach? He owns Urahara's hat and wears it in public. Exdeath64 20:35, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

Anyone else feel like the AP system is basically a simplified version of Chrono Cross' Endurance? 208.66.39.59 04:29, December 14, 2011 (UTC)
Naming[]
Do we name it like Hikari no 4 Senshi Final Fantasy Gaiden or Final Fantasy Gaiden? --Silver Mage 09:24, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- As long as it is not announced for export, I assume it best to use the full Japanese title. Plus, there has technically already been another Gaiden if memory serves. Eric Ryan Jones 09:37, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- I guess you can fix the categories I made for the game's characters... I kinda assumed that it was going to be shortened to Final Fantasy Gaiden. Sorry 'bout that. (And yeah there is already a category for the full japanese name and for the shortened one, but the full name one currently has a delete template... Oops.) --Silver Mage 09:52, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- The first Final Fantasy Gaiden is known as Final Fantasy Adventure in America. Moguta 00:34, 28 July 2009 (UTC)

Co-op[]
This game interests me. How is it you can introduce Co-op to the game? I can't quite see this working in a Final Fantasy game; after all, it is quite a single-player type game.
Well FFXI pulled off co-op teamwork, albeit being MMORPG. 65.202.140.69 11:21, November 7, 2009 (UTC)
Golden Monkey - Of course you can trust giant reptilian priests. TALK - --Golden Monkey 21:27, February 26, 2010 (UTC)
FFIX also had co-op. You can set each character to a different player.
Why won't they release this in America??[]
It just doesn't seem right that Japan gets all the fun of the series like it was in its hayday, yet we don't! VoidCommanderExdeath 00:26, December 17, 2009 (UTC)
- It's like one of those Chocobo games... and could they at least translate Final Fantasy Tactics Advance Radio Edition? Kuzlalala 12:23, January 7, 2010 (UTC)
Rename this article[]
Now that we have the official name for the International release shall we have this article renamed?
As of April 18, the naming's not confirmed yet. BLUER一番 02:07, April 18, 2010 (UTC)
- It is now. SilverCrono 17:32, May 20, 2010 (UTC)
- Renamed finally, as no one else seemed willing to do it. As an added bonus, the game is now consistently referred to by one title throughout the site, as opposed to the 5-10ish we had scattered around. --Adonzo 00:22, June 1, 2010 (UTC)

- Minotaurus Arare=ミノタウロス あられ

New Game +[]
Is it me, or is there a "new game +" option? This Youtube video seems to make me think so. [3]. Does anyone know if this is true? 1stclasswarrior 12:38, October 30, 2010 (UTC)
