Kept it as standalone article.

Its better this way, because at least the two pages aren't carbon copies of each other anymore. There's a bit of a reason to keep it around, just not a great one. And that's enough for us.

When is this planet ever referred to as "Earth" in-game?

Several times I believe. GameFAQs DS script:
  • Dwarves! We fight for the earth - our home, and the mother of us

all!

  • For the sake of the whole earth!
  • I will be in the Tower, praying for your and all the life upon this earth. Luck be with you.
  • The fiend slew me, yes, and robbed me of my earthen vessel.

Only problem with this is that "earth" is spelled with a lower case letter, so it's not necessarily referring to the planet by its name. The best way to know for sure would be to look at the original Japanese dialogue for the game. If the world that they use for this particular scene is something like "sekai," meaning "world," then this would mean that when being translated, "earth" was not meant to serve as being a proper noun. And therefore, it would not be the proper name by which to call the planet that Final Fantasy IV takes place upon. –99.20.199.244 19:00, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Asking to merge with List of Final Fantasy IV Locations FOR CONSISTENCY PURPOSES. There isn't a List of Final Fantasy IX Locations page but there is Terra/Gaia. So FFIV would be Earth/Red Moon.

[edit] Move to "Blue Planet"

I can't really say I've ever seen "Earth" be used to describe this world. It must have been in an older game or something, I don't know. But "Blue Planet" has been used. Not just by the Lunarians, in the FFIV: The After Years website, they call it "the Blue Planet" (see the Tales section) [1]. So I figure the name has been changed officially.
Actually, I think it's been called the "Blue Planet" since it first came out. I'll check up on that, since I'm playing the SNES version of the game ^^:b Xenomic 02:00, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
I support the move to "Blue Planet" >:3 AJDurai 03:29, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

BH, look at my comment in the first section of this page.
Somewhat of an old Discussion, but I really do think this article should be renamed to "Blue Planet" or even "List of Final Fantasy IV Locations," either one is more preferable to the current title. The reasons that were cited for the planet that FFIV takes palce is called "Earth" are very flimsy and are based on nothing more than the word "earth" being used in game as an improper noun, meaning that it was being used as a synonym for the word "planet" or "world." Now this argument might be somewhat reasonable if a name for the world that FFIV takes place in has never been referred to by name, but that is not the case because there has been a proper in-game name that this world has been given. Unless someone can find a better reason to keep this article under its current title other than the citing an improper noun in the dialogue in the game (a word which, mind you, was probably only chosen by the North American localization team), I say we move this article to Blue Planet. In fact, I think I'll go ahead and put up a move template for it. –Nahald 21:20, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
Huh... it doesn't seem like there is even a template for moving/renaming articles on this Wiki… –Nahald 21:34, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
Crazyswordsman - Final Fantasy VI, because Drake says he wants to link to FF7 every day, which is bad because that game is so far inferior to FF6.

The name "Earth" comes from the dialogue with FuSoYa when you first meet him. Edge: "Blue Planet?" FuSoYa: "Your Earth."
