[edit] Site Update

Cecil the Paladin - Is playing the awesome Kingdom Hearts seriees!!!!!!!!
TALK - "Which one do you like most?" {{{time}}}
I don't care who knows it already, but for those who don't, the site has been updated with Cloud and Sephiroth.

There's a video thats titled "????" on the site to i wonder what its going to be?

SilverSummoner - Believe it or not, I've been stalking your talk page all these times... O_O Liek srsly
TALK - {{{time}}}
hopefully it will be a video bout Squall.... =D. anyway, I'm a bit curious bout the battle system after seeing Cloud battles sephiroth... -.-"

Bahamut-shin - ...vivo en mi propia realidad
TALK - {{{time}}}
maybe is a video with shantotto or/and other secret character or a CG opening

I think that the ??? video that is not playable will be a video of all the secret characters that are going to be in Dissidia. Personally, I'm hoping that some of the secret characters will be a villain from XI, a hero and villain from XII, and some fan favorite characters throughout the Final Fantasy series, like maybe Aerith, or Tifa, or Kain, or Yuna, or Locke, or Gilgamesh, or many others.

- Jake2K

i agree on you with you on Tifa, Kain, and Yuna but im not really sure who Locke is

Locke is one of Terra's allies in Final Fantasy VI. Cluna 06 03:19, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Oh i didn't know that thanks.....i hope the ???? video on the site dose show all the secret characters....if there is more secret characters how many more would they put?

One of the reasons I want Aerith to be in the game is because I would like to see her square off against Sephiroth.

- Jake2K

That would be cool....i want to see RedXIII and Cait Sit...wait didn't Aerith get killed by Sephiroth

Wait i know this has nothing to do with this section but since its the 20th anniversary shouldn't there be enemy's in this game not just fighting each character cuz then the game would go by really fast wouldn't you think and if you notice it's like a game of chess to get to the enemy so im guessing that every steep you fight an enemy? im not sure but if any one has any idea plzzz tell me

I think you run into enemies while you are on the chess board. I may be mistaken, but I think you can see the enemies that you run into; they aren't random encounters. And yes, Aerith did get killed by Sephiroth. I'm hoping she can get revenge in Dissidia. - Jake2K

I know its a long shot but im kinda hoping for a DQ cameo, like the the hero from DQ1 and the dragon king, yeah

That mystery video turned out to be a cinematic view of the gameplay trailer between Cloud and Sephiroth. It was updated on the official site today. - Jake2K

[edit] US release

i've herd ppl saying this wont come out in the US, is there any truth in those claims? srry if this has been asked b4, i looked thru some of the archives here, but i didn't see any1 else ask. thanks in advance. Akbaroth 18:58, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

No US release date has been announced, but I would not worry about it. I guarantee you this will come to the US eventually.

ok tnx, that's wut i thought, now the only question is... hmm... how to get a psp soon Akbaroth 19:35, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Are you sure it's coming to North America because i read the interview that you left the link to and idk the way it sounded was kind of like uhh Japans hella better and there was suppose to be 25 stages and 50+ summons.... and now there's only 12 stages they better have 50+ summons still

Fascinating. Whatever language that person is trying to speak is so similar to English, yet at the same time so alien it's completely indecipherable. We'll have to get our top etymologists on this immediately--it may be the missing link we've been looking for. Dazuro 21:09, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Silver Dragon XXVIII - Everybody needs to watch this: The Spoony One's FFVIII Review
TALK - {{{1}}} Veni, vidi, vici.
I'm sure that there will be a US release. You know why? More countries=more money. Besides, why wouldn't they?

As Square-Enix has proven with their many remakes/rereleases, and the Compilation of FF7, they have no qualms milking the franchise. Like SilverDragon said, if it can make them money, it will be released here. That's also why I'm sure there will be a Final Fantasy VI DS some day - it can make them money. Drake Clawfang 02:30, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Silver Dragon XXVIII - Say what you will about his outfit, Kuja is still far better than your precious Sephiroth
TALK - {{{1}}} Veni, vidi, vici.
Can someone cast Haste on Square-Enix so that they make the US release happen sooner?

There is a potential release date for this game of 31 August of 2009. So let's hope it doesn't get pushed back...again.-Shadow 19:37, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

SE of America denied that release date several weeks ago. Diablocon 19:48, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Where did you get that information from?-Shadow 19:58, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

I can't remember the source but here's our news post about it. Diablocon 20:04, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Hey do you think they'll make a PAL version and send it to Australia? -Sencilia

Sjoerd777 - "Wasupp Thundaah!!!"
TALK -
For the EU, it's around September 09, US release has been listed as Q3, and i've not even heard of anything for the AUS version.
Ah well, thanks anyway - Sencilia

Well according to the article and a clerk at the Gamestop in Brea Mall, its officially August 25. Unfortunately, I have to wait my whole figgin' Summer for it but I'm still gonna get it anyways. I've already rerserved a copy. Cobalt Mage 16:59, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Holy crap. The fight angles were like Advent Children. If that kind of thing was playable, would'nt it be awesome? Although i think it's like a replay mode.

TALK - {{{time}}}
It's a video editor. You can record your battles in Dissidia and then edit the camera angles and such. Then you can save it and upload them online so were probably going to see a ton of videos like that online when Dissidia is released in Japan.

[edit] Concerning Shantotto

Cluna 06 - "Got any complaints?"
TALK - Smiles out of embarrassment.
Why is Shantotto's EX Burst named Lost Temper and not Magic Burst?

Find out here! [1]

And who's going to be Shantotto's counterpart? It must be some one of the regular non-addon-FFXI ... but I only can find the Shadow Lord as a suitable "partner" ... but isn't that guy a little bit TOO big? IF it is Gabranth, who will be the hero, vaan or Basch. Vaan as Gabranth killed roks or Basch as they are brothers.

Template:LinkSlySora

There will be no counterparts; Shantotto and Garland are special characters. Shantotto's storyline won't even be "linked" to the story of the other characters, and it will probably be like that with Garland too. Apparently both characters are meant to be neutral but Shantotto is closer to Cosmos than Chaos and Garland is closer to Chaos than Cosmos. Anyway, let's hope Garland has an alternate costume with no helmet even though that would be kinda spoilery for people who didn't play FFXII yet (it's the most recent installment after all). @Cecil: Go to the Dissidia website, click on characters and you'll get two semi-circles, one with the Roman numerals, and one with Japanese in, click the one on the right (one with just Japanese text). Though this does not prove there will be four more characters. Could be ten more, could be two more (Shantotto and Gabranth ain't on there/there yet)

This

lol Ultima love the comments hehe, yeah that is some update! For those who still havent seen it or cant due to internet/flash problems i'll explain, The "Characters" section now has an entirely new area accessible by clicking on the half-circle with japanese kanji on it(much like the old roman numeral one on the left, who Shantotto is now present) located in the lower-right hand side of the screens display. Its pretty much a 'face' display of all 20 story characters in order of their respective game, much like most fighting games 'character-select' screen format. Theres 3 rows, the top 2 having 8 characters and the bottom having a centered 4(leaving 2 spaces on each side blank/4 total)<<<probley where Shantotto and Gabranth will go. Once a character is highlighted/selected it opens a new window that shows their full offical art, FF logo(their from) and a brief discribtion on how that character fights as well as 3 to 4 screenshots of them doing signature attacks/specials. Im now speculationg the idea of Chaos and Cosmos being playable/unlockable as theres still two spaces left, but idk bout that...wont be waiting long to find out nether, TWO DAYS LEFT BABY! As for other updates theres now 2 new PSP/wallpapers available, one of the heros with Cosmos, the other the villains with Chaos(both are 'face' images of the characters). Its a grand update showing many new images, such as my man Golbez firing a hella HADOKEN into Cecils face, HA! - Xenoheart 19:51, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

TALK - Time to take over the world! Let my shadow be casted among all who obey and oppose me! {{{time}}}
Should we creat a page for the 12 and soon to be 13 worlds of Final Fantasy? If there is already a page for this then never mind.

I want to know why the main page still says that the meaning of that line is still unknown. "There are 12 worlds" obviously refers to the fact that there are twelve main Final Fantasy titles currently out and "the 13th is about to be revealed" is talking about Final Fantasy XIII, which is/was not out at the time of Dissidia's release.

[edit] Alternate Costumes

This guy hacked the game and posted a vid of all available costumes for heroes and villains.

Check it out if you're interested. Be warned tho, SPOILERS (duh)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73Z1uhO2-uo

There really isn't any spoilers. From what I've seen, it's anywhere from 2-3 costume changes. Some alt. costumes are the Amano Artworks of the char., Weapon Changes, original game forms (In the case of Tidus and Jecht), and color changes as well. -Azul81677 07:54, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

It's spoilers for those who want to earn the costumes themselves.

Yup, but it was already posted on the forums. Alarielle

Nubecielo - Check my FF Stuff
TALK - 18:45, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Each character only has ONE and only one alternate costume. Those who seems to have more of one has a logical explanation: EX-MODE. When you display the costumes, you see in this order. Original, Original EX-MODE, Alt. Alt EX-MODE, Crystal Mode (minor enemy in Story Mode. For example, Onion has 2 EX-Mode Costumes (Ninja and Sage), Cecil can swap into Paladin and Dark K, Cloud change his weapon in Ex (Buster -> Ultima) and in his alt. costume (First_Tsurugi -> First_Tsurugi Complete)

EDIT: There isn't a hack, this is a Museum Options where you can see all characters models.

[edit] Dissidia Wikia

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that i'm working on a wiki about Final Fantasy:Dissidia. It's a lot of work translating the entire game, so if you want, go ahead and link to it (it's dissidia.wikia ) - i'm not gonna set up a link myself since that would be self-promotion. Other people have to decide on it's relevance. --Elvaron 17:40, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

As epic as DISSIDIA is, does it realy need a whole Wikija all to itself? Jamiemitsu 15:14, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Wait a minute, is it a translation Wiki or just a regular Wiki? If it's a translation Wiki, great, they're really helpful (was of great help during my original Japanese run of FFXII). However, if it's a regular wiki like this one, I don't really see the point. Diablocon 15:17, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
Translation Wiki. There's no english version of Dissidia yet, so we translate everything, from item names to descriptions, with the japanese original names included for reference. It's basically a tool to connect translators and users. --Elvaron 20:08, 3 January 2009 (UTC)
This is a great idea, if it's only a translation wiki. I hope you'll be able to complete the most soon. Alarielle

The problem is, what happens with the English version comes out? I really don't see the need for Dissidia to get its own wiki. It's deep, but I doubt it's that deep. Drake Clawfang 19:10, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

Translation wikias become obsolete as a english releases come out, and Dissidia is not the first my friend. Just keep covering Dissidia on its fullest, and use the Dissidia Wiki for reference until summer. - Henryacores^ 20:22, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

We might want to make pages specific to the dissidia incarnations of characters and stages. Just a thought. SilverDragon28 19:16, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit] New Interview explains some things

Bahamut-shin - ...vivo en mi propia realidad
TALK - {{{time}}}
So a journalist, not sure form which magazine (it wasn't famitsu oddly enough) managed to interview Nomura about a few things, besides things like "Future projects, FFvsXIII and the KH series (Which he gave no new information on either of those two) he did shed some light on Dissidia, probably because the game was already out. Some info's kind of like a "Oh we already know this" others might spark tiny interests. SO here's a brief summary.

Nomura also notes that the game was only under his supervision, however he did lend a helping hand in some parts before the interview started.

1 - Sephiroth was going to have his final from from Final Fantasy VII, but the ammount of data put into this form would have cuased the game to load whenever Ex-Bursting.

2 - Seifer was a candidate due to having a close relation / rival against Squall. However due to their very similar fighting styles Seifer got scratched off and Ultimecia was brought in.

3 - Seymour was going to be placed into Dissidia and was our first choice for a character selection in Final Fantasy 10. However conflict began soon after the decision leading to thoughts such as "Should Yuna be the main character, or Tidus." From there it was decided to be Tidus, and Seymour was removed due to the fact Tidus had no seperate issue with Seymour, withuot Yuna being involed and therefore was thrown in.

4 - Ultimecia's Ex-mode was going to be her final form in Final Fantasy VIII, including her Ex-burst being the "Apocalypse" spell. This was an early idea scratched and never got passed the concept art form. The reason being the same as Sephiroth's final form.

5 - Choosing a representative for Final Fantasy XII took on the thought path the same way Final Fantasy XI was presented. "A good / evil character with enough neutrality in them to not be considered on one side only."

6 - Kain was already a finished model, and had his own moveset, however we later scratched him with Cecil. Zeromus was also going to appear, however in a more human form. He was later scratched for Golbeza to tell the story of the two brothers instead.

7 - As shown with Gabranth and Shantotto's only scene in the game, there has been more then one battle between Chaos and Cosmos where help was needed. This game is to tell the story of the final conflict between the two.

8 - The character's that are grasped from each of their worlds memories are altered by Cosmos and Chaos, all events that happened in this conflict are then erased just like the others. (Others?)

9 - When asked if Dissidia had any true relationship to the FInal Fantasy series, he only said that was up to the player to decide.

10 - When asked if there would be another game portraying any of the other wars in between Cosmos and Chaos. Nomura commented with "It would be interesting, however there are many other projects going on. So we'll leave this game as an anniversary special."

11 - When asked about Future Projects in general, Nomura did state that the Winter 2009 Festival (which is in February / March) will hold surprising news and new playable demo characters for Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days. Also that the first gameplay image of Versus XIII will be released to the public in the middle of this year. (Besides that he didn't say anything new about those two games).

So that's basically it.

Some interesting stuff. Nice to see the thought processes going on behind the scenes.

Now my post is about to contain some spoilers on Dissidia's (awesome) ending.

  • The character's that are grasped from each of their worlds memories are altered by Cosmos and Chaos, all events that happened in this conflict are then erased just like the others. (Others?)

So that means the game can easily be a prequel to the original Final Fantasy. At the end we see the WoL walk towards Cornelia with Crystal in hand (and sweep to the awesome moment when the ending turns into the original's intro), so for all we know he's standing in Cornelia with a crystal he can't remember getting, ready to be drafted as one of the warriors. XD

  • When asked if Dissidia had any true relationship to the FInal Fantasy series, he only said that was up to the player to decide.

We'll I've decided it's the prequel to the original. :P

Interesting stuff about the cut cocnepts and characters. So Kain came that close to being in the game. If he had a finished model and moveset, shouldn't be too hard to add him as a special character for the NA release...

Seriously, hope they release some concept art of the game in time to come. It'd be nice to see how Seifer and Kain would have looked, and Sephiroth and Ultimecia in their boss forms.

you know what? I bet they'll do the same thing as others. They have some extra time before the release date of Na, so they add special stuff. Then the jap version gets international, and even MORE special shit. Im with drake on that one. KAIN FTW

Might want to hold off adding any information from this to the articles. Schala-Kitty looked up the source and found out it was false so unless something Official comes out this info is bull. Some of the info from this did sound odd anyways. For example they were strict on the Main Hero concept so why they would decide at first to use Kain sounds very strange.

I also thought that. Kain and Zeromus representing IV ? As they say it's main villain VS main hero everywhere ? Kain doesn't fit that. Zeromus... either. Zemus at least.

Drake Clawfang - You've got guts. I like that in a victim.
TALK - 15:44, 8 January 2009 (UTC)
I can't recall where I heard this, but I read that Gabranth and Shantotto were chosen for bonus characters because they didn't really fit fully on the side of either good or evil, as they had inclinations for both. More hope for Kain, maybe?

More likely the person who wrote this peppered it with real facts to make it sound more convincing.

They are cards that grant various effects when playing through Duel Colosseum. Like, for instance, a Knight card grants one extra card selection slot to choose from or a Time Mage card increases your card luck by one. I guess there could be an article on them, but I would wait to hear from a staff member before doing one though.

[edit] NA Site Update

FinalFighterA+ - ...has too much time on his hands
TALK - time? {{{time}}}
The NA site has changed from the rather cheesy "fantasy has no limited form" bit, to "What will you fight for" with a scale and a silloette of Cosmos and Chaos and the Dissidia music we are all so familiar with, and the words coming soon under it. Though the DQ5 preview site had coming soon on it as soon as DQ4 cam out in america and it just recently got updated so I wouldn't hold my breath. But still progress is progress.

[edit] Main Character

Question for anyone who played the game - is it safe to say Warrior of Light is the main character? I realized every character gets their storyline and moment in the spotlight, but he seems particularly emphasized as the Warrior of Cosmos closest to her, and the leader of the heroes. Drake Clawfang 05:59, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

No. Shade Impulse doesn't emphasise in any character other than Chaos, and the Destiny Odysseys are connected. Also, Cosmos appears to most heroes in Destiny Odyssey storyline (Warrior of Light, Tidus, Zidane, Onion Knight, and more I can't recall). Like the first Final Fantasy, it's safe to say that the main characters are the Warriors of "Light", and that the main antagonist is Chaos himself. - Henryacores^ 10:17, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Dissidia Before Final Fantasy I

"In the secret ending of the game, unlocked after obtaining all the Reports, Cosmos is shown to be alive in her world. She has a discussion with Cid of the Lufaine, implying that the events of the game are a prologue to Final Fantasy."

What? How can be so sure about that, the max we could say for sure is the report's story appens before Final Fantasy (i saw them). Not Dissidia itself. And the secret ending doesn't states anything of that, just a mere talk about new cycles that doesn't prove anything like that. 82.155.209.206 00:30, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

... I'm the guy of the last post, i logged in now, Here's the translation of the secret ending:

Cid: The long war has finally concluded...

  • Scene opens on Cosmos sitting on her throne.*

Cid: Or should I say it regretfully concluded?

  • Cid laughs.*

Cid: It cannot end like this...

Cosmos: The world has a new wish.

Cid: As long as the world exists, there will always be seeds of conflict.

Cid: Things like "harmony" and "discord" are born from the "thoughts and feelings" of man.

Cosmos: Is there... nothing that can be done about it?

Cid: Even with the power of the Lufein, this problem cannot be solved.

Cid: You know that truth well...

Cosmos: The future...

Cid: Then, let us go.

Cid: As the chosen goddess... Restore the cycle again.

Cid: Continue the journey of our story towards the ultimate illusion...

While the reports states events before FFI on the world of FFI, i think we can't say the same about dissidia with the secret ending as "prove". After i read the secret ending a bit more, i think the true meaning of it is telling us that conflict in the "FINAL FANTASY" Universe didn't end (AKA Square gonna make more FF :P) and we all now what "Ultimate Illusion" means... It's possible that Dissidia appens before FFI (Which IMO doesn't make sense, but that just me) but the secret ending is not prove of that. CookiePinguy 09:24, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

I seriously doubt it's canon, as SE even implied that it isn't. It's up to the player to decide if it is or not a prequel, and thus, this should only be covered on the wiki as an hypothesis. - Henryacores^ 12:27, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

I agree, Dissidia is more likely a "What if" as someone stated. This whole theory started with the ending of dissidia, by WOL going to Cornelia, and some people interpreted that as the begining of FFI, but it's looks like just a reference and the return of a hero to home (like the other 9 heros did, and besided that scene on final fantasy appens with 4 WOL and AFTER leaving Cornelia). And when apeared translations of the reports that tells about Cid of Lufaine and his wife story before "FFI" (they mention the Lufains, Crystals, a vilage on a wing of a hawk, Lukahn prophecy of the 4WOL, and a boy that looks being Garland). Some people thought again that Dissidia main story too. Maybe it's better to put it as an hypothesis on trivia or something like that. CookiePinguy 13:48, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

TALK - 20:21, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Really old topic. "Dissidia" comes from the latin word "Dissidens", which originated the french word "Dissident" and the portuguese word "Dissidente", the latter meaning, roughly, "one that causes conflict".

Thus, Dissidia means conflict.

Actually, the word is "Dissidium". Dissidia is the plural form of it, thus the title means Conflicts. Bluetash 23:20, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

A person who formally opposes the current political structure, opposes the political group in power, opposes the policies of the political group in power, or opposes current laws.

It comes from the latin "dissidere" meaning to sit apart. as in to disagree." The English word "Dissident" is also derived from it via the French word. 92.236.212.73 01:44, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

TALK - With each passing day, the world finds new and exciting ways to kill a man.
Well you can be certain that Steve Burton & George Newbern will be reprising their roles as Cloud & Sephiroth respectively. The only other characters we can be halfway certain of are Tidus (James Arnold Taylor), Jecht (Gregg Berger) & Judge Gabranth (Michael Rodgers) to have their original actors. However I do agree with you. Across from the first 2 mentioned nothing is as of yet for certain.

Edit: Also forgot. Cecil Harvey (Yuri Lowenthal) & Golbez (Anthony Landor) may or may not reprise their roles. also, I'm betting that Chaos will likely be voiced by Sean Schemmel (the voice of Black Doom in Shadow the Hedgehog) since most times evil gods have a more monstrous voice in English than Japanese.

[edit] KH Sequel?

It's interesting for someone to say that there could be a Dissidia sequel with Kingdom Hearts characters because Nomura just said in an interview that Dissidia was originally set to be a KH game.. But because Disney did not like the idea of their trademarked characters (Mickey, Donald, Goofey, etc.) fighting each other, it was set up for Final Fantasy instead. Yeah..

[edit] Combo Video

An exclusive combovideo was posted on Gametrailers, seen here. It features action and voices from the upcoming localized version, unfortunatly its has "THE MESSANGER" playing over the whole thing so its hard to get a good bead on the voices, but it does give a good look at translated move names, and the reblanced gameplay (some characters have been slowed while it seems other have been sped up)

[edit] Dissidia etymology

I'm a native speaker of portuguese and I must say that Dissidia reminds a lot more of Dissídio than Dissidente, and while Dissidente means "the one who causes conflict" (sort of, literally could be one in the conflict, not necessarily the causer), but Dissídio means the conflict itself! Also, I'm studying law school and I have small knowledge in latin, which, by the way, includes Dissidium (largely used in law terminology), meaning the conflict, not the conflictant people...

I know nothing about language, but I do know enough to recognize the influence Latin has had on many other languages. I wouldn't be surprised at all to learn that other languages also have their own variations of the word. Drake Clawfang 17:48, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

-English Name-
-Japanese-
"-Fan Translation-"

Once we have the official English names, the fan translations no longer matter. Eric Ryan Jones 09:03, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
Then we add the fan-translations here but keep the Japanese right? If so, since there ARE new moves in the English version and they will soon be added to a new title in Japan called "Universal Tuning", do we note that too in the tables? (This also concerns all other tables concerning Dissidia) --Silver Mage 09:37, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Chaos' Factions

Kai - ...is going in!
TALK - Ah... now?
I've been thinking about this for a while: it appears that the Warriors of Chaos are somewhat divided in three factions:
  • 1) The Destruction Faction (Cloud of Darkness; Exdeath; Kefka and Kuja): those who want to destroy everything. Their reasons differ but the objective is the same.
  • 2) The Greed Faction (The Emperor; Ultimecia and Sephiroth): those with lust for power and control over others.
  • 3) The Love/Family Faction (Golbez and Jecht): those who fight for their family members and loved ones.

And Garland? Well... I'm not quite sure where he belongs... must likely in the "Destruction Faction". What you think?

ZEROX - Your life means nothing to me.
TALK -
How is Sephiroth involve with the greed faction? All he care about is defeating Cloud, and he not even a part of The Emperor and Ultimecia plans.
Kai - ...is going in!
TALK - Ah... now?
Well... Sephiroth wants to become a god and find another planet with jenova, right? Defeating Cloud is a way to achieve that. Even if he doesn't take part of the emperor and ultimecia's plan he is mostly motivated by greed and need to manipulate cloud don't you think?
ZEROX - Your life means nothing to me.
TALK -
Wont he be a part of the destruction faction sense his plans involve Jenova who is a plant destroyer? Also does this have anything to do with Dissidia, I know this is his plans in VII but does talk about in Dissidia?
Kai - ...is going in!
TALK - Ah... now?
Hmmmm... Maybe... I never pictured Sephiroth as a destroyer, he keeps tring to get more powerful. In Dissidia he seems simply obessed with Cloud (jeez!!) that is wanting to control somebody that's why I thought of him in the greed faction... I thought that the emperor and ultimecia saw his greed too, that was why they asked him to join them. That's only my opinion though.
ZEROX - Your life means nothing to me.
TALK -
I think he like Garland. He not really part of any faction, and he only does his own thing which is torment Cloud. And he may want to destroy everything, but he want to do it alone, he deosn't need the help of Cloud of Darkness, Exdeath, Kefka and Kuja same reson why he deosn't need the help of The Emperor and Ultimecia.

The Gametrailers review states outright "no internet play". So either they got a different preview copy than IGN did, or the "Online Lobby" is used exclusively for Ad-Hoc.

As much as I'd like internet play, the latter seems more likely. (Though at least there's a way to convert Ad-Hoc to online.)

(ADDENDUM 06:21, 22 August 2009 (UTC)) And now GameSpot's review goes on to specifically mention the Online Lobby, and that its name is misleading, and that there is no internet play, directly confirming that the Online Lobby is used for Ad-Hoc.
