Should we add gameplay images and I haven;t played Final Fantasy XIII so is this image showing Lightning with her crystal or something like that. --BurstDragon 08:38, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

It would be a good idea to add gameplay images. Also I'm really not sure, but It might be a crystal dispersing from her hand. Either that or a spell :/ Koharu Nami 08:46, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

Warriors Side[]

I noticed that Kain is on the side of Cosmos and so is Cecil, could it be that there would be two warriors of Cosmos and Chaos from each game. Nomura wanted Sazh to be in Dissidia's sequel so will he be with Lightning? --BurstDragon 07:27, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

This is just speculation on my part, but i think that Each FF is going to have a hero, villan, and then 1 extra character with ties to both. Lightnings the main hero of 13, Galenth is the main villan. i think Sazh will be included as 13's extra charater. as well as kain serving as the "Inbetwene character" of 4. but thats all speculation on my part. Ixbran 07:41, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

It's a little too earl to start making guesses as to what will be included and what will not; the development crew may not even know that yet. Just let it simmer for a bit, and when tangible information is released, we'll see what we have. Likeacupcake 07:44, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

You're right, I think SE will announce the characters in the game during TGS, they should include Infrastructure mode this time. --BurstDragon 07:51, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

what would that mode be, exactly? Ixbran 08:03, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

Online multiplayer. --BurstDragon 08:09, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

oh, okay. yea that would be cool. they could use Playstation Network for the server for online play, like they do with Phantasy star Portable 2. Ixbran 08:22, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

According to some rumours circulating on other forums is that each game will have a good, bad and neutral character for each headed by Cosmos, Chaos and a third entity (shinryu was mentioned as the one erasing the battlefields afterwards in Dissidia so...?) respectively. And that it may include characters from FF14 and possibly some spin-offs like FF13versus or FF10-2 which could mean about 40-50 characters. Balthierfan 10:59, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

Key word; 'rumors'. Nothing factual at this date. Discussing rumors is useless; it can not be used to uncover anything factual, and are merely speculation. Likeacupcake 11:20, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

At this stage all we have is speculation. and rumours occasionally have some element of truth to them (even if its sheer luck/coincindence). Balthierfan 11:41, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

Still, with so little info out, there's no reason to believe them just yet. Bluestarultor 14:53, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

Wait until TGS. That's all I can say. Hopefully we'll get some new info then. But I'm excited as the ability finally play as the real Dragoon, Kain Highwind. Oh... I hope Yuna and Celes are included too! <-- Yuna fanboy.  TheBlueDragoon Dissicon ff10 Yun119:43, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

Since she once fought for the other side, is there a possibility that Celes will fight on Chaos's side? I'd hate to imagine what would happen if that squid-thing called Ultros fought alongside Kefka. Werehog 12:55 PM 9/13/2010 (UTC)
Don't forget that Terra fought for Gesthal (albeit against her will) as well. I just want to see my girl Yuna. Although I am VERY excited to see Lightning playable. I hated the story of FFXIII, but the characters and battle system were too good.  TheBlueDragoon Dissicon ff10 Yun120:43, September 13, 2010 (UTC)
I'm more hyped on who Lightning might fight as an opposing enemy. Also, I don't know if Gesthal will be playable. Werehog 1:59 PM 9/13/2010 (UTC)
If I had to guess, Lightning's enemy will be Barthandelus. Or possibly Orphan. That's my guess. But I'm just going to wait and see what SE reveals in coming months. The news of a Dissidia sequel was the best news I've heard all week, considering the horrible weekend.  TheBlueDragoon Dissicon ff10 Yun122:52, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

I was wrong earlier about several occasions about Dissidia 2, and many people saw my mistakes. So I just wanted to know, is Dissidia 012 a real game or is it another prank scan? Werehog 11:59 AM 9/13/2010 (UTC)

Removing Some Original Characters[]

60px-ChibiKasumi.png

There's really no reason to remove anyone. When you have all the resources and coding already done, it's a waste to not just reuse it if you're making a sequel for the same system. Think of it like Spira in X and X-2. X made a pretty world, X-2 blew it wide open by taking off your lead boots. Same will probably go here. Bluestarultor 03:20, September 14, 2010 (UTC)

You have a point, Square does reuse a lot stuff in sequels and remakes. NeoZEROX 03:24, September 14, 2010 (UTC)
I'm a programmer. Recycling everything you can is the basic norm of the field. The more you can reuse, the less work you have to do. ;) Bluestarultor 03:32, September 14, 2010 (UTC)
It's fun for me to say this so, "My money's on Zidane getting the boot." Werehog 9:32 PM 9/13/2010 (UTC)
I doubt Zidane is getting the boot. Squares gunna just add Vivi and call it. Not sure what new Chaos warrior they will add to 9 or if they are adding at all, My money is on the Black Waltz (makes sense since Vivi and the Black Waltz did have conflict between them or something.) I doubt Garland will be it cause that will just be weird having two Garlands in the game. And if they are taking out characters for new ones then Terra maybe in danger and get taken out for Celes or Locke but don't hold your breath, I highly doubt they are taking out anyone, just adding alot more people and more battle areas. Title[]

Is the page supposed to be called "Dissidia [duodecim] 012: Final Fantasy"? "Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy", going by the Japanese name? "Dissidia 012 Duodecim -Final Fantasy-? Argh, I hate you Square and your unholy love of awful names. — YuanSalutActa 07:55, September 14, 2010 (UTC)

The official site writes the maintitle as "Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy", in all caps at least. The pronunciation for "012" was meant to be "duodecim" following the given kana. IMHO the status quo is better. BLUER一番 08:00, September 14, 2010 (UTC)
Should the bolded title in the article be changed to reflect this, or a note be made? — YuanSalutActa 08:07, September 14, 2010 (UTC)
I'm speculating that they add the "[duodecim]" wording to tell people that "012" isn't "Zero Twelve" or "Zero One Two", but that they don't mean for the wording to be part of the title since it makes it redundant. (This sounds like the whole Japanese kana-romaji redundancy discussion in Wikipedia!) Pagetitle maintain to reflect officially given title, but the cause of "duodecim" should be noted. Ok? BLUER一番 08:13, September 14, 2010 (UTC)
Sounds fine to me. — YuanSalutActa 08:15, September 14, 2010 (UTC)
Just a small query tho, wouldn't it suppose to be "duodeCim" with a hard C instead? BLUER一番 08:20, September 14, 2010 (UTC)

Change in Attacks?[]

People who placed dissidia would know that some of Cecil attack moves are reference of Kain, so would Cecil be having those moves replace or would he still have it? 115.64.52.197 03:31, September 15, 2010 (UTC)

Either Kain will be given moves that are different from Cecil, or Cecil will be completely redesigned. 9:54 PM 9/14/2010 (UTC)
From what I saw, Cecil is going to get some new moves in place of his old ones since Kain is going to be in the new Dissidia. Redfangofflame

Interview with Nomura translated[]

i found this on live journal, a translation of the interview with Nomura concerning Dissidia Duodecim

---

Kouichi Yamadera will reprise his role as Kain (from the DS version of FF4)

Sugawara Bunta will reprise his role as Cid (as the narrator for Dissidia)

Lightning will be able to use Paradigm Shifts (Optima Changes in the Japanese version), changing between Commando (Attacker), Ravager (Blaster), and Medic (Healer) using L and R.

The new Assist System allows you to call in an ally, allowing for up to four characters to be on the field at once.

Pressing L+o when one bar of the Assist Gauge will summon an ally for one Brave Attack. Pressing L+□ when both bars are full to summon them for an HP Attack.

Assists can break combos.

(Translator's Note: I'm not entirely sure about the next two items, but it sounds like you can't use the Assist System while in EX-Mode.)

Pursuit times have been made shorter.

All the characters from the previous game will return. (this also means Shantotto and Gabranth)

Kain and Lightning are not the only new characters. It will be more than just a few.

All characters will have three costumes. (1 Normal and 2 Alternates each)

There will be new summons added.

All the maps from the first game are back and there will be twice as many music tracks.

Communications Mode (AKA 2 Player Mode) has been stregthened.

Save Data from the first game can be transfered over.

The meaning behind "012" is a spoiler.

The details about the Story Mode and the system it will use are a secret.

There will be more retro/original game music tracks.

Release is not too far off.

A secret gameplay element will debut in the TGS Demo.

Team Battles[]

SO I´ll looked close at the 2 images that has been uploaded of the scans from the magazine and noticed the first scan shows 3 images of Cloud vs Terra, I noticed both Kefka and Sephiroth stands in the Largest picture, the third or the one you would descripe as most to the left and it continues to the second scan as the top left picture. Could this be Team Battles of some sort? Maybe Teaming up with a CPU controlled character? I doubt its an attack. --BahamutZero 12:40, September 15, 2010 (GMT+1)

Never Mind, Should have readed Nomura interview first, Its an Ally attack. Should I just delete this section? --BahamutZero 12:45, September 15, 2010 (GMT+1)

Gameplay Controls[]

[1] This one is (obviously) only in japanese, but still i think that it should be added to article. SquallisbetterthanCloud 13:08, September 15, 2010 (UTC)

Andriasanghas posted a translation of the controls they're still the same, Lightning can change roles by pressing L+R if she can heal herself in battle does that mean other characters will be able to do the same? Is anyone going to TGS?--BurstDragon 15:16, September 15, 2010 (UTC)

Is there a good reason some characters are not in the table?[]

I ask because I was going to change it, but then I hadn't gone through the sources and won't have time to until later. The article says everyone is returning, so I assumed it was safe, but then I considered FF3, which was missing, and realized WoL may not be the generic one this time around, so I stopped and decided to bring it up to the public. Bluestarultor 14:50, September 15, 2010 (UTC)

Don't you think...[]

...that it's time someone starting writing separate Dissidia articles for Lightning and Kain like all the other characters have? YamiNoBahamut 16:20, September 15, 2010 (UTC)

Do we really have enough info for that, though? It was only just announced. We'll be sitting with stubs for quite some time and it'll only encourage people to put down rumors and outright garbage. Bluestarultor 16:25, September 15, 2010 (UTC)
There isn't too much, but if someone can read Japanese I think this image shows some attacks for the characters, also I wonder what the third outift for Cloud would be SOLDIER 1st Class, Shinra Grunt or Miss Cloud?. --BurstDragon 17:46, September 15, 2010 (UTC)
For Lightning, there's the Commando "Smash Upper / Launch", "Ruin", "Ruinga", "Area Blast / Blitz", "Impact Break / Smite", and something that reads "Bureizurashhu", then Ravager "Thundaga", "Aerora", "Thunder", "Scene Drive/Army of One", "Fire", "Blizzara(?)", "Watera". then Medic "Cure", and "Cureara/Curasa". BLUER一番 18:04, September 15, 2010 (UTC)
"Bureizurashhu" would better transliterate as "Blaze Rush." Best guess is that it's some sort of sword strike given the name of her default sword, but it may get renamed. Bluestarultor 18:58, September 15, 2010 (UTC)
I saw thisimage which details the moves for the characters playable at TGS, I noticed that the nub is shown pointing toward the left and right, does it mean that 012 will have 5 brave and health attacks for ground and ariel combat?--BurstDragon 06:18, September 16, 2010 (UTC)
Someone started a Lightning (Final Fantasy XIII)/Dissidia (PSP) and Kain Highwind/Dissidia (PSP), apart from attacks there is so little information worth adding. Siliconera did a translation so Kain has Cyclone, Crash Dive and Spiral Blow for Brave Attacks and Jump, Gungir, Dragon Fang and Sky Grander, his EX Move (I'm guessing EX-Burst) is Dragon Sword a blood weapon type.BurstDragon 18:59, September 15, 2010 (UTC)

New Stages[]

Judging by one of the latest screenshots it would seem that orphan's cradle is a playable area. I wonder if any other stages will be added for previous installments, or whether XI and XII will get their own unique stages? Mog&Boko 19:06, September 15, 2010 (UTC)

More Info![]

Hey guys! Thanks to Cluna we find out more info about Dissidia 012, like the new Assist System and Orphan's Cradle is one the new stages. Here's the like. [2] NeoZEROX 23:37, September 15, 2010 (UTC) Edit: Nevermind you guys already know about this. -_- I feel like a idiot now... NeoZEROX 23:46, September 15, 2010 (UTC)

I've reading this Sony' Live TGS Blog, go to 13:54 Dissidia will have connectivity with 3rd Birthday and Kingdom Hearts for downloading costumes should this information be added to the main article if yes, where? Engadget shows a 012 screenshot that appears like the assiting character will have their own health bar.--BurstDragon 06:23, September 16, 2010 (UTC)
Siliconeraposted an article regarding the connectivity feature, the 3rd Birthday will have a code which makes Lightning change into Aya Brea and I guess with Birth by Sleep could alternate outfit is his Kingdom Hearts Vincent outfit.--BurstDragon 06:52, September 16, 2010 (UTC)

Character pages[]

I'm just curious: When Dissidia 012 comes out, how are the character pages going to be handled? Several characters are allegedly going to have noticeable changes made to them, so how will the differences between Dissidia and Dissidia 012 be reflected on the current character "/Dissidia" articles? This may be a stupid suggestion, but perhaps an entire set of "/Dissidia 012" articles could be made? It would set apart characters who didn't appear in the original Dissidia, removing the possibility of, say, a situation where someone says he can't figure out how to unlock Kain in Dissidia. On the downside, the "/Dissidia 012" articles for characters who did appear in the original Dissidia could end up being near-identical to the "/Dissidia" articles and the differences in their statistics, additional alternate costumes, possible new trivia exclusive to Dissidia 012, etc., could be negligible to constitute a separate article. So, I guess what I've gone off on an initially-unintended tangent about is merely a much more simple question: Will Dissidia 012's entire roster get its own character pages or not, and, if not, can Dissidia 012's changes be integrated seamlessly into the existing "/Dissidia" articles? Teamrocketspy621 00:54, September 16, 2010 (UTC)

It depends on how the characters are handled. We could likely retool the subpages to incorporate the 012 info, which I think would be the best course of action. Doreiku Kuroofangu 01:07, September 16, 2010 (UTC)
It's actually a really interesting question. In most cases, the old cast in the sequels is kept in one page with the new character info being displayed in the original game's template, or, in X-2's case, in a modified template as well when significant character data changes result from system changes. Then system tweaks have a page section. I think it would be easier to go the X-2 route than make whole new pages. Bluestarultor 01:44, September 16, 2010 (UTC)
I also think the already existing /Dissidia pages could handle the 012 info as well, although the Trivia and Allusion sections are bit curious...that should they be game-specific or not. Most allusions are probably going to be in both games, but the sections are already way long; add twice as many allusions and trivias and it'll just look like madness. If the Dissidia 012 info will be added to the already existing /Dissidia pages, I think Lightning and Kain should also have /Dissidia subpages instead of /Dissidia 012, because the /Dissidia could refer to the Dissidia series as a whole, and not just the specific game.Keltainentoukokuu 02:19, September 16, 2010 (UTC)Keltainentoukokuu
That makes a lot of sense, but then brings up the issue of presentation. We're already picking colors (VOTE FOR MINE! XD) for Duodecim and it might be strange having that setup when they weren't in the first one. Then again making their pages only Duodecim complicates the returners, so I guess you're right. As for Terra's alt outfit they could've done it so much better, like how she has her hair worn down at end or something?Victorious44 14:56, September 17, 2010 (UTC)

I bet Zidane second alt outfit is Ed's outfit from Fullmetal Alchemist sense Lightning has a Aya outfit, right? NeoZEROX 16:41, September 17, 2010 (UTC)

Have 3rd alts been shown for Tidus and others yet? Because I would have thought it would be totally appropriate to give him Shuyin's outfit. That would be insane! Definitely Tifa. Looks like the Planet's Core. Woohoo! Now I just want to see Yuna and Ashe in Duodecim! TheBlueDragoon 19:12, September 17, 2010 (UTC)
I'm hoping for Yuna too, I think if they put the FF-X Yuna then her Brave Attacks would be based on her Aeon' special attack and HP attacks the Aeon' overdrives. --BurstDragon 19:28, September 17, 2010 (UTC)
I'd like more story important characters involved like Yuna, Ashe, Vanille, Rinoa, Seymour etc. Rydia, Faris, Fang and Rikku would be nice...purely for my own enjoyment :P. Yuna for sure SHOULD be in this game. I'd also hate to see Ashe lose her position to the lameness that is Vaan. --BoAKaNRikkusmallsig 01:54, September 20, 2010 (UTC)
Rinoa would be a great candidate from a gameplay standpoint. Her weaponry would be a great new mechanic to include, as would her Angelo abilities. Angel Wing could totally be her EX. I really do hope she makes it in. Yuna could be interesting either as a Summoner or in her X-2 capacity, but my money would be on X-2. Summoning is sort of already in there and her Aeons would need to be reduced to regular attacks unless they pulled a Carl (from BlazBlue) with her. On the other hand, her X-2 setup would give her a wide range of abilities and Floral Fallal for her EX. Either one would be interesting, IMO. Bluestarultor 02:04, September 20, 2010 (UTC)
Everyone's hoping for a bunch of cool and famous characters. I just want Vivi and Cid Raines to appear in 012 (and even if Vaan is chosen, I would understand that since he's from Final Fantasy XII, the lamest of the Final Fantasy series). Werehog 7:13 PM 9/19/2010 (UTC)
Vivi and Cid Raines ARE cool and famous characters. Vivi was rated second best of the entire series. The only thing stopping him from taking the top was Sephiroth, who they may as well have handed the position. Besides, that's kind of the point of Dissidia, now isn't it? ;) Bluestarultor 02:14, September 22, 2010 (UTC)

HP Cap break?[]

I don't know, if anyone noticed it yet, but it seems that the max HP cap of 9999 has been lifted. SquallisbetterthanCloud 18:40, September 16, 2010 (UTC)

thats the assist Bar. when one bar is full you can summon another character to help you, performing a BP attack. when both are full you can summon an ally to perform an HP attack.Ixbran 19:22, September 16, 2010 (UTC)

SquallisbetterthanCloud is referring to the numbers to the right and left of those bars that have been circled - the circled bar is from the original image. --84.250.61.217 19:28, September 16, 2010 (UTC)

They may have introduced the break HP cap because some would transfer their save file and have their previous characters start with whatever progress they had made. --BurstDragon 19:43, September 16, 2010 (UTC)

I've made another one this one with the colors Drake pick out, let me know which is better, I like the second one because the white is hard sometimes. NeoZEROX 03:33, September 17, 2010 (UTC)

I like the second one much better, but where did Drake pick the colors? I was looking in the Manual of Style talk, but Drake never made a post there. Bluestarultor 04:10, September 17, 2010 (UTC)

Second one is easier on my eyes. I like that one better, but like I said, I care more about info than templates. TheBlueDragoon 04:48, September 17, 2010 (UTC)
Bluestarultor, it the character template, he went ahead and add color to it. NeoZEROX 05:07, September 17, 2010 (UTC)
Well, I mean yeah. I was just looking for where Drake selected the colors. I know they're not final, but I was helping with suggestions and was curious where the staff showed interest in that set. It does look good, though. Bluestarultor 05:35, September 17, 2010 (UTC)

Chaos[]

Alright, Chaos is on the list of characters, but it's not specified whether he's been confirmed (or "confirmed," as the case may be, and probably is) as a playable character, a boss/Quick Battle NPC, or whatever. He was technically a character in the first game, but he was an non-playable boss. Confirmation that "all characters are returning" hits an odd point when it comes to someone like him. So let's clear this up. Teamrocketspy621 02:02, September 17, 2010 (UTC)

It will probably be a while before we know whether or not Chaos is playable, so it's probably best to leave him off the list. --Adonzo 03:08, September 17, 2010 (UTC)
If that's the case, I'll take him off the list. Teamrocketspy621 17:56, September 17, 2010 (UTC)

Clouds Amano Design is his new Default Costume[]

http://img814.imageshack.us/img814/8216/fdse.png

here are screen shots of cloud from the closed off trailer from TGS. it shows cloud, in a cut scene, featuring him in his Yoshitaka Amano Design.

Yay, no more boring cloud! Ixbran 18:31, September 17, 2010 (UTC)

"Boring Cloud?" I preferred that design over this. I just hope that that the Kingdom Hearts costume won't end up being unavailable in the English version, since the method of obtaining it seems kind of Japan-exclusive right now. :\ Teamrocketspy621 18:44, September 17, 2010 (UTC)
Kingdom Hearts Cloud looks, good? I guess. --Xcanox 14:44, September 20, 2010 (UTC)

Chances are the KH Cloud costume Code for BbS is in the EN version of BbS already. that, or its possable the game will be a Pre-Order Bonus. or maybe the Aya and KH costumes will be just put in the game without having to download it, for us EN players.Ixbran 19:10, September 17, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I saw this but I didn't know where this outfit was from. I have to say I'm glad an Amano design of Cloud is his 3rd alt, but I don't agree with it being his default. I suppose you can always set the costume in your characters settings, but it would be weird when you see him in cutscenes. --RedCloud 02:03, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

Well in the trailer his default outfit looks exactly the same as in the first game, as far as I can tell. Dazuro 03:14, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, and in the CGI bits, Tidus is shirtless and Terra has Moogle-like wings and a tranced or glazed over look about her. But in the battle gameplay scenes they have their normal ones too. So, I suppose it means these new ones are their defaults or it's all up in the air and they could just be there to show off some new alts? I'm hoping Sephiroth gets his original design from VII or Advent Children without the Amano inspired peices. Tifa will most likely get her Advent Children alt and her Crisis Core, younger alt. --182.239.130.47 04:34, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

Why not just use his SOLDIER or Fenrir attire for his defualt? .-. --Xcanox 14:43, September 20, 2010 (UTC)

Terra's Look[]

Now I don't mean her alternate outfit(Which oddly has Moogle-like bat wings on it), but the look on her face in trailer. She seems hypnotized for the entire scene with her. Her mouth is half-open, and her eyes are half-closed. It seems, that she is being controlled by Chaos forces, most likely Emperor, who is seen right before. It is possible, that she has switched sides. SquallisbetterthanCloud 00:26, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

Considering this game is, allegedly, a prequel to the first game, I wouldn't find it odd at all if certain characters were on different sides than in the first game - after all, quite a few of the Chaos warriors were known to have been heroes in the past, like Jecht and Sephiroth (who apparently killed himself in the previous war - ergo, Dissidia 012 - that's going to be an interesting scene). In the original game, apparently it's made clear that Terra was controlled in the past by the Chaos side to fight for them (I haven't yet played her Destiny Odyssey, so I don't know any specifics). Vayne[]

Someone had put him as a confirmed character, and the proof is supposedd to be at Elijah Alexander's Twitter. I couldn't find anything, unless anyone finds out something that confirms the info, it should be deleted. SquallisbetterthanCloud 17:02, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

I think it should be removed, we haven't seen him in the trailer nor did any video gaming website mentioned him, and two Villains from a single game unless they decide to make Vayne a good guy or if the character change their allegiance during the game that lead up to the events of Dissidia.--BurstDragon 17:18, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

Well, they're adding additional characters to the previous instalments. So maybe FF11 and FF12 will catch up and have a hero and villain added, making Gabranth the extra character of the installment, much like Kain and Tifa. Gabranth wasn't neccessarily 'evil', so he might end up teaming with Cosmos? Who knows. --182.239.138.107 03:46, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

Three new arenas?[]

Just out of curiosity, the main page says there's THREE new arenas comfirmed, yet I see two listed. Anyone else notice the discrepancy here? TheBlueDragoon 18:03, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

I've put it yesterday, with an addition of nnew Pandaemonium stage(see above), yet it was removed, because of 'lack of proof that it isn't an addition to current Pandaemonium from Dissidia'. Yeah, bullshiiiet original Pandaemonium is still on the trailer, and there is no proof that old stages will be in any way changed. Sky forteress Bahamut has the same proof than the new Pandaemonium, yet it is still there. The word three was most likely left there by mistake. SquallisbetterthanCloud 18:50, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

Of course the difference here would be that the fortress was not in Dissidia 1 in any form, whereas Pandemonium was :P --84.250.61.217 18:54, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

"there is no proof that old stages will be in any way changed." - you can't prove they won't be either, we don't know either way. Faulty logic = fail. Doreiku Kuroofangu 18:56, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

I'm saying, that the new part of Pandaemonium shown in trailer was NOT present in Dissidia, and because we don't have any official info about it being part of the old stage or otherwise, we can't jump to conclusion so quickly and deny both. The screens above shows, that there is something new in D012, so it should be at least mentioned. What do you think is more possible: Something that wasn't part of original stage and looks completely different, sharing only the same name being a NEW stage, or that it was added to an existing one without any proof confirming nor busting this theory? The truth is: We do not know. Until it will be confirmed oficially, everything we've put here may be false. There is no reason against putting new Pandaemonium on the article. And IF it will be confirmed, that it is, in fact only a part of old stage, then we will simply change it. SquallisbetterthanCloud 19:58, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

WHY WHY WHY[]

Why do you gotta do that, Square? Why do you HAVE to put Vaan in there. There are PLENTY of other characters to choose from! Why not Ashe, or Balthier, or Fran? Jeffrey oBartz Overworld Spriter SSFF6B 21:37, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

None of them are the main character though. I'm not going to argue why Vaan actually plays the role of the main character of the game and the others don't (because they aren't) but that's for another time. An earlier time, this argument happens a lot ;) 88.108.127.4 21:55, September 18, 2010 (UTC)
They should have put Basch, Vossler, Balthier or Ashe.--BurstDragon 22:11, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

I would think that Ashe would be the prime character to include, along with Vayne if possible. For various reasons, she is the main character, as we see her go from happiness to despair, fighting for her freedom, and plus she would have a great addition to the story. Balthier wouldn't fit, Basch is a good second choice, but I'd still prefer Ashe, and Vann was just along for the ride. I mean, he does have a few good moments in the game, but he rarely interacts with Vayne or Gabranth, if none at all. So, if a XII character were to be put in the game, I'd go with Ashe. Dakk Tribal 22:46, September 18, 2010 (UTC)Dakk Tribal

I think they could still include another FFXII character, like Vayne, Ashe or maybe Basch. Also sorry for the trouble in the historyI won't do it again. Fresh Prince of Bel Air 22:53, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

I find it funny that the decision to include Vaan in Duodecim is generating this much hate. He's not a bad character by ANY stretch of the word. Yes he's a bit annoying and he's just along for the ride storywise. Statwise, he's one of the best characters in the game. I didn't see this kind of flaming when Tidus was added, and the majority of people here hate Vaan and Tidus equally. I like them both. Seriously, its not that big a deal. TheBlueDragoon 00:42, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

I have to agree, although I would have liked to see Ashe and Vaan here equally (as both deserve it equally), it's no surprise to me. This is punishment for all of you who hate him. - +DeadlySlashSword+ 01:20, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

Believe me DSS, I wanted to see the both of them. Lady Ashe was the true main character of the story. Vaan was the narrator. And let's not forget who mortally wounded Vayne: Vaan. I would have loved to have seen Ashe in Duodecim. In addition, I thought Vaan was confirmed to be in DDFF? I just checked the user page and he's not mentioned. Was my previous assumption correct that a single Tweet is not enough of a reliable source?  TheBlueDragoon Dissicon ff10 Yun101:39, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

A lot of people hate both Tidus and Vaan, but Tidus was actually relevant in his own game, while Vaan was literally thrown in there because the bigwigs were afraid Basch wouldn't sell (they were dead wrong in my case - I might have liked a Basch game). I think we all knew Vaan would be in for that reason. He was shoehorned into XII and he was going to get shoehorned into Dissidia sooner or later because if they keep throwing him at us, he's bound to stick eventually, even if it's because he's been reduced to a fine paste. I didn't like Vaan as a character (I don't mind Tidus for reference), I didn't care for his backstory or his role in the plot (minus that I would have preferred Reks), and giving him good stats did nothing to assuage that (just made the game less of a hassle to suffer through when nobody else was around). The saddest part is that I didn't even need someone to help anchor me to the story and I know this because Vaan quite frankly didn't. I in no way associated with him and would have much rather not wasted my time ploughing through his focus to get to the good bits. Bluestarultor 01:44, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

I don't think they will include Ashe because she would be too similar to Lightning, with personality, outfit (same colours, same miniskirt), tone of voice. Both would be close-range fighters with a sword(yeah yeah Lightning's is also a gun), but Lightning is much more acrobatic; for the fighting style in Dissidia which is of flying around and performing crazy stunts, basically, agile characters like Lightning and Tifa fit, and Terra is in the other, graceful magic user category, with Kuja and Ultimecia. To combat the agile acrobatic characters we have characters like Garland that are huge and slow but hit hard. Ashe would have to be different from Lightning in fighting style, but she doesn't fit as a magic user, as she is depicted as a knight-type in Final Fantasy XII. I guess she could be similar to Warrior of Light, and be slower and more defensive than Lightning, but as she is rather slight in build, making her like a defensive tank doesn't really look right. Vaan is similar in style with Zidane, but has a different look and maybe more freedom for alternate costumes as he has appeared in Revenant Wings with a new look. His Quickenings have more character with the Tornado theme or Fire theme which could be incorporated to his battle style, Ashe's are just random colours bursting here and there. I guess Vaan's problem is that he could be too similar to Tidus in fighting style, but Vaan could use more "technicks and magicks". Will be interesting to see him anyway. Vayne opposing him fits just fine with me, as Vaan hates Vayne, whereas Vayne doesn't have to have a massive grudge against his opposing hero for it to work.Keltainentoukokuu 04:22, September 19, 2010 (UTC)Keltainentoukokuu

In that vein, wouldn't Fran be a great Dissidia character gameplay wise? Her character design doesn't resemble anyone else's, her Ex Mode could be "Mist Frenzy" and the viera are said to be experts at using all sorts of weapons. She could use a bow in normal mode and kicks and punches in Mist Frenzy. Alternate outfit is a tricky, but she could have another viera outfit similar to what other viera use in FFXII as an alt costume. Alas, Fran is the least relevant character in the story so they're not gonna use her. Could have been interesting though!Keltainentoukokuu 04:58, September 19, 2010 (UTC)Keltainentoukokuu

Also, since no one here has provided proof for Vaan's confirmation, I had to go digging for an unnoficial source. And find one I did. A tweet coming from the twitter page of Vaan's voice actor Bobby Edner, dated May 30th, 2010, reads as follows:

Oh yeah, I play Vaan In Final Fantasy!! This is my 2nd game voicing him :)

Another tweet from earlier the same day reads as follows:

Sorry I've been MIAeveryone!!! Been sick for like 2 wks...:( Also, this whole wk been recording the voice for another Final Fantasy game!!!

And since he wasn't voiced in RW or TA2, what are we left to assume, hm? - +DeadlySlashSword+ 06:33, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

Well, considering JD Cullum's statements, that's about the time that 012's voice acting was done. While I won't object to Vaan being in, I still wanted Balthier for the coolness value. Some Color Mage 08:17, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
He's probably in Dissidia 012 but it could also be Fortress. --BurstDragon 16:30, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
Fortress? Nooo.... - +DeadlySlashSword+ 20:13, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
It's completely impossible to be Fortress since even the JP VA is not ever mentioned. But to think about it: that Vaan in Dissidia. Coolest thing I've heard since the sequel :) Please, Vaan be in the sequel, PLEASE!! A.X.A 21:13, September 19, 2010 (UTC)
Fortrses isn't even close to have a functional game engine or finished script. There's no way they would complete the voiec acting for it in just ONE week three months ago. It's clearly even less advanced in development than Versus, and even Versus hasn't started voice acting. Big Wedge 10:41, September 20, 2010 (UTC)

~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~

with the entire thing about his voice actor confirming having done Vaan for an FF game recently, im 100% sure its for Dissidia 012.

in all honesty i was expecting Ashe and Vayne hero and villan, with Gabranth taking role of extra character.

but now that i think about it, Vaan probably is the best choice.

i mean hes so happy go lucky, hes nice, kind, little stupid but hey; stupidity makes things funny.

and it will defenetly be interesting seeing him interacting with the other heroes in the game. i can see him tagging along with the 5,8, 9 group due to him wanting to be a Sky Pirate, and trying to learn from Zidane to be the perfect thief!

i can also see him looking over Terra and Onion knight, like how he watched over Penelo and Kytes in FF12.

which, actually, would be kind of cute to see!

i will admit at first i was upset Vaan might be getting in, but the more i think about it the more excited i get about his inclusion.

these are the costumes im predicting he will be getting, as well as his EX Mode

what do you guys think, how do you think Vaan will interact with the characters of Dissidia?

that is, if the rumors of him getting in are trueIxbran 04:46, September 20, 2010 (UTC)

New Second Costume for Tidus[]

[[File:Tidus Alternate Form.jpg|160px|left]] Dissidia - Tidus New Second Alt

if you look closely, his shorts are no longer torn, they have a normal hem-line. also the jacket is 'neater' and you can see the lower hem of the jacket coming out, instead of being tucked in under the overalls. also his skin tone becomes the Deep-Tan color it was in the original. only thing that hasten changed is the hoodie, apparently. possibly so they wouldn't have to make a new photo for his life bar. Ixbran 08:51, September 19, 2010 (UTC)

I liked his second alt in Dissidia cause it was reminisent of the original, but it wasn't close enough. This looks worthy of actually being that alt now. I might switch back and forth between the two now happily :) I hope Cloud's default alt is still his Soldier one though. --RedCloud 01:07, September 20, 2010 (UTC)

I doubt that's his second alt, but rather instead a new version of his old alt - they're way too similar. Also, at some point in the trailer Tidus is fighting Jecht in an FMV and appears to have no shirt on - I'd say that's his second alt, either that or a Shuyin outfit. --Adonzo 10:34, September 20, 2010 (UTC)
They said that each character will have 3 alts instead of 2 (like in Dissidia) and it was also stated that some characters will have their 2nd outfits tweaked a little bit. So this would be Tidus' 2nd outfit. --RedCloud 03:08, September 21, 2010 (UTC)

Quiestion: do you have this in WAV or AVI file format? i do not have anything that opens flash files. Ixbran 21:10, September 22, 2010 (UTC)

It's in flash, I intended to upload it on YouTube so didn't bother converting it, you can play it in Media Player Classic.--BurstDragon 21:22, September 22, 2010 (UTC)

oh, well thing was i was hoping to put this video on my PS3, can PS3's play FLV files?Ixbran 21:26, September 22, 2010 (UTC)

No--BurstDragon 21:29, September 22, 2010 (UTC)

OH, well that's unsettling. do you think you could consider ripping the file from the site again, this time as an AVI or WMV? you dont have too, just asking.Ixbran 21:32, September 22, 2010 (UTC)

Ok I'll do it, but right now I'll convert it.--BurstDragon 21:35, September 22, 2010 (UTC)

Oops sorry forgot about that.--BurstDragon 05:33, September 23, 2010 (UTC)

After seeing the trailer in better quality, it makes be think that they've reduced the texture details on this game. The close up of Lightning was a horrible, garbled, blurred mess from what I could see. Comparing it to other close up shots from Dissidia, it seems like they've reduced texture details, maybe to allow for more data on the UMD? Does anybody else see this? --RedCloud 06:41, September 23, 2010 (UTC)

Move List[]

Can anyone translate the 3 large headings in the move list pic in the gallery? --ZexionFan321 14:03, September 25, 2010 (UTC)

Upper one- Move list, <single-player> Intro-mode, middle one- same as above, Normal-mode, lower one- same again, Hard-mode. SquallisbetterthanCloud 16:44, September 25, 2010 (UTC)

New Interview[]

It's all in Japanese, however this is a Dengeki interview of Dissidia 012 http://www.ff-reunion.net/ddff/2010/09/25/ddff_dengeki_games_deveroper_interview

These are the main points the guys at the FF Net forums were able to figure out.

  • Yes, this is a prequel dealing with the 12th war of Dissidia.
  • There is more to this game than just new characters - the new elements help to make the game fresh.
  • To quell everyone's concerns, Nomura assures us that Kain is on Cosmos' side.
  • Characters weren't picked to necessarily balance the Cosmos and Chaos sides but rather who would be interesting to play as, who could have a compelling drama, and who is popular.
  • Characters can have up to 4 costumes including DLC.
  • They are still working on what to let you transfer from Dissidia.
  • More new characters will be announced and they won't keep us waiting too long. --58.169.107.233 00:38, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

" Characters can have up to 4 costumes including DLC i think this means each will have 3 costumes, but can get a 4th via DLC. that would make sence right?" Ixbran 00:59, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

So in the grand SE interview tradition, they tell us exactly squat. Oh well. One of these days they'll get that right. Doreiku Kuroofangu 01:07, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

I really don't see how translating this stuff is hard. I just used Babel Fish, made some guesses as to when it tripped up over Nomura's surprisingly liberal use of English, and got the same info. That said, I didn't get much more out of it than was already posted. Well, some stuff, but mostly just development comments like needing to add bones to Cloud's KH cape and why they decided to do KH and 3rd Birthday outfits. Bluestarultor 01:27, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

"More new characters will be announced and they won't keep us waiting too long." Here's to hoping we see Celes and Yuna. The fact that Kain is playable is enough for me to buy this, but you add Tifa, and I'm sold. Yuna would be perfect. Switching Dresspheres or between Summoner and Gunner, EX Mode is Floral Fallel, EX Burst is Grand Summon... Damn, a guy can dream.  TheBlueDragoon Dissicon ff10 Yun106:10, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

Well, Tifa was in the closed theatre trailer, in a scene talking to Sephiroth. She's in her original outift. -58.169.107.233 10:18, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
I'd personally go more for full-on X-2 treatment. It's much more flexible and offers a much more unique style of play. Summoner Yuna's Aeons would need to be reduced to spells, and there's a summoning system in place anyway. Bluestarultor 06:22, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
If I remember correctly, Yuna was considered for the first Dissidia. And yes, I agree. I personally would love to see Gunner, Samurai, Dark Knight and maybe a few others would work very well. Although we may very well see Seymour as well, and that would be awesome as well, because he's my favorite villain in the series.  TheBlueDragoon Dissicon ff10 Yun106:39, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
Just one word, Vivi! Werehog 12:00 AM 9/26/2010

I think Vincent would of been a better choice for a third VII character. He has his own game and is all set up with his transformations. Zack would of been good too if they could make his moveset different from Clouds using the DMW Oni Dark Link 10:51, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

New Art Work for Main Page[]

"Hey Everyone, Ix Here. Just wanted to show Ya'll this picture I made.

Dissidia Duodecim Cast

I made this to match the Picture Like it that is on the main page for the original Dissidia.

Dissidia6

Thing is though i noticed it was taken down. Now I understand there are certain rules and criteria that need to be upheld while working on a Wiki. so I am not upset that it was taken down, but i would like to know as to Why it was taken down. I mean, when the first Dissidia was announced, and characters were being announced, we had the same thing. It always being Updated when ever new characters were to be announced, which I was going to do when new art work was online with the one I Made.

But again, my main question is Why was it taken Down?" Ixbran 07:44, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

I'll say here what I said in the edit summary - that image is ugly as hell. Doreiku Kuroofangu 07:51, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

Harsh much? and why do you think its ugly? what about is it about it you dont like? i could easily remedy itIxbran 07:55, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

You call it harsh, I call it truth. The characters are awkwardly cropped, there's random squares of color, Kain is in the bottom of the image alone...it's an ugly image. Doreiku Kuroofangu 07:59, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
Aside from that, we have no idea how many characters they're adding. Your open slots could easily end up being not enough or too much. I think it's just better to wait. Bluestarultor Best-of Stellar Arena sigicon BSA 08:02, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

"@Drake: Just because you dont like it dosn't mean you can be a F'ing Jerk about it. the 'random squares of color' represent pictures of characters yet to be added.

White=spots to stay blank. with Ff13 being the last FF with a hero and main villan representative, i had no choice but to leave it by its self.

Black=Spots soon to be filled by the necessary character. 12's Hero, and 11 and 13's Villains. and the rest of the Extras.

Kain is down there by him self to represent the fact hes an extra character, the spot ware i was planning to put all the extras, placing them in Numerical order when an extra was announced.

Again, Drake, if you dont like it, you can express your disdain for it, just dont be a G*d D**m Prick about it!

@Blue: about not having enough space. i was planning on expanding the picture if it was necessary, thank you for your concern but it isn't necessary, i have the entire thing planed out already. Again, thank you."Ixbran 08:08, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

That still doesn't address the issue of too much. What if it doesn't come out even? For all we know, they could be adding 17-22/7 characters to the mix. Aside from that, it's forcing your logic on everyone else when things aren't as clear-cut as they were before. Yeah, Drake was being blunt about it, but to be honest, there's more than one reason it just shouldn't go up. Bluestarultor Best-of Stellar Arena sigicon BSA 08:16, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
While I do understand your Point Ixbran, I still have to agree with everyone about it being taken down. Yes, giving "It is ugly" as a reason is not a good one, and also not very polite. On this, I agree with you. But on the other hand, your picture truly has a lot of flaws. First of all, it is as already stated: We have so far no way of knowing, how many characters are going to be included. For all we know, it could even happen that no character from XIII besides Lightning gets added, of that we get characters outta Tactics and Crystal Chronicles. Also, it has been stated that there probably won't always be a balance between the number of Chaos' and Cosmos' warriors. Furthermore, Jecht is - as far as we know - part of Cosmos' side this time, while on your picture he's indicated to be a warrior of Chaos. We could go on longer with this, but I think that is enough, and you get the gist of it. So, while I consider it a good idea, it was just a little to early. Just wait until we've got more information, k? =) MirrorshardSceada 08:28, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
"I'll be honest, i dont mind if its taken down or not. i understand why it needs to be, and respect that. What's got me so irked is how rude Drake was being about the entire thing. It took me 3 hours to make that thing, and he thinks he has the right to go and call it "Ugly". that's whats got me upset, not that it has to be taken down, but how he acted and what he said. I understand it needs to be down, for now. I appreciate both of you, Blue and Mirrior, being as kind and curtious as you are. good day/night to the both of you."Ixbran 08:35, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

To voice my opinion, that image is both an horrid idea and abhorrent. Dissidia 012 article doesn't have to be a carbon copy of the original Dissidia's. Neither it needs to be a full article because it was only announced around two weeks ago.

If you're so interested in editing go add shit to stubs, not unreleased material. - Henryacores^ 11:17, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

What's with this complaint? The first Dissidia's article was created in May 2007, that's one year and seven months ahead of that game's release in Japan! There's no problem creating the article if you have info to share, and so far most people did their best to give legit info. BLUER一番 12:28, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
What happened to the userbase here? Don't remember you guys being such jerks.

Terra?[]

On her Dissidia page it says that she was once on the side of Chaos because she was forced to. Does that mean she is on Chaos's side in this game? --ZexionFan321 12:56, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

It is possible, although nothing official was stated. We have to wait until SE will say anything about it, which most likely will take a lot of time. SquallisbetterthanCloud 13:00, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

Ok then. --ZexionFan321 13:01, September 26, 2010 (UTC)

Terra's story starts after the Onion Knights story in Dissidia. In the Onion Knights story, Kefka controls Terra to attack the Onion Knight. In Terra's story, he's trying to get her back under his control again. That is why he says "Serving Chaos suited you so much better, don't you think?" or something like that Also, remember that Shinryu wipes the memories of the current war from ALL the warriors clean when he cleanses the world. If Terra was under Chaos' control during the last war, I doubt Kefka would have remembered.Lt.Haven 20:11, September 26, 2010 (UTC)
