Talk:Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII-

From Final Fantasy Wiki

Uh oh... I just realized... The game's name is Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII. This page's name is Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII... Should I just cut all this info and paste it there or should the other page be deleted and this page moved there?--Cloud Strife 00:53, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII is already taken by... I guess... background information or something so the article can't be moved there... I did a search on GameFAQs and it returned this. --Frusion1021 01:16, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup

This article needs to be cleaned up. There are spelling and grammatical errors throughout.

I'm making the story first, then when I'm done I was gonna go spellcheck and reword and stuff.--Cloud Strife 00:10, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
Hurry up, though. I want to put it on the Front Page eventually. Crazyswordsman 01:33, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
Good stuff takes time ;) lol. I want to make it look nice.--Cloud Strife 21:36, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

I thought it was pointless. The plot was ok, to say the least, but instead of wasting resources on a sub-par game, they should have just done what they did with Last Order and made a one off film.

I'm gonna be totally honest here, but despite that FF7 logo this game was a truly rancid piece of garbage. First, the camera. Jesus-pancake-flipping-Christ, how long does it take Vincent to turn around!? I'm stuck bumbling around trying to get the camera away from the floor when a Deep Ground Grunt has already taken out half my HP. Second, I just hate shooters in general, personally I prefer a sword in my video games. And finally the entire game was periodically interrupted my long rambleling cutsceens of little of no importance. I don't care about the damn 10-year-old or her one-armed sister. Omega, Chaos, Deep Ground who gives a shit? Just let me shoot something already! And where was Sephiroth? There is no FF7 without Sephiroth, a little flashback does not cut it- he needs to be in the game or its just not FF7. A 2 out of 5 and that's being a little too kind. I liked this game. It's got one of my favorite characters in it.Oh what was his name......?AzulTheCerulean!I didn't get to finish FFVII

(people who have read my user page know why). This is kinda a Devil May Cry setup but with a FF spin on it.I would give this game a 4 out of 5.

This would be a topic more fitting our forum; however, since its here, and people are ripping Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus to peices, I will weigh in. Its ok. There are ton of games better. There are a ton of games worse and it is, by no means, the worst game with a Final Fantasy name on it. It is not a game made by a company with a great history of anything but RPGs. It is clunky, and has a lot of invisible walls. If you can get past that, it can be pretty fun to play. I like the customization. It functionally helps bridge the gap between FPS and RPG, though only in a very superficial way. What bothered me most about the game was character design. I felt like I was playing Kingdom Hearts or something. People were not proportional. They had glowey things... I wasn't really digging it, especially next to how down-to-earth people looked in Advent Children. Consistancy...

...that said, this helped me learn an appreciation for Vincent and Cait Sith.

I loved this game Because Vincent is my favorite Charecter and also it was pretty fun, good story, good boss battles, and it was just really fun

[edit] Multiplayer Mode

I notice that we have articles for characters who only appear in the Multiplayer Mode, but yet this article makes no mention of it, or myabe just a slim one that I missed. Shouldn't there be a whole section devoted to this? And shouldn't the multiplayer mode storyline (which appears to be independent of the real game) have coverage?

Oh, and the entire storyline section needs work. I'd do it myself, but I'm never playing Dirge of Cerberus again, so... yeah.

Has anyone even played multiplayer mode? From what I've read, it looks like a MMORPG of some sort.

From what I ascertained from the article, Multiplayer mode was taken out of overseas releases. It is possible however that the content from there might of worked its way into some of the "extra content" of Extra Hard mode. I wouldn't know because I've only played on the regular difficulty setting. It was hard enough finishing the game on Normal.

I can tell you the storyline of Multiplayer Mode (vaguely) but not the gameplay. Actually, from what I've seen, it seems almost single player.

Which begs the question of the misnomer. It looks like I'm going to start Extra Hard mode then. I'll update this myself once I get the info, because I highly doubt anyone else would or did waste their time on it.

Extra Hard mode doesn't have any extra content. I would know, I've beaten it 3 times.

Then how do you unlock all the galleries, then?

Those are in the challenges. Various colored capsules will be present in them, and different colors need to be broken in differant ways. I forget which ones unlock what but in the challenges: orange are broken with anything, red get meleed, green break with magic, yellows you shoot, and white are always close to barrels. I got a new game so that I could find the capsules again for my walkthrough and I've forgotten some of them.
