DMW MalfunctionEdit

At the end of the game, where you have to fight the entire ShinRa army, the DMW begins to malfunction and break, and while it does so many of Zack's memories flash by. I believe this may have a considerable effect, if not how and why, Cloud absorbs Zack's identity and memories. Thoughts? Senjek bohmet 13:02, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Cloud absorbed Zacks memories due to the stories he told him while they were heading for Midgar and he was in Catatonic state. Zack died and the Jenova cells inside Cloud's body took over his mind and made him think that he was Zack. Basically, the DMW stopped because Zack was dieing and his memories and emotions started fading.

Why everybody seems to talk about and see the scenes with the DMW and i don't know how the fuck get them, for example the one with Sephiroth killing a lot of monsters with one blow in front of Zack. Does anybody knows how to make them visible then please tell me.

It's completely random. The chances of receiving these scenes increase when the DMW is at a high level (Heavenly or Sky High), but you don't have much control over that either. Just hope you match Cissnei to crank up the DMW level and then hope you get a scene.

Do those scenes have any effect on the DMW? Or the images that flash up? I've tried following a few theories, but nothing has shown itself yet.

More informationEdit

I just thought, this article should list all the DMW scenes for the different characters, and what point in the game they can first be seen. And how much % they're worth for that character too. I may add this if I find the time, but I'm supposed to be busy. 88.108.105.224 12:22, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

There's a lot more the article could go into on, like the exact odds of getting certain attacks depending on the modifiers. I thought though it may be excessive and perhaps a bit confusing, hence the in-depth link at the bottom of the page. Doreiku Kuroofangu 16:40, September 1, 2010 (UTC)

Could the D. M. W.'s Chocobo Mode be a form of Blue Magic? Edit

I know this might sound like a weird thing to ask, but could the Chocobo Mode of Zack's DMW system be considered a form of Blue Magic? Through the CM Zack uses a number of attacks and abilities that comes from enemies (cactuar, tonberry, and magic pot) and friendly creatures (chocobo, cait sit, and moogle). Like Quistis Trepe from FFVIII, he can add these abilities to his DMW by finding specific items during the missions provided in CC:FFVII. Now for the record, I'm not claiming that the Chocobo Mode of Zack's DMW is Blue Magic or that this website's articles on Blue Magic and the DMV should be changed to include that possibility. I'm simply wondering if the Chocobo Mode could be considered a type of Blue Magic because of what it does and how Zack learns its attacks and abilities. Thank you to anyone who sets me straight. He just performs an attack with them a bit similar to summons.--BurstDragon 06:33, October 11, 2010 (UTC)

I realize I'm late to the party, but the answer is "yes & no." It has been stated that Zack's Limit is essentially the ability to copy the Limit Breaks of others & incorporate them into his own arsenal. This makes Zack's Limit Breaks arguably "a form" of Blue Magic, but it is distinct from Enemy Skill, which is FFVII's canonical form of "Blue Magic." Additionally, this does not mean that Chocobo Mode exclusively fits this description, & in fact, it might even be an exception, because Zack isn't actually performing the skills. So, the TL;DR summary here is: It's a matter of perception.
