Gilgamesh: Enough expository banter!

Just Curious[]

Does anyone actually know the reasoning behind the inclusion of battles with Dark Aeons, or are they (and Penance too!) just there for bragging-right-kills? Melaisis 04:27, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

FFX-2[]

Aeons from FFX-2 are not Dark Aeons. They are normal Aeons controlled by Shuyin (like Aeons controlled by Yu Yevon in FFX).--Sinh 04:23, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

What this guy said. Even if they look like Dark Aeons, they are "Aeons which once fought alongside Yuna" and not actually Dark Aeons. However I don't want to just remove the information because it could be put to use elsewhere.  I Lion Heart I 16:17, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
And no answer will be complete removal. A user who cares, do something with the information; if you don't, then I don't know where I'm going to integrate or dump it so I'll just remove it because it's wrong.  ILHI 20:41, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

FFX-2 II[]

While the navigational templates of Final Fantasy X-2 points to this article, there's almost nothing mentioned of their X-2 counterparts. Must we remove the link in the navigational templates, or should we create an article or is an article already existing somewhere in the wiki stacks that is 10,000 and counting >;? AJDurai 15:29, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

The article used to have X-2 information, which was wrong. The aeons in X-2 look like Dark Aeons but are normal Aeons. "An aeon that once fought alongside Yuna."  ILHI 15:34, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
My theory is that when aeons become possessed by an evil force, they become "dark". In the final battles of FFX when Yuna summoned her aeons, they were possessed by Yu Yevon and became "dark". The same happened when they were possessed by Shuyin's despair in FFX-2. Then there are the superbosses in FFX that are actually called Dark Aeons". They were possessed to fight for Yevon. Notice the pattern? Jeppo (Talk) 16:07, 23 July 2009 (UTC)
Yuh-huh, I thought the same, but it's a theory, not confirmed by SE. I think "Dark Aeon" might be a fan-term in itself, just to encompass all the Aeons with "Dark" in front of their name. Becuz it obviously makes sense. I don't know if it's used in-game or any other official source.  ILHI 16:27, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Narration[]

The narration is kinda unprofessional, it is okay if I fix that?

Top 5[]

At the end it says that Penance is considered in the Top 5 hardest bosses in Final Fantasy. Is there actually a list or is this just BS?--GrammarMan 15:00, November 19, 2009 (UTC)

Request for Clarification: Dark Aeons[]

"Dark Yojimbo, Dark Anima, Dark Ixion, and Dark Shiva can be found before the player fights Yunalesca. "

Can, or can -not- be found? The paragraph following this statement about once you have an airship you can return to old locations to find/fight them seems to be redundant if they can be found before the airship.

Could someone who has actually found the dark aeons please clarify and update the main article if needed?

Thank you.70.70.40.121 05:31, December 25, 2011 (UTC)

I really don't think you can fight them before fighting Yunalesca. Maybe if you get to the end of Zanarkand and then turn around and go back they have been triggered or something...but in that case it really should be phrased like that then.Keltainentoukokuu 16:57, December 25, 2011 (UTC)
I understand this is a year old or so, but posting here to avoid confusion...you can fight Dark Yojimbo right after acquiring him on your first time in the Calm Lands, IIRC. Fleeing Bevelle is what triggers the Dark Aeons. Yojimbo is the only one you can fight before Yunalesca as you don't need the airship to get to him then. You do for the rest. I believe it's possible to backtrack to previous locations as well (at least Besaid and Macalania) after directly escaping from Bevelle.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 22:12, December 3, 2012 (UTC)
... If you can get back to Besaid you can probably get back to everywhere. I'm fairly sure they don't let you travel everywhere. I would have tried. And something in my memory says that it wasn't possible. IIRC, the Monster Arena stuff... you can only do the Calm Lands monsters at first.. and I think I tried to back but couldn't. Heretic Aeons[]

The International Ultimania calls them "Dark Aeons" (ダーク召喚獣) in spite of each of the enemy's having the "ヘレティック" prefix. Where does "ヘレティック召喚獣" come from or was it made up because of the Japanese boss names? JBed (talk) 19:29, September 9, 2016 (UTC)

It's probably made up. I don't think they are collectively called anything in the game itself.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 19:48, September 9, 2016 (UTC)
