Is a reason why we don't have pictures for each of the Cids?

There are pictures of each Cid on their individual articles, the majority of them anyway.

We've got the early five Cid's on the top of the article.

I quote:

"Cid is a character that has appeared, or at least mentioned, in all Final Fantasy-related media; the main series, spinoffs, film and anime."

I don't see a mention of the Crystal Chronicles series. Is he in that game at all, or was he just forgotten?

The Airship page makes mention of a Mogcid in one of the CCs. I know nothing about that game so I won't add any details here, but that's the best answer you've got so far :P

Isn't it true that the Cid of FFVI is also the other Cid that doesn't have anything to do with airships? Because in gametrailer's FF retrospective, they say that Cid of FFVI is the first Cid that doesn't have anything to do with airship

Cid shows the airship, that HE built, to Celes when she saves him. The only Cid that has nothing to do with Airships is Cid Kramer, because pointing out something is an "airship" is not the same as building one.

Hmmm? When did Cid build an Airship? The only two Airships in the game are built by Setzer and his girlfriend.

Sorry, it was a raft. Just goes to show that you should double-check before you put something. On, his page, however, it says he is the chief genetic ENGINEER in the game. Okay, not having to do with Airships is still true, but don't call him a fake Cid.

FF1 Cid Edit

Dissidia largely ignores remakes so far, so I was surprised to see that Cid was featured and labeled as he was in the FF1 remakes. Which got me thinking: the FF1 translation was originally heavily truncated and butchered. Perhaps Cid was always a background character, and just didn't make the cut to English?

I'm 99% sure Cid was retconned into FFI in both Japan and America. FFII's Cid is definatly the first, since he's the quintisential Cid.

(82.154.183.189 19:45, 19 December 2008 (UTC) - FFII's Cid is definitely the first one to apear, FFI's one it's more for the sake of the "tradition". But it's actually nice to hear more of him as the narrator of Dissidia, it's better than having an hallow Cid)

Dissidia don't completely ignore remakes and spin-offs: AC Cloud, Luneth-Onion Knight, etc. --Sinh 08:20, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

Dissidia don't ignore remakes and spin-offs at all. I don't know where that assumption comes from. Some original stuff take precedence (like Onion Knight being the main costume), but Dissidia never ignored remakes and spin-offs. Bluetash 10:16, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

Cid in Dissidia Edit

"He is also revealed to be Garland's adoptive father." ...Wait, what?? Lulu's 12:31, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

I too will join in on this double-take. History says Dazuro added this little bit of trivia, so maybe he can answer it. Diablocon 12:47, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Should this dude get his own page? After we've done finding out about the hidden plot of FFI, we'll have enough info, right? :D  ILHI 12:57, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Too bad FFI's expansive and complicated plot couldn't make it into the game itself... --BlueHighwind 13:14, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
Still waitin' on that elaboration? Basically, the Cosmos Reports are introduced as "my husband invented airships and flying rocks," so clearly it's narrated by Cid's wife. The reports go on to tell the tale of how her adopted son became a knight destined to fight forever in a cycle due to being linked with Chaos's Fiends. It's easy enough to extrapolate from there that Cid is Garland's "dad". Dazuro 01:34, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
That's awesome. It's sad that Dissidia contains more of FFI's plot than FFI itself. -_- Diablocon 01:38, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Well, considering FFI is old as can be, why are you so surprised? - AndresTiger
I wish they hadn't remade FF1 so recently. I'd like to see a proper remake that adds in plot elements and stuff, maybe using the proper Warrior design, maybe even 3D graphics... Dazuro 01:45, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Cosmos is clearly Cid's wife.  ILHI 17:31, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

EDIT CONFLICT: I know they're retcons, but I'd rather we get a complete rework of FFI with an actual plot than just having these ports and little bits added 20 years later, ya know? (Dazuro basically said it too) Diablocon 01:46, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

I think the reason they don't touch the original is due to Hironobu Sakaguchi no longer being around. For the remake of FFIII and FFIV they had the original co-directors and the original writers of each story. For FFI they only have one of the co-writers and he's a producer now.- AndresTiger

So where is Cid during the events of Dissidia? He's just...narrating. Shouldn't he be doing something about his son wrecking havoc all around the universe? or is he narrating from the netherworld or something? Lulu's 12:56, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Well he sounds like an old man so I doubt he could do much in the face of the insanely powerful Garland. Also, his voice has a slight echo effect added onto it, which gave me the impression that he's dead, or at least watching these events from far away. Diablocon 12:59, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
Wait a sec, I though FFI's Cid had died some hundreds or thousands of years before the start of the game. That's why the Lufenians have lost all their entire civilization and the Airship is hidden in a desert somewhere. How could Garland be his son? --BlueHighwind 13:08, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
On Garland's page it says he was experimented on as a youth, meaning he may be a bit older than he appears or lets on.--Otherarrow 13:14, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Lulu: It's implied he became the first Chaos (I say 'first' because FF1 made it clear that Garland was Chaos that time). Blue: In addition to what Otherarrow said, there's also the matter of Garland being a confirmed time-traveler. Dazuro 15:10, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

@Lulu Chaos' reports says that he exchanged his body to put his mind into the discord, so basically he's a "voice" without body. CookiePinguy 08:35, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Sorry for the new edit, just to say also that i think is also mentioned, but i not so sure about this one i have to read them again, that "Garland" is immortal and reborns every time he "dies" (well thats actually not new) and is fated to fight he remebers everthing of his past lives, exept one time that doesn't happen (i supose it's on FF, that he doesn't remeber the motive to his hate and the hate itself, so prob he becomes the "good guy" thats a cornelian Knight). So he can be more old that he apears. But im not so sure about this parts of the reports (it's from chaos), i really don't recall the reports now, if's something wrong feel free to correct me ;D CookiePinguy 08:48, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Mythic Quest Edit

Although it says Cid is in all Final Fantasy related stuff, there is no entry for Mythic Quest, and I don't recall him being in there. 72.230.221.198 03:55, January 15, 2010 (UTC)

Formatting Edit

Hello Everyone I am pretty new to editing wiki's so bear with me. I was looking at the page for Cid and saw the traits listing in one long paragraph, So I felt that would be much better served as a list. I'm surprised the toolbar for this wiki doesn't have that feature. The question I'm asking now is should each trait for each Cid be listed in a box or bulleted format?
