It might be. For one thing, the colours are slightly different, with the logo's having brighter colours. Secondly, there are some subtle differences between them, with the eyes looking a little different between them as an example.
Either that or Ly used an older official art for the logo.
I only wish I could draw. No, I got the the one I used on the logo from a scan of a magazine article I found through google. I had just been trying to find a nice big pic of a chocobo when I found that one. Frankly, I think the one used in the article seems to have better color quality. In fact, I can replace the logo one if you like.
