I'm currently going through a playthrough of the HD remaster. The page claims that the Sun Crest can only be obtained after beating Dark Bahamut and can't be collected just after beating Yunalesca. This is wrong. I've just done it in the HD version. Anyone know where that piece of information came from?

13 balloons and 1 bird hit?[]

Is it possible? with 13 balloons you'll get -39 seconds and one bird hit gives you +3 seconds so you have to finish the race in 36 seconds (likely impossible if you got hit by a bird which slow you down for 2 more seconds). 13-0, 14-1, 15-2... will be more believable.

Don't feel like doing it myself right now, so here's the pointers for someone else to fix:

  • Didn't actually spot this one but it's a common mistake so I'll mention it just in case: To get Break Damage Limit for an aeon, you must obtain the relevant weapon and power it up with the crest, but you do NOT need to also power it up with the sigil. Just the crest is enough.
  • At least Tidus's and Wakka's mentions that it "ignores defence when fully powered". Actually, Celestial weapons ALWAYS ignore the enemy's defence (when using physical attacks - so it doesn't apply to overdrives), regardless of how far powered up they are. HOWEVER - Celestial weapons do NOT have Piercing effect.
  • Another just in case one - the same is also true of the HP/MP modifiers; they apply no matter how powered up the weapon is or isn't.
  • This is more an "extra info you can add" than a "needs to be corrected", but it might be worth mentioning that, aside from the impact of ignoring defence (which IS very significant, mind you), celestial weapons will never be more powerful than a normal weapon. At full HP/MP, they do the same damage as a normal weapon would if the enemy had 0 defence, and it only drops from there. HOWEVER - Auron is an exception to this. It does 100% damage at about 70% of his max HP, as he drops further than this, the weapon exceeds 100% damage, up to a maximum of 250%ISH (that is NOT an exact value, just approximate).

I managed to dig up the formulas:

  • Auron: (130 - [100 * Auron's current HP ÷ Auron's Max HP]) ÷ 60
  • Others: (10 + [100 * User's current HP ÷ User's Max HP]) ÷ 110

For Yuna/Lulu, use MP instead of HP, but the formula is the same.

For Auron, this means:

  • Full HP: 50% damage
  • Full damage: At 70% of max HP
  • Double damage: At 10% of max HP
  • At 1 HP: 215% damage (give or take 0.1%)

For anyone else, full HP is 100% damage, 1 HP is about 9.1% damage.

Under 'Mechanics' after Masamune Damage is explained, the last sentence says "For anyone else, full HP is 100% damage, 1 HP is about 9.1% damage." With Yuna and Lulu it's MP instead of HP, as correctly stated further down, right? If I'm right, someone should probably edit it. Just trying to help!
