		maybe Square really expected that people think the Dark Knight is cooler then the Paladin, that's why Cecil's Paladin from has those uber-stats, so people would like the Paladin more then the Dark Knight, it could be!?

		The voice acting is only in the official trailer so far, I doubt it will be in the actual game. So far, only Cecil and Rosa have said anything. The same happened in Revenant Wings. The intro of the trailer is Lluyd narrating what is happening, but in the actual game, there is no voice acting.

Cecil's Mother

I was thinking do think is possiable Cecils mother is somehow related to the king of Baron? I know its just speculation and doesn't go on wiki but it makes sense since its very uncommon for someone to just take in a child unless there related to them. --Ansantran 23:17, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

		There was a special edition of FFXII released at the same time as the American release that came with a bonus DVD. I don't have it, but I believe it has a history of FF on it.

Some sort of inspiration/semblance?

While readin' through the Cecil article, I noticed that he and the Kingdom Hearts character Riku share similarities. Aside from the silver hair, both are associated with light and darkness, both are right-handed. In addition, both have had a shaky relationship with their 'brotherly' figures, and both have had to a fight a doppelganger who represented what they would have been, had they embraced the darkness fully and have done things in their lives they're not proud of either.

Well it's a pretty common story. A man making up for the sins of his past by finding the light isn't exactly an original story. Not that huge of a connection honestly. Also wasn't Riku doing these bad things out of jealously, while Cecil just didn't know any better? EDIT: In fact wouldn't that make him more like Kain? Sprites

Height Error

The Final Fantasy Character Ultimania lists Cecil's height as 178cm/5'10", not what this page has listed. I can't find the edit option for that information, so I'm leaving it here so someone that can edit it will fix it.

Introduction

In the English localization of the Nintendo DS version, as well as in Dissidia Final Fantasy, Cecil is pronounced[ˈsɛ.sɨ̞ɫ] (seh-sil), as opposed to the proper [ˈsiː.sɨ̞ɫ] (see-sil) pronunciation found in English. The Japanese form セシル (Seshiru) seems to back this up. Oddly, the bonus disc included with Final Fantasy XII pronounces it the other way.

		While I personally pronounced it "see-sil" prior to the release of Final Fantasy IV for the DS, I find this statement to be incredibly unfounded. "Seh-sil" is a rather common pronunciation of the name--especially in UK and other Commonwealth countries. I hate to quote dictionaries as a source, but even Merriam-Webster lists "seh-sil" as the primary pronunciation. I'm removing or otherwise altering this statement now. Any objections, and you can post them here or on my Talk Page.

Kain and Rosa?

Sorry if this has already been addressed, but I skimmed the page and wasn't entirely sure where to even look for an answer. Does Cecil know Kain is in love with Rosa, or is he blissfully ignorant of the jealousy and thinks Kain's just mind-controlled? I was wondering, instead of using an image that's just the paladin, why not use an art work that has both his paladin and dark knight form in it, like this picture here. I think it would be nice having both of his forms being equally represented in his info box, rather than having to chose between one or the other.

Spoilers in the wrong place?

"Towards his friends, Cecil is loyal and exceptionally forgiving. This is most notable with his best friend Kain, who betrays him and attacks him several times while being controlled by Golbez, and Golbez himself, after finding out that he was his brother, Theodor, and his only living family. " This is in the Appearance and Personality section, so I wonder whether it's worth moving to the Story section or outright removing, since I think most people would regard the revelation of Cecil's brother as a spoiler. Not that I'm fussed myself, I like to know things before I play them, but to other people, maybe not so. What do you think, peeps? Tia-Lewise 09:37, September 30, 2011 (UTC)

Spoilers should be avoided outside of Spoilers zones. Too bad we have a problem with having to name our articles Edea Kramer and Raine Loire which totally don't spoil anything.

People come here for information about the game. Mainly for gameplay reasons, but sometimes to clarify parts of the plot maybe they didn't understand. We have {{Spoiler}} for a reason-- to avoid spoiling plot points for people who do not want it spoiled. Yes, spoilers are inevitable. And in some instances, it is difficult to work around spoilers (mainly games with sequels). I still don't understand your reasoning. Why try and hide it, when it's a defining aspect of the two characters? These ones aren't even "in plain sight" ffs, the content box is large enough to conceal the paragraph from the top of the page. Firebird 16:28, October 13, 2011 (UTC)

People will come to this wiki looking for particular information. They will not want to find out that the main villain throughout most of the game is the brother of the main character. And they are "in plain sight" because they don't have the spoiler templates around it. If I'm being cautious about spoilers in the game, and I see a spoiler tag, I will avoid the content inside of them. Then put the template above it, if you're so worried. Look, it was more or less untouched for several years, and nobody complained about it, I don't see why it should suddenly change now. If they don't want to run into unexpected spoilers, they shouldn't be reading the article - or even this encyclopedia - in the first place. If - or when - spoilers are a necessity to improve and clarify an article and/or its subject/s, they should be there as is, not awkwardly reworded in a clumsy attempt to hide it. I don't think the "big" spoilers are needed in the Appearance and Personality section. The fact that Cecil becomes a Paladin could be viewed as a spoiler, but it has to do with his appearance, which would go under this section. The circumstances of why and how he becomes one don't need to be said here though. That Kain is controlled by Golbez and that Golbez is Cecil's brother are not related to Cecil's personality so they don't need to be mentioned until the story section.Keltainentoukokuu 20:19, October 13, 2011 (UTC)

Appearance and Personality

There's a massive gap between the end of said section and the next because of the Dark Knight image. Unfortunately I don't know enough about images to be able to move it efficiently myself. I don't suppose something should be done? Tia-Lewise 13:47, December 25, 2011 (UTC)

Moved the image up one paragraph, should be better now. You can move images around with just copypasteing the code and seeing in preview what it looks like, although I guess this is better in the default skin.Keltainentoukokuu 16:47, December 25, 2011 (UTC)
