A New Character? And Incoming Demos[]

I haven't played the Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, but this information says there's a character called "Anies" in the game. Maybe we should start designing Wiki class codes for the game? But then again... the logo doesn't really has any colours. And on February 29th, 2012, there will be a demo available, part of a demo series actually.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 22:22, February 27, 2012 (UTC)

We can't make articles without information. - Henryacores^ 01:44, February 28, 2012 (UTC)

Agnes Oblige:

The picture of the woman and the fairy... well the woman's name is Agnes Oblige and shes the shrine maiden of the wind crystal according to this article: http://www.siliconera.com/2012/02/27/bravely-default-demo-introduces-agnes-guardian-of-the-wind-crystal/ (I dont have an account so i dont know if I can edit anything haha) 206.176.109.226 02:47, February 29, 2012 (UTC)

Interesting name[]

A sequel of any sort to 4 Heroes of Light is welcomed by be, as I enjoyed the game, however I do have to say the creators either have an interesting understanding of English (if any), or just don't care about the name. Evnyofdeath 06:36, March 20, 2012 (UTC)

Desperate update[]

This page is in need of a serious edit to the up-and-up. --Ethanthegamer 17:45, April 2, 2012 (UTC)

If so, you can start updating, but remember to reference any sources. Either way: what exactly needs to be 'redone'?—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) 17:48, April 2, 2012 (UTC)

Hunter Image[]

Anyone mind fixing that using a similar styled image like the other classes? Seems you can get one from the official site pretty like the other pictures. I'm not good with flash. Much appreciated. Dullblade (talk) 16:21, September 16, 2012 (UTC)

Excited about job system[]

FFT-WotL art

Indeed! I have already planned the jobs I'm using. Tiz(Pirate/Monk), Anies (Hunter/Summoner), Edea(Swordmaster/Knight) and Lingabell(Red Mage/Mystic Knight). Damn excited to see how they turn out. Dullblade (talk) 09:40, September 17, 2012 (UTC)

FFT-WotL art

A bit of both. Going a little more indepth...

  • Pirate/Monk: Mainly, I wanted the lead male to have a class and weapon style that is little more unorthodox. And I happen to like Pirates and Monks. The focus is on power with self-supporting skills like "Chakra" and "Invigorate" (Power buff).
  • Hunter/Summoner: Pretty balanced class combo here that would allow Anies to deal with most situations. Unfortunately, I don't know how expensive summoning will be and if a Hunter's Int/Magic Power will be up snuff to deal decent damage. Well, that's where Support Abilities come in anyway, plus if it still doesn't work out I will just replace the Summoner or Hunter class with a Time Mage instead.
  • Swordmaster/Knight: Both Jobs seem to go together pretty well from what I've read about them. Swordmaster increases the tanking abilities of the Knight five-fold and Edea just looks great in those classes.
  • Red Mage/Mystic Knight: The most Mage-like class on this team with emphasis placed on hitting enemy weaknesses hard while propping up the team with various supportive abilities. I plan to give it a Staff/Rod and Sword to complete the "Mage Knight" look and boost it's offensive abilities at the sametime.

Of course since all of class haven't been revealed yet I may make changes, but that's low chance at the moment as l'm rather satisfied with this setup for my first playthrough. :)

I hope they have Dragoon. If not, then at least I'm satisfied with a Dark Knight class. :) Yukkuri-chan - 2:05 AM, 5 October, 2012 (UTC).

Officially Released![]

Today is day! Now hopefully we can getting news of an international release in the next upcoming months.Dullblade (talk) 13:06, October 11, 2012 (UTC)

Official Western Title[]

Release Date[]

It's in French- it's not too hard to read though- and I don't know whether you would consider it official, but http://www.ffring.com/news/Bravely-Default-le-6-decembre-en-France-d2ab2f438dd43.html states that Where The Fairy Flies will be released in France a day after its release in Japan. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 14:45, October 1, 2013 (UTC)

This whole move[]

Don't get me wrong, I don't take issue with the move if we are going to use its European title, but the whole thing was dreadfully fast, and has disrupted things to a degree. There are now a lot of articles linked to this thing that are stuck with the Flying Fairy title. Maybe a few experienced editors should do what needs to be done, find out whether Where the Fairy Flies is its international title, then do something about all the articles that now look outdated. --Crystal Tear (talk) 17:28, October 1, 2013 (UTC)

Catuse ran his bot last night to change all instances of "Flying Fairy" to "Where The Fairy Flies." He did say however, that it has been acting up and may have missed some articles. I have just checked using our What Links Here tool and the only remaining articles are mostly archives and walkthrough space. So, um...I don't know where you're looking to find a shed ton of "Flying Fairy." Of course we're going to use the International/European title, we're an English wiki.
Also, I know from at least one source that "Where The Fairy Flies" is an International title, as it is being used in France so it's highly likely to be the same over here in Blighty. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 19:44, October 1, 2013 (UTC)
To be honest, it was a little way back, but it lingered, and with the English trailers simply using "Bravely Default", I just felt it needed a mention. --Crystal Tear (talk) 20:47, October 1, 2013 (UTC)
Ah, I see. There is more than one Bravely Default game so it's unlikely the English release will be named just "Bravely Default" unless Praying Brage never makes it here. We'll see. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 12:20, October 2, 2013 (UTC)
Got it. But several articles (Allusions, Enemies, Jobs) still carry the Flying Fairy title. --Crystal Tear (talk) 12:48, October 2, 2013 (UTC)
Guys I'm sorry for the sudden moving of the article. Should Nintendo and SE decide not to use the WTFF title, i'll help in moving back the pages. It seems like several gaming websites are still using the Flying Fairy title, like EGM. However, Final Fantasy Network just adapted the WTFF title in their latest article about BD sΓΣamyGoreng 13:06, October 2, 2013 (UTC)

This official post from SQEX EU writes the games title as "Bravely Default: Where the Fairy Flies", the is written lowercase, while we have it uppercase. Do we correct it or wait until NA release?—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 17:10, November 5, 2013 (UTC)

All of our article names are all words capitalised even for terms that are not so in the games, different than how it is done in Wikipedia. The only exception I can think of is real Emotion. I'm not sure if there was a ever a rule about it or it's just become a convention.Keltainentoukokuu (talk) 17:44, November 5, 2013 (UTC)

Ungh...This trailer doesn't show the "Where the Fairy Flies" subtitle...So is this, or any, subtitle present for the westerners or no?—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 23:20, November 13, 2013 (UTC)

I'm a bit confused by the whole thing as well. I've tried checking Square Enix's website, but I haven't been able to find an official title anywhere. There's some stuff on the forums there, but that's hardly official. I just tried checking the eShop on my 3DS on the off chance it had something, and I found two trailers for the game (I'm in North America, might vary by region). There was the one you posted above called "Bravely Default - Adventure Trailer" and another called "Bravely Default™ Character Trailer". The "Where the Fairy Flies" subtitle appears nowhere in either of these videos. —JustAnotherJosh talk 00:28, November 14, 2013 (UTC)
Nintendo EU branch appears to have changed their minds on the subtitle, it's not present on the UK site or the AU eShop, which is about as much as I can check. It's appearing that "Bravely Default" is now the only English title.
But, yes, the title was at one point official and should be noted as such. Seriously, SE using it was pointed out in this very topic last week. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 02:09, November 14, 2013 (UTC)

The correct name for both American and European versions is "Bravely Default". I don't know where this "Where the Fairy Flies" came from, I guess it's NeoGAF and their secret sources that we must trust all the time without questioning. That "official" blog post was done by a fan who collects the news from sites like Siliconera, and recently Square Enix decided that he stops writing them.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.79.210.235 (talk) 12:32, November 14, 2013 (UTC). Well, the title within the demo (that I've played) is written as: "Bravely Default: where the Fairy Flies" (Only the "F" are in capital letters). I think Nintendo uses a shorten title just for style xp --Eidolon2010 (talk) 19:16, November 14, 2013 (UTC)

My brother was watching Nintendo Direct today when I overheard them talking about this game, so I obviously started paying attention (Bravely Default coverage begins around the 10:00 mark). The entire time the game was referred to as Bravely Default with no mention of the subtitle. When you pair this with the official site that somebody posted a few days ago that doesn't mention the "Where the Fairy Flies" subtitle either, I agree that it's beginning to look like the name of the game has been changed. Not sure if any of this is enough "evidence" of sorts to begin the process of page moves, updating links/redirects, etc. but I think it's something that should be discussed.

Also: does anyone know how to update the yellow navigation bar that appears at the top of every page on this wiki? If you go to Articles → Latest Games you'll see that this game is still listed as Bravely Default: Flying Fairy. This really ought to be changed to Bravely Default: Where The Fairy Flies, or Bravely Default if we decide to move the page. —JustAnotherJosh talk 06:08, November 17, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry to put that again, but I've bought the game (in early, thanks to a shop), just to make it clear: Which title truly matters ? The box one ("Bravely Default") ? Or the in-game one ("Bravely Default: where the Fairy Flies") ? Eidolon2010 (talk) 14:00, December 3, 2013 (UTC)
I'm of the opinion this needs to be just Bravely Default. I've had a check also and this is how the International version is referred to; that should be good enough for us. Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 14:11, December 3, 2013 (UTC)
As you wish ^^ *Now leaving Caldisla* Eidolon2010 (talk) 14:17, December 3, 2013 (UTC)
EDIT: Since I have the game, may I put the official English names here ? Eidolon2010 (talk) 21:38, December 3, 2013 (UTC)
Yes please! And could you rename the fan translation column while you're at it? And the bit at the top about "Ever getting an English translation." :) Tia-LewiseRydia - Young battle 21:51, December 3, 2013 (UTC)
Well, I just in the middle of Ch 1, in Ancheim, so only 6 asterisks XP So, I will change bit by bit ^^ Eidolon2010 (talk) 21:55, December 3, 2013 (UTC)
So, permission to move to Bravely Default for the time being? C A T U S E 19:07, December 7, 2013 (UTC)
We also need to remember about the {{sideicon}} and a correct abbr for it.—Kaimi (999,999 CP/5 TP) ∙ 19:40, December 7, 2013 (UTC)

2 "Bravely Second"s ?[]

It's weird to have an element of gameplay called "Bravely Second" in the first game (which acts like the Overclock in Lightning Returns), and a sequel to the game with the same name ... Eidolon2010 (talk) 14:15, December 4, 2013 (UTC)

English Voice Actors[]

I heard somewhere about a couple names for voice actors for the English version (Only three- Tiz, Edea and Kamiizumi) from tvtropes. However, I don't know if this source is right or not (but the experiences I have had with the website in the past have been good with the intel.) Can someone check this out for me?

The names are:

Tiz- Bryce Papenbrook

Edea- Cassandra Lee (yes, if this is true, then the VA shares the same name as the character :) )

Kamiizumi- Liam O'Brian.

Thank you! TMG- Why? (talk) 22:51, December 5, 2013 (UTC)

Wait, I just found the behind the voice actors site, and looking at it thus far:

Tiz is indeed Bryce Papenbrook

Edea is indeed Cassandra Lee Moris (brilliant! For the reason see above)

Nothing has been said of Kamiizumi's voice actor. I might hesitate a guess that it is Liam, but not 100% sure yet.

I shall edit it on the voice actors table, and if you wanna see evidence:

Thank you!

Archives: Magic[]

Any reason why the list of magic in the game was deleted from the archives section? As a casual reader I found that fairly useful... wondering why it was decided this information should be removed. Does anyone know someplace else to view what magic is available in Bravely Default? ——Preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.130.138.184 (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~.

It's not deleted, nobody ever bothered to move it when we did the second lot of renames. Fixed. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 03:18, December 15, 2013 (UTC)

Artbook scans[]

I do not really have the time to join merely to upload a few photos that I in no way procured myself, so I wanted to direct someone's attention to these artbook[1] scans. May be useful. 68.225.108.64 03:11, June 5, 2014 (UTC)

Very nice, thanks for that. I can upload them soon. --Shockstorm 00:35, June 6, 2014 (UTC)

Profiteur/DeRosso voice actors[]

Can somebody find the voice actors for both Erutus Profiteur and Lester DeRosso? (Who the heck is Popeye V.?)

P.S. TVTropes said that Ciggma Khint is voiced by Kirk Thornton instead of Dave B. Mitchell. Can someone check who REALLY voiced Khint?

What's all this in game buying stuff I keep hearing about?[]

I am talking about having to spend Nintendo Points to do stuff in game. Why the heck would they make a full fledged game you can buy in a store and have you pay for stuff to supposedly make it better? And I also heard that the game encourages you to buy more for multiplayer or something. What is that about? JokerJay779 (talk) 18:10, June 2, 2015 (UTC)
