Blitz and BladeblitzEdit

Blitz first appeared as a Ninjutsu. Bladeblitz covers a recurring multi-target physical attack. We shouldn't have the same thing covered in two different places so there's a decision to make. - Henryacores^ 00:08, September 2, 2011 (UTC)

I fail to see what you mean, since FF13 didn't use the term "Bladeblitz" that I can see. Unless you're suggesting that Blitz be the page for the thunder-spell and Bladeblitz for the physical attack, which I disagree with. Doreiku Kuroofangu 00:11, September 2, 2011 (UTC)
The Blitz Ninjutsu is a lightning-elemental spell originally known as Raijin. There is some splitting to be made. - Henryacores^ 15:59, September 3, 2012 (UTC)

Split Blitz & RaijinEdit

What Henryacores mentioned above, all Ninjutsu spells have made enough appearance to get their own pages. FFIV, FFXI, FFTA, FFTA2 (?), FFB. Those are the ones that springs to mind at the moment, there could be others. Fenrir9 (talk) 12:13, September 24, 2012 (UTC)

Delete Edit

I'm really thinking this page out to be vaped, all the entries are unrelated. We have FF4 with a lightning spell, FF6 with a Skillset, FF13 with a special attack, Tactics Advance which is a physical attack. and the Legends stuff. And many of them use different Japanese names, so really, there's not much linking these aside from the English name, which isn't enough. Doreiku Kuroofangu 02:29, January 13, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, this is really just a random jumble of abilities with the same name rather than a page that's, y'know, about something. (Cat + meow)(RC + Sbox) = FFW 06:21, January 13, 2013 (UTC)
At the very least we need to break apart the "Raijin" Blitz and the "Area Blast" Blitz. The page as it is is pretty much a mess of various unrelated things. -- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 06:34, January 13, 2013 (UTC)
In Brigade, the ninjutsu Raijin is the latest translation for Blitz. Move the lightning-elemental ninjutsu to Raijin. Edit: Sorry, they call it "Jutsu: Raiton". Fenrir9 (talk) 06:38, January 13, 2013 (UTC)
Cool, then yeah, the Ninjutsu can be salvaged, along with the FF11 one, perhaps. Doreiku Kuroofangu 14:27, January 13, 2013 (UTC)
So, would the Ninjutsu skill page use this name? Doreiku Kuroofangu 00:29, January 21, 2013 (UTC)

How To Split Edit

So, if this content is being split, how should it be done? I see Blitz (Ninjutsu) or Raijin (Ability) for FF4, FF11 and Dimensions, obviously, but the rest are still quite dissimilar. We could group the FF13 examples with Dissidia and tag it as FF13, then do the same for the two Tactics examples and Legend examples. In which case though, where does Airborne Brigade go, which game is it taken from? Doreiku Kuroofangu 04:54, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

I am not entirely certain from which game Airborne Brigade's Blitz hails. Since it wasn't in the XIII-2 crossover, though, and the animation doesn't look right, I'd probably rule out that series. If I had to guess, I would say FFIV, but again, I've no way to be certain :\ Jimcloud 04:00, February 8, 2013 (UTC)
Nah, the image doesn't look lightning-elemental enough for that. I think the magical version of Blitz is in there as Jutsu: Raiton.
Does Brigade reference Tactics Advance/A2? The Brigade and A2 images both look like shockwaves. Probably tenuous, but I think it must be either XIII or that.-- Some Color Mage ~ (Talk) 04:04, February 8, 2013 (UTC)
ETA: As for Legend, I'm drawing a blank. It's kinda hard to fit in games that aren't even really FF games :/ 04:06, February 8, 2013 (UTC)

The Ninjutsu skill is split off, leaving the assorted physical commands. Doreiku Kuroofangu 16:04, February 8, 2013 (UTC)

Okay, FFAB has Area Sweep, which is an upgraded Area Blast aka Blitz in FF13-2. So, seeing as how the FF13 version of Blitz has precedence outside the original game in both FFAB and D012, that means we could split off Blitz (Final Fantasy XIII Ability) (horrible tag but I'm rying to come up with a solution) from here. Or, we can make this page for the FF13 ability, and relegate the TA and Legends abilities to a See Also at the top. Doreiku Kuroofangu 23:49, February 8, 2013 (UTC)

Why would we use "Blitz (Final Fantasy XIII Ability)" when it could just be "Blitz (Final Fantasy XIII)"? 79.69.205.105 23:50, February 8, 2013 (UTC)
Good point. Doreiku Kuroofangu 23:56, February 8, 2013 (UTC)

Okay, tired of this, I think everyone is. I'm gonna split them all off to tags with their game name. Doreiku Kuroofangu 18:44, February 12, 2013 (UTC)
