Fan-translation 'issues' and stuff[]

Characters: Gun (Female) and Two Guns (Male) should be "Revolver (Female)" and "Revolver (Male)", respectively. The word for gun is just 銃, 短銃 is specifically a revolver. The rest are fine.

Enemies: Ice Sword for アイスコルベット is a bit... I dunno... コルベット is "Corvette", and the only two things I know that are called "Corvette" are the cars and the warships. But I could be wrong (I noticed that someone translated it as "Colbet" later on, so maybe it's an original name). The three enemies with AVALANCHE should be AVALANCHE soldier (or AVALANCHE trooper, whatever sounds better). Also, instead of "Grapple", I recommend "Martial Arts" or "Fist Fighting". The two Insect Chimera shouldn't be (small) and (large), but (chrysalis) and (imago), respectively (larva & adult insect, in case people are wondering). Also, it's missing a kana for it to be "Chimera". Currently, it's Kamala (as in the Hindu goddess). クラッカーボム sounds like what an insane, racist bomb-maker would call his creations (Just saying, CRACKER BOMB!! O.o). --Hecko X 22:50, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

Corvette was in the original game. I guess we have to move those character pages then... (Though honestly they are just stand-ins as it is). --BlueHighwind 22:55, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
Gun (Female) and Two Guns (Male)&mdash' This is what they are known as on every English BC site. Well, Two Guns is also known as "Twin Guns".
Ice Sword, Colbet, AVALANCHE (Grapple), and the Insect Chimeras came from FFRepublic, the site BH originally used. (So therefore at the time I was trying to match the Japanese I had)— though I reckon that's just another fan-translation, and as the wiki know has loads of original translations we can drop them. I'll also probably change a few to match VII translations. (Colbet -> Corvette; Head Bomber -> Headbomber (and therefore dropping the space on all "bombers" (they're penguins dammit))  ILHI 16:03, 24 April 2009 (UTC)

Reminiscence of FFVII Compilation[]

Since Reminiscence of FFVII Compilation includes subtitled footage of Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII, couldn't we consider the names of the characters that are shown in this to be the official translations of their names? Since I don't have the Advent Children Complete on-hand at the moment, I can't say for sure how much the names Reminiscence of FFVII Compilation deviate from the fan translations. I'll rewatch it the next chance I get to take note of this though. –Nahald 00:35, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Okay, I just got a chance to rewatch Reminiscence of FFVII Compilation, here are the official translations of the characters that are mentioned in the short: Veld, Elfe (aka Felicia), Shears, Professor Rayleigh, Essai, Sebastian, Fuhito, and Zirconiade. From the looks of it, I guess we'll have to be moving the Verdot and Sears articles, and also the Elfé articles, since the translations doesn't use an accent over the "e." I'll post requests to move in their respective articles. –Nahald 02:34, 7 July 2009 (UTC)
