Merge[]
We should consider merging this with the Bangaa section in "Races of Final Fantasy" --Hecko X 21:16, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
- Oh yeah. In that case, merge any and all of the individual race articles with that. --Frusion1021 21:21, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, I'm considering giving each race its own article, except the very minor ones. The reason for this is that this isn't Wikipedia, and Races of Final Fantasy is a spork article dumped in here. My ultimate goal is to break it down. Crazyswordsman 02:11, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- Ideally, this is an example of how it should work. A small description on the Races page, and the main description here. Remember that this isn't Wikipedia (notice at the top of the Races article there's a cute template?) Crazyswordsman 02:14, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- Unlike Wikipedia, we can afford to go into more depth here.--Sephiroth2.0 02:58, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you. I want to distance ourselves from Wikipedia; that's the only way this place can evolve. As long as we are connected to Wikipedia, we're stuck here. Crazyswordsman 03:20, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- I AGREE. Blurg plus "Also See: Mithra" or... bangaa... or whatever.. --12.34.246.37 05:10, 21 October 2006 (UTC) This is me --TacticAngel 05:11, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

There's something that's bugging me as of right now. I have a strong feeling that the plural version of Bangaa is... well... Bangaa and not "Bangaas" (e.g. 2 Bangaa VS. 2 Bangaas). You know, kind of like those other words that have the same word for singular as it does for plural. Any thoughts? --Frusion1021 05:12, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- Well, let's just say it could go either way (just as Fish and Fishes do). Crazyswordsman 05:42, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- Bangaa is plural as well. Balthier (or Balthiar or whatever his name is), uses it at one time. "Any more running about with bangaa on my tail and I would have to give up being a sky pirate all together." At least, that's the jist of it.
Bronze skin?[]
Where?
- The slightly green one on the far left side. --Hecko X 16:05, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
Mixed blood[]
While walking around Rabanastre, I happened to notice Bangaa with the physical characteristics of one race, yet the color of another. For example, an ash-colored individual with the short snout of a Bangaa Ruga. Are these supposed to be cases of mixed breeds?--Sephiroth2.0 20:38, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
- I honestly can't say for sure. But another prime example could be of the Bangaa chasing after Belthier. Bronze color of a Faa, yet physical characteristics of a Sanga. It could be possible that we are just wrong in believing they are defined by color, e.g. a Sanga can have one of a variety of colours, but is called a Sanga due to its other physical attributes (ears, eyes, snout, etc.). If Bangaa are defined in a piece of Sage Knowledge, I'll tell you, once I get it. --Hecko X 21:42, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
- I just noticed that the official guide makes note of their colors, as well. However, it then says that there are so many Bangaa of mixed blood by the time of the events in the game, colors are no longer an accurate means of identification. I can't figure out Migelo's ancestry, though. Where the hell did blue come from?--Sephiroth2.0 00:40, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
- I don't know. When I first saw him, I thought he looked more like a Bangaa/Nu Mou cross-breed, than pure Bangaa. But maybe the shade of a bangaa's scale change with age, so when he was young, he might have been ash or maybe even bronze colored. --Hecko X 01:12, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
- While escaping the Nalbina Dungeons, I noticed that several of the Bangaa prisoners were blue as well.--Sephiroth2.0 05:02, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
- Erm, Isn't Migelo a Seeq, though?--Atlantima 17:31, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- A Seeq? How could you possibly make that connection? Are you sure you're thinking of the right races? Migelo has the long, lizard face all Bangaas have. He has no pig-like qualities like a Seeq. Diablocon 17:36, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- It says he's an old Bangaa. Maybe Bangaas lose their snouts when they age. He's definitely not a Seeq though, based on the way I think of it. I think of Bangaas having Scottish and Yorkshire accents and Seeqs speak in a Southern drawl. --Crazyswordsman 04:54, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, Migelo's a Bangaa, but that is not a Scottish accent. I am Scottish, and many people mistake other stuff for Scottish accents ~Chocobo Knight

- Migelo neither looks nor sounds (like anything anyway) like a bloated Moblin ripoff, no. --Auron Kaizer 19:49, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- Are you referring to the Seeqs? I guess you could say THEY're Moblin ripoffs. But not Bangaas, no. And remember, the Wizzrobe is a Black Mage ripoff. --Crazyswordsman 04:55, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

George Lucas? --Crazyswordsman 04:50, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

- Biggs and Wedge, I guess. --Hecko X 11:20, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm, then wouldn't CSM have put this statement in that article's talk page? There's probably a Bangaa-thing named after something from Star Wars. Diablocon 12:11, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- Biggs and Wedge are just references. I mean, Bangaa is the kind of name you'd see in Star Wars. Kinda reminds me of Bantha, for example. --Crazyswordsman 04:03, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Stat Table?[]
Mymindislost - You made me forget my dreams when I woke up to you sleeping... TALK - 21:45, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Okay. I'm not sure where to put a battle stat table on this page, since there are sections for two different games. I don't want to mess up the formatting of this article too much, after all. Just under the XII section?
Hmm, this is indeed a tougher article. Put it where you think is right, then I'll sort it out if possible.
Mymindislost - You made me forget my dreams when I woke up to you sleeping... TALK - 22:14, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
Well, if I just put it under a "Clan Primer" subsection, it will get pretty long, assuming we want to include all 6 pages of the bestiary entry. Should there maybe be a "Bangaa (enemy)" article or something?
Bangaa (Enemy) should be fine, just remember to make that E a capital.
Scottish accent?[]
I'm Scottish, and I disagree. They do sound ever-so-slightly Scottish, but I wouldn't say it is a Scottish accent ~Chocobo Knight
I'm Scottish too. I think someone has confused snarling with accent.
- Actually, many of the Bangaa do have something close to the scottish accent, it shows out even more in the case of Ba'Gamnan and his group who force it out while speaking. In fact, it seems intended as many of FFXII's characters and races are given a variety of english dialects.Fractyl2 16:33, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, yeah, that's all well and good, but I've made a total rewrite for that page. I think it better than some assuming assuming. And for those who wants to know who spoke which accent:
- American : Vaan, Penelo, Ashe, Vossler, Reks
- British : Basch, Ondore, Reddas
- Received Pronunciation : Balthier, Vayne, Larsa, Cid, Gramis, Judges
- New Zealand: Gabranth
- Italian: Al-Cid
- Nordic: Fran, Jote
Get wikipedia to tell you what is what. Blue。 16:44, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
To specify "Nordic", I would say it is Icelandic, since they (the Viera in general) sound similar to one of my sempai who's from Iceland. Also, the further South you get in the Nordic countries of EU, the more "abrupt" the accent/pronounciation becomes. So... Icelandic, yeah.
Blue, it doesn't work like that. You have to think. Though Vaan and Penelo are among those without foreign accents and Al-Cid has a Italian-style accent.
- Bangaa: Scottish English
- Viera: Irish English
- Cockatrices: Cockney English
- Ashe, Archadians: British English
- Bhujerba: Indian English
Fractyl2 00:07, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
I'm still gonna go with the Viera speaking in an Icelandic accent. It doesn't have enough "tones" to sound Irish. Then again, I could be wrong. Speaking of accents, I want which accents they had in the Jap version, if any...
Viera are no way near Irish. I like Hecko's suggestion for Icelandic though, makes sense.
Actually, Diablo, It was only until I heard Mjrn again that I realized that they do speak in a Irish accent. Fractyl2 02:53, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
Who-haaaa, score one for Hecko, it's an icelandic dialect (based on an interview with Björk as reference). And, not to rub it in Fractyl's face, it was April Stewart herself (the voice of Mjrn) that was the one who told me. Delightful irony? Ohhh yeah ^_^
Good one there Hecko. Actually, what this place really needs is less fan interpretation and assumption and more published and factual evidence. Really! To Hecko: Sorry, I'll get on the chocobo website soon.
I don't know how an e-mail counts as factual evidence, but I have it should anyone inquire! And don't worry about it, just when you have the time.
