[edit] Awesome

TALK - {{{time}}}
There are a lot of disagreements here on the FF Wiki. People hate characters who others find fantastic. With the Colleseum, it has become more apparent that we all can't agree on if (insert character) is cool. But, we can all agree with one thing: Auron is Kick Ass. There's not a single FF fan who doesn't like him.

[edit] Auron's Jug

Here are some of the main reasons to why it is believed that Auron's jug contains sake.
1) It's a sake jug
2) Auron is modeled after a Ronin, who were known to carry a full jug of sake
3) Ronin would purify their swords, by pouring sake in their mouthes and spitting it out on their swords, much like Auron does in his overdrive(s).
4) Due to the heavy influences from Japanese cultur, it makes it unlikely for it to be anything other than sake.
--Hecko X 16:30, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

I win.

It could be a Moonshine jug, they look like that, you know. (I've always consider it to be Moonshine). Crazyswordsman 16:46, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Actually, they don't. Moonshine jugs have a "handle" near the jug opening, which helps you pour its content. Sake jugs usually don't have that handle, making them look more like... I don't know... fat vases. At least, that goes for original sake jugs. --Hecko X 17:21, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Heh. I love being childish. You're probably right actually, guess the game creators were wrong when they said that the text on the bottle means nog in Spiran writing. --Auron Kaizer 16:47, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

Nog = a term used in certain parts of England only for "strong ale" (this is the only definition where nog is thought of as alcohol).
Sake = distilled alcoholic beverage = ale.
In a sence, the same thing, but unless the actual Japanese creators said the English word "ale", in stead of some translator "mistranslating" (no wait, can't be, cause that's never happen in FF before...) "sake", I'm sticking with that it's sake in the jug. Also, just for fun, try looking up the word "nog" in a dictionary, see what you find. Feel free to add your findings here, cause I'm curious. --Hecko X 17:21, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Where'd it say that? Still, Moonshine is funnier than Sake and Nog put together. Crazyswordsman 17:22, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
In the Merriam-Webster online dictionary. Out of all the dictionaries I own, as well as of those I know of online, M-W was the only one that could define "nog" by itself, and even then, the etymology of the word was unknown, mainly because it's not even an actual word (at least not when it has to do with alcohol). But moonshine (at least the kind we have in Serbia) is a bit too strong for my taste, burns like hell, but it works wonders on a soar throat and a clogged nose --Hecko X 17:46, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
All right, I believe you now. For the matter, Auron would drink Absinth. --Auron Kaizer 18:23, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

The word "nog" as it's used in this context is more-or-less derived from middle English "noggin", slang term for a small wooden mug you drink alcohol from. As such, in this case, assuming it's not a mistranslation, they're refering to the jug itself and not its contents.

Should we just put the Nomura Artwork in the character template thingy there on all characters? It's a bit non-systematic right now. (By the way, that Sake discussion is QUITE childish =P) --Auron Kaizer 18:12, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

But you still participated in it ^_^ But I would go with either the Nomura artwork or the thing-a-magig with the FFX logo in the background, like it is here. --Hecko X 18:36, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
The Nomura ones look better. --Auron Kaizer 18:55, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

It's probaly Apple Juice or Chocolate Milk. I personally would keep a (container of some kind) full of Mountain Dew with me if I was going on a big adventure. It wouldn't be helpful to swords in any way, but it keeps me awake better than coffee does.

WHY WOULD IT BEIN APPLE JUICE OR CHOCOLATE MILK!!!!?!?!?!? those are childish drinks wtf would a 35 year old be drinking that?!?!?!?! and on another not if you flip nog around its gon which would sound like gone .... heh the nog is all gonKaospyri 22:41, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Auron is a Samurai

Yes, he starts out with Warrior's ability "Power Break" and eventually learns Knight's command, !Guard, he's still a Samurai due to his Overdrive.

TALK - {{{time}}}
Yes is true that, Auron's job commands start naturally with Knight's command's or Warrior, but i see nothing of Samurai aside from his clothes and that he can equip Katanas but his attacks at first are like Knights and his overdrives are like the Dark Knight command

No, I'm not seeing it. You should have really linked to it from an outside source too, unless you put this picture on your usepage.

And saying "PLZ DONT DELETE!" in that manner only makes me want to delete it more.

[edit] de:Auron

Of coure this works... this connect the german wiki with the english wiki. Look at the right side, there is a box with the language. And with this, you can change from an english version of the article to a german version. Look at our auron, there this is allready there. --Scharesoft 15:54, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Diablocon - No, the question is; who art thou, ham planks? Shanks! I meant shanks
TALK - 16:00, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
I said it on your talk page, but I'll put it here too for future reference. Nearly every user here uses the Monobook skin, and thus can't see the language. Also, the interwiki option was only implemented today.

EDIT: As Scharesoft points out, the language option is on the left side for Monobook. However, you're going to have to do a lot of scrolling to see it.

Thanks :) Of course we also link from every german article to the englisch one. --Scharesoft 16:06, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Weapon and Armor Info

BlueHighwind Q?
TALK - I Am Vengeance. I Am the Knight. I Am Batman! :
I had a serious debate over where to give this question. Talk:Tidus? Talk:Yuna? I decided on Auron because he's the coolest.

Anyway...

Shouldn't the Weapon and Armor info be moved to some kind of Final Fantasy X Weapons and Final Fantasy X Armor page like we do in every other game? In Final Fantasy VII we don't list the Cloud Weapons on the Cloud Strife page.

Why does Auron have his left arm slung up in his jacket like that if he can use it perfectly fine????

It's a posture that many samurai are known to useKaihedgie 02:49, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Samurai fight with both hands, unless it's Musashi who fight with both swords. Auron never uses his left hand probably to make him look badass. Leon5550

In the old days of Feudal Japan, some Samurai who had lost a master (Daimyo- the feudal lords) would become ronin (masterless samurai). Some ronin would tuck their arm or arms into their robe-thing (sorry, don't know the proper term), typically their sword-wielding arm, to signify and commemorate the loss of their master. Maybe Nomura designed Auron to always tuck in one arm in his robe-thing because he was honoring the loss of his "master", Braska, and possbibly his friend Jecht. [edit] Entomology?

Violetmage - Could go for some mango or papaya. Passion fruit would be nice too...
TALK - 23:49, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
Hmm, something interesting I thought of: Auron's name could have derived from "Aurora"- the Greek goddess of the dawn. I haven't heard any confirmation about where his name came from, but I've definitely heard that Tidus's name comes from the Okinawan word for "sun". Since dawn brings the sun out into the sky, could the two names be a reference to how Auron brought Tidus to Spira? Just a theory.
So Auron was named after a relative of Treebeard? I guess he hides his bark underneath the robes.... Drake Clawfang 00:08, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
He's also an insect if he's studied in entomology. Maybe he hides his other set of limbs under the coat as well.--Muchomas35 00:11, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
Ooh, Aurora. I never related the two. I'd at least mention it, it makes some sense.  ILHI (W/B) 10:03, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
Violetmage - Could go for some mango or papaya. Passion fruit would be nice too...
TALK - 17:52, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
I am such a dumbass, Muchomas! I used the word "entomology", which describes the study of bugs, instead of the word "Etymology"= the study of words. You now have my full permission to laugh and point your fingers at me. But ILHI: should I create a "Etymology" section for the Auron page?
Yes.  ILHI (W/B) 18:34, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
No you're stupid because you use the entire talktexttest2 template. JK! Just write the name of your template like{{Your template|text=then write what you want to say.}}No need to copy the whole thing! --Zack fair 007 18:37, 23 June 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Undead?

Under trivia, it talks about how Auron is healed by curing things even though he's Undead. But he's not Undead. He's never said anywhere in the game to be Undead. He's Unsent, which, in FFX, is not the same thing as being Unsent at all. I've just been replaying FFX, and so this stuff is fresh in my mind. Is it alright if that part is changed? - Chocobo Knight 16:33, September 28, 2009 (UTC)

Gustav Margriff - Hell yeah! Final Fantasy the best game ever!
TALK - {{{time}}}
The undead are souls inside their bodies after death without go to the havens or hell. And the unsent are the same as they, the only difference is that the unsent are on the outside world by their own while the undead are make of a sort black evil magick that makes them being there. but it seems the reason of he could use potion without get hurt is because he is not Unholy like the typical undead that is why.
