The Svarog is an enemy in Final Fantasy XIII-2. Appearing only after Atlas is defeated, it can be a dangerous opponent to fight unprepared.

Stats[]

Battle[]

Svarog is weak to ice and its most deadly attack is the Feeding Stoop.

Strategy[]

To Stagger it as quickly as possible, the party should start with the Relentless Assault or Cerberus paradigms, then switch to Tri-disaster to quickly drive up the chain gauge. This will also exploit Svarog's weakness to ice. Once the Svarog is staggered Feeding Stoop can be interrupted by attacks. The Svarog will not last for long once it is staggered.

Paradigm Pack[]

The Svarog is a Commando. Both its Strength and HP rise to impressive figures, and it innately halves physical and magic attacks, making it a resilient ally. Its main cause for concern is that its attacks are sluggish and can sometimes miss, and its Magic stat is low.

Etymology[]

Svarog is a Slavic deity known primarily from the Hypatian Codex, a Slavic translation of the Chronicle of John Malalas. Svarog is there identified with Hephaestus, the god of the blacksmith in ancient Greek religion, and as the father of Dažbog, a Slavic solar deity. On the basis of this text, some researchers conclude that Svarog is the Slavic god of celestial fire and of blacksmithing.
