The Survival Vest (サバイバルベスト, Sabaibaru Besuto?) is a recurring armor in the series. It is often a mid-rank armor that provides decent Defense, but sometimes grants physical bonuses as well.

The Survival Vest is available in the Final Fantasy 20th Anniversary release of Final Fantasy and is the best light armor in the game. It grants 45 Defense, 2 Weight, 15 Agility and 15 Stamina. The Survival Vest is one of the possible rewards for defeating Chronodia.
Final Fantasy IXEdit

The Survival Vest is a mid-rank armor that can be used by everyone except Steiner and Freya. It provides +17 Defense, +2 Spirit, and teaches the abilities Antibody, Mug, and Locomotion. Survival Vests can be bought for 2,900 gil at Black Mage Village (Disc 2/3), Lindblum (Disc 2/3), Madain Sari, Alexandria, and Treno (Disc 3/4). The player may also find one in Fossil Roo and Madain Sari, and steal one from Beatrix during the battle in Alexandria.
Final Fantasy XIIEdit
The Survival Vest is a mid-rank light armor that can be bought for 1,900 gil at Royal City of Rabanastre and Jahara and requires 25 LP to use. It provides +140 HP, +16 Defense, and +5 Vitality.
In the International Zodiac Job System version, Survival Vest can be used by the Machinist, Monk, Archer, and Shikari.
Final Fantasy XII: Revenant WingsEdit
The Survival Vest is a low to mid-rank armor for Filo. It provides +30 Defense and Magick Defense, +5 Stamina, and resistance to Earth-elemental attacks. It can be bought in the shop in Chapter 4 for 3,200 gil.

The Survival Vest is a low-rank armor that teaches the ability Immunity to the Blue Mage and Beastmaster. It provides +31 Defense and +6 Resistance, and can be bought for 1,100 gil in the shop after creating it in the Bazaar after using a Gun Gear, Tiger Hide, and Power Fruit.
