The Summoner's Magick growth is astounding, even better than nu mou jobs.
Summoners call on Espers to aid them in battle, either by damaging foes or healing and casting spell effects on the party. To compensate for this unique casting ability, their Move stat is low and their summons cannot be cast far or tell enemies from allies. They have the lowest HP growth. With Sprint Shoes or Ninja Tabi and Halve MP equipped, she can be a deadly force. The change in KO mechanics makes the Summoner's Phoenix summon even more potent, as she no longer has to target her allies' bodies, and thus can revive her entire party with one spell.
A great combination is putting Red Magick on a Summoner and doublecasting summons. By setting up equipment to absorb elements, a Summoner can use Blood Price and target spells so she hits herself, negating the cost (it is best to absorb Holy as Maduin is a slightly more powerful spell). Another deadly combo is having the Red Mage Summoner cast Kirin on herself to bestow Regen, allowing her to recover HP every turn.
The only notable Summoner is Alys, one of the four bosses of Duelhorn.
