Stoney Roost is an enemy type from Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. They attack in the Ice Pyramid, and can Petrify party members. They are weak to Phoebe's arrows and can be easily defeated.

The battle has the creature with its wings spread out and levitating. After some damage, it is shown to have nearly all but a few of its feathers on its wings removed.
Etymology
Stoney Roost is known as the Cockatrice in the Japanese version. The Cockatrice is a creature from mythology. It is similar to the basilisk in appearance and ability, but also possesses flight. A cockatrice is born from an egg hatched by a rooster and incubated by a toad, and its gaze causes instant petrification.
